As I go back and review some venues in Las Vegas that I enjoyed going to, I can't help but admire the Theater @ Virgin for how great this place really was. It's pretty rare for any venue in Las Vegas to have decent parking, let alone FREE parking so whenever I had the chance to come here it always felt like everything was just a little cheaper because of that. I've been here a few times from seeing Papa Roach, Living Colour, Fabulous, and my most recent show (which was still like 2 years ago) of Social Distortion and Bad Religion. This venue is absolutely massive featuring a giant floor for standing room, multiple standing room balcony's, table seating, as well as a ton of upper level seating as well and outside of not living the very top row of seats (that was my fault, waited way too late to get tickets) I've never really had a bad time here. The sound has always sounded good, the screens have always worked, and anytime I've interacted with staff it's been nothing but pleasant. Overall, The Theater is a great place to see a show and I would be happy to return in the future whenever I find myself back in Las Vegas. read more

The theater Inside Virgin Hotel. This is a great intimate spot to see a concert. The sound quality here is great, the setting is intimate as I stated above. The general admission area is expansive and a great way to get up close to the stage and artist. The beer is priced well, don't be duped into the bigger size as it's not a value for the money. Just buy 2 beers regular size if you want a bigger beer, that's where the value is. We saw Sam Barber here and while we weren't giants fans of that particular artist, as he sounded exactly the same on all his songs and was very difficult to understand, we have seen several artists here and loved it. Plus you can park for free and also avoid the chaos of the strip. Overall we love this venue for concerts. We will be back for certain. read more

We purchased tickets for the social lounge and I couldn't find much out there as far as pictures or reviews, so I wasn't sure what to expect. This review is for anyone that is contemplating social lounge tickets and to give you a better idea of what to expect. The social lounge is a space on the 2nd floor balcony - there are no seats, just a few scattered couches - but mainly standing room only. As you can see in the pictures, there are two bars: One in the lobby area, another in the balcony area (which on this night was closed due to slow sales I guess). There are also bathrooms available in the lobby area. The attached pictures show you exactly what to expect - the lobby bar, the inside bar, a view from the railing and a view of the inside area. We never had any food - I'm not even sure if that was an option. Drink prices were what you'd expect, but overall I thought it was a fun option if you don't mind standing the whole time. read more

Lots of room good lighting and fun entertainment definitely a must go if you're in Vegas

When I found out that my favorite band, Motionless in White, was coming back to Las Vegas, as a super fan I just had, had, HAD to see them yet again. This was my tenth time seeing them (yep, that's right, tenth) - I saw them every year beginning in 2013 (twice in 2017 and 2018), until COVID restrictions in 2020 and 2021 snapped my yearly streak. Their opening bands were Alphawolf, After the Burial, and Knocked Loose, which I've never heard of. There was no line when we got there, which made entering the venue easy and simple. I've seen countless concerts here back when it was called The Joint (and way back before it was expanded), but this was my first concert under the Virgin Hotels name. I bought general admission tickets and though we were a little further back closer to the bar area, we still had a great view of the stage. The sound quality was decent and leaving the theater was easy breezy, just the way I remember it. The venue hasn't really changed at all when it was converted from The Joint. Drink prices were not great, but at the same time, however, they were better than the drink prices at Bakkt Theater at Planet Hollywood. I had a sprite/vodka cocktail and my boyfriend had a coke/run cocktail. Both cocktails were a total of $35, which is what you expect at a concert in Vegas. This is a review for VIP seating , my family attended a rock concert on 9/5/24 . This review is only for VIP seating on couch 2 . Waitresses were impeccable on their service and checking on customers every 15 to 30 minutes to make sure we have drinks and snacks available. Was really pleasant security guard Jimmy went above and beyond servicing VIP members. The couches had good views overlooking general admission floor seating, giving you a good amount viewing of the artist. I only complaint about the concessions at the theater was the only had beef jerky , candy and Pringles for snacks I feel they should've had popcorn or even some nachos to satisfy concert goers read more

We attended an orchestral concert and we were able to obtain seating on the floor area closest to the stage. I'm short so I was a bit worried about someone tall sitting in front of me and blocking my view since it's not super tilted or anything. But because the stage is raised, I was still able to see ok once the people seated in front of me took their position. They don't allow any water bottles in the venue so you either have to leave it outside unattended, throw it away or take it back to your vehicle. Some people decided to leave their elaborate bottles outside on the ground against the wall and we overheard that someone just came around and either took them all away or threw them away. The Huz was wondering if they had a cup of ice water available but was told that the only water they have available is a bottled one you must purchase. Capitalism is alive and well. LOL! I get it though. Overall it was a good experience. The air conditioning worked well. Parking is free. We enjoyed our concert. But is it the best concert venue I've been to? No. read more

We saw the incredible M83 perform here a few weeks ago which also happened to be our first time at this venue. I really liked the overall layout of the venue; it was super easy to move around and get from our seats, to the bar area, and restrooms. The bar was also quick & efficient with friendly bartenders who were slinging some super strong drinks! I knocked a star because this is 100% a GA Standing room is best type of venue. We had front row seats, but because all rows are pretty much floor level (meaning there was hardly any incline/stadium type seating) it was tough to see the stage with all the GA people standing. We ended up ditching our seats halfway through and asked security if we could just stand in GA instead (they let us through, yay) - the view & experience was way better there than at our seats. FYI to anyone booking a VIP seat/table, the floor level ones are a joke. They're at the back of the GA floor so you can't see anything. The group at the VIP table in front of our regular seats complained the whole time about how they couldn't see. The VIP tables on the 2nd floor would be way better, but note that they are really far back from the stage in comparison to the regular seats. I do love this venue and we'll be back, but I would only ever do GA for future shows. read more

Been to 4-5 shows here since Virgin opened. The sound quality has been consistently quite good throughout all parts of the main floor of the theater, which is a BIG plus. No incline on the main floor seating, which sucks but is typical for a venue that also uses that space for GA (instead of seats) at various shows. I will say the seats are SUPER tight. I'm of average weight and height and it's seriously shoulder to shoulder and hip to hip. Not a great theater. Not a horrible one. Bonus points for free parking and for NOT using Ticketmaster. read more

Review #21 of 2023 The Theater at Virgin Hotels hosted PFL1, PFL2, and PFL3 three Fridays in a row. We attended PFL2 on April 7th at 4 P.M. I wanted to thank the PFL and VetTix for this generous donation. We really enjoyed the event and we were exposed to fighters that were new to us. The MMA tournament was reminiscent of the nascent Pride Grand Prix days in the early 2000's. We were very impressed with the Leibrock match and are looking forward to seeing her in a PFL PPV. Points of improvement, the security team wasn't very welcoming. In actuality, they were very rude. My dietary needs require to watch my blood sugar, they wouldn't allow me to bring in my diabetic snacks. I ate what I could ahead and was forced to toss the rest. I asked if they had food and drinks inside to which they said yes. Their idea of that was alcohol at the bar. It was very demeaning to have to deal with this crass crew. When dealing with security inside the event seating area, the woman we interacted was condescending in relation to my walker which she called a "stroller." She wanted me to leave it at the stairwell. I asked her if she could help and she had this look of disgust. I asked my wife to take my walker to the stairwell and security to show her where to place my Assistive walking device. The event itself had amazing energetic vibes, with an air, and made up for the bad interactions we had with security. Unsure if we would attend an in person event again at Virgin hotels as they aren't very ADA friendly for these type of events, but leaning towards no. Attended the XG concert on 10/04! Had an amazing time and loved their setlist. However, I feel very strongly that the handling of this event was overwhelming to staff and therefore reflected negatively on security. While many of the ushers were kind, I did not think that they were prepared for the sheer number of attendees. I don't believe the event was over-sold, but I do feel like the organizing for GA standing-room was too crowded, and the check-in / service desk was equally crowded... I think a little more back-end organization can help this venue out. I did think it was smart for them to move the waiting area across two ballrooms, but the sheer crowd size vs venue size was a lot. read more

I went to the theatre at the Virgin hotel for a Keith Sweat concert, and my date and I enjoyed ourselves! The venue is small and intimate, the best venue to see a show. The sound system was solid. We were seated in the middle of the floor, and a balcony section formed a letter U in the back and side of the venue. I am a huge music lover, so I stood and danced with my date for most of the show. The seats on the floor consisted of fold-out chairs, so if you are a person who goes to a concert to sit down the entire time, you won't be able to see the show, especially if seated behind me because I go to a concert to have a great time and not sit down and be quiet like I am at a library. The casino on our walk to the theatre seemed dead, so I would not hang out at the casino unless attending a concert. The parking was free too, which was an additional plus. I will return to the theatre to see another show. read more

I would give this venue a ZERO if I could particularly for an usher and supervisor (NHH - No Hospitality Here). If you want have a fun time at a concert definately don't go here which is a shame since they have good musical groups perform. I bought my wife a ticket, center towards the front, because I was going to be out of town but ended up getting a ticket since my plans changed. I tried to get a ticket near her but nothing was available so I chose a seat, like I normally do, off to the side and towards back so when I stand I am not blocking the view of those behind me (makes me wonder sometimes why I even care but I am considerate). One usher decides to single me out, perhaps because I am by myself, older and too excited about the concert (I figure they always assume I am intoxicated or something, but I don't drink and usally get water or a club soda with lime which is what I had this particular time). He decides tell me to stay right in front of my seat and out of the aisle. The second time he tells me that he has warned me twice which then I decided I am going to call him out for singling me out. I tell him I am not in the middle of the aisle like he makes it out. I maybe am a foot to half my body out occasionally mainly because I don't want to bump into the person to my left since the seats are so close. I also ask him why other people in front of me can be out in the aisle and even a group of people in the aisle up by the stage but they don't say anything to them. I am ok with enforcing rules but you can't selectively enforce them against someone because you think they are trouble, I think they call that profiling. I tell him to get his supervisor to come talk to me and I tell her the same thing. I tell her, just to tell him to just leave me alone to enjoy the concert without harrasment. Also, I ask why he had to tell me he warned me twice and what happens on the third or forth time, do you kick me out for having fun? What exactly is the policy for warning me? She of course could not tell me. She asks if I want to be relocated, so I ask her if I can move to an empty seat near my wife or just go stand back in Sections 101 and 102. And she tell me no those are all taken and full. Ok, now I am totally confused, why did you offer to relocate me when you really had no intentions of really doing it? Also, it is not very smart to devulge your security vulnerabilities by telling me that you normally could pull up the security video to verify that I wasn't out in the middle of the aisle, like they made it seem like I was, but then tell me that the camera doesn't cover this area that has a major exit near it. So after that I make sure my right foot stays in my assigned seat area like a good boy and try to forget about it. After Howard Jones in already several songs into his set list, my wife texts me and tell me the two ladies next to her left the concert and says I can move next to her. So I did, and I tell her, I wonder how long until they come in tell me that I have to move back to my assigned seat. It wasn't but a few minutes until security did. At this point, I know they are watching me so I go back to my seat and decided to just sit down and look at my phone (the joy was finally killed and they successfully shut me down). Meanwhile, I watch people move around to different seats as other people leave the concert early and nothing is said to anyone else (people also in aisle). There was one security personnel that my wife and I talked to after the show who was decent (we agreed that my confronting the usher brought extra attention to myself). I figured that the hotel security was told to watch me which really seems outrageous that they would really waste the resouces on me rather than really watching the crowd and facility to protect the concert goers (makes me realize they have their security priorities messed up). I really don't know what happened to the old concert days. I remember in the 80s and 90s it is much different those days, and as a performer, I got to think you have to be disappointed in the lack of energy and enthusiasm from suppression of the audience. A few other things about the venue itself, although it only takes one bad thing to negate any good things. The view from most sections is good, the venue tends to get hot as the evening goes on (the lady in front of me had to sit down and fan herself, but I watched her to make sure she was doing ok), the seats on the floor are too close together making it uncomfortably crowded, the lighting is good but the sound was not correct during the first set that Haircut 100 performed (the lead singer's microphone was either not working correctly or not transmitting to speakers correctly so you couldn't hear him well), free parking, and other staff members taking tickets, screening entry and bartenders were friendly. Overall, my concert experience was ruined (think twice and hard about attending this venue - $100+ wasted). read more

Saw the Catch you on the rebound tour here Saturday night. We saw War, The Whispers and The Miracles. I'm only giving this venue 3 stars because I was very disappointed on how long it took the stage crew to set up after each act it wasted a lot of time. The Miracles went on last & were rushed by an employee saying they only had two minutes left. She came into the stage while they were performing. I'm not in this industry but feel it could have been handled differently. read more

New name, same great theater. Although it is no longer The Joint, this is by far acoustically and otherwise the best concert hall in my city. I have been to countless concerts at this venue and enjoyed all of them. The theater offers seating on all three floors. It can comfortably seat 4500 people. Since Virgin Hotels bought the Hard Rock a while back, they have renovated and updated the bar areas, added luxury suites and added two VIP lounge areas. I had the pleasure to see and experience these updates. The updates are great and love the kick back feeling the theater now emits. The colors used are light and bright and they give off more of a welcoming vibe. I went with a fellow Yelper tonight to see Incubus for my sixth time (yes a big fan of this band) and the show was fantastic. I found it much easier to get a drink as the bartenders moved quickly and efficiently. We had great seats and the sound of course is still phenomenal. For a great concert no matter your musical tastes, this theater will provide an incredible experience. read more

Nice sized theater at The Virgin. It's not the largest or fanciest theater in Las Vegas, but it had pretty good acoustics. We were on the top floor, so getting out took a while. We only got a few drinks but the service was good. Not cheap but actually less than expected for a casino. read more

We went to The Theater to see Brett Michaels (Poison lead singer). The Theater is perhaps the worst venue I've ever been to, and I've been to literally dozens of venues over the years - San Francisco, San Luis Obispo, L.A., Orange County, San Bernardino, Riverside, San Diego, Athens, G.A., and Las Vegas. We had good tickets - eighth row. The seating was much tighter and much more uncomfortable than any economy airline seat I've ever had. It's folding chairs tied together with no arm rests. The seating has you sitting hip to hip and shoulder to shoulder with your neighbor on both sides. I'm talking hips touching. It was miserable. The sound quality was not good to my ears. It was boomy and much too loud. Mind you, I like loud music and go to metal shows primarily, historically about 30 to 35 shows a year. Between the tight seating and the poor sound quality, we left 30 minutes into Brett Michaels' show. It wasn't fun, so why stick around? You couldn't pay me to see a show again at The Theater no matter how good the act might be. The venue staff were all great, but that didn't overcome the seating and sound quality. read more

[Above all, will I be back?] Yes, It was my first time and an exciting experience! As a Vegas local, can't wait to go back! Zero complaint! 1) Ambience They had a renovation from Hard Rock, this place is a smaller size with about 4,500 capacity so it was intimate to see our performer DPR IAN and LIVE. Lighting and atmosphere was cool. I got a seat on the third floor (used an escalator) but I just stood up whole time next to a bar (good visibility) so I can't tell how the seat was but I think most seats are not bad view. The crowds were enjoying and supporting DPR show altogether by waving phones and shaking pom-poms. The volume was perfect. No sound/technical issues. 2) Service - Security Check: it took about 30 minutes to get in. The staff was friendly and efficient. - During the show: There were security staff to take care of the audience - 2 Bars: in the back of the theater and on the second floor. I went to the XG concert on Friday October 4th. The venue was nice and everything was well organized. I would like to thank the paramedics and security on duty that night who took care of me when I passed out due to heat exhaustion. I got out of the crowd because I was feeling dizzy, asked security for directions to the restroom which I walked towards but then passed out. The security and everyone who attended to me was really nice and caring. They made my experience at the concert even better. Thanks guys. read more

After providing the email confirmation of purchase, instructions from vendor on how to get my tickets that were transferred to me, and the buyers photo ID, they refused to give me my tickets. Went to enjoy Australian Pink Floyd. Last year we saw them at The Smith Center, before that right here at the theater. Enjoyed Australian Pink Floyd - Didn't enjoy the venue - I wont be back. Hopefully #aussiefloyd will go back to The Smith Center. Let's start with the seating - fold up chairs connected. Besides uncomfortable seats, once seated you are not even should to shoulder with your neighbor, more like shoulder to shoulder overlap. The seating is MORE uncomfortable and tighter than a SouthWest Airlines flight - HUGE MISS here. HUGE Next the sound system. Perhaps it was me, but others agreed - heavy bass and lots of high end, The only time we could heard midrange was thru the vocalist. This audio, to me, perhaps because the size or makeup of the theater was poor. Maybe The Smith Center spoiled us. Either way, I love the performance. But the seating and less than stellar sound system will keep me away from ANY act at The Theater. $19 beers, Ugg reallly? read more

This place is pretty bad ass. A very good performing arts venue. We had tickets up on the loft (Social Lounge) overlooking stage left, and right next to the VIP area/performer's entrance. There was even a bar all to ourselves . . . and a few others. TV screens everywhere that show the performance once it (the show) begins. BEWARE: No outside food, beverages or containers allowed, but the crowd control was efficient. Up in the Lounge, the railing is where you see the live show from and there are no seats along that rail. But just behind you, there are plenty of couches and chairs from which to plant your ass and watch the show from those TVs. Of the best indoor venues I have been to; and I don't like indoor shows because the venues usually suck. Not this one. Very nice and very comfortable. Sound is spot on. Dicks read more

Pretty good sound system and lighting, but the seating sucks. They cram folding metal seats in like sardines as if you were in some sort of school play at the cafeteria. Friendly staff and good bar keepers. I just wish they would treat people like human beings, and not try to pack them in so much. And what's with the cheap folding chairs? I attended the Final Fantasy Eorzean Symphony here. My review is strictly for the individuals that were handling security for the event. I was one of the first people in line, and was told to toss my water bottle in the garbage, since it couldn't be brought in. I had no other choice since I traveled from NJ. Even if the bottle was emptied, it was still not allowed. I later found out (hours after the concert) that the hotel security and event security were two separate groups. They attempted to recover the bottles that were binned, but couldn't even get them all. I spent the entire evening bummed that I just lost one of my items. There are other details that I noticed from security, but I'll refrain. The place itself is good (the wait staff and acoustics). However, I'd never want to return after my experience with this event security, and the loss of my expensive water bottle due to incompetence. I'd recommend avoiding this venue. read more

Actually the dumbest most over packed concert I've ever been to. It's actually like they sold out & kept selling more tickets to be greedy. Security & "staff" was rude asf. We were trying to get back down to the first floor after we got shoved up with the people that bought third floor tickets & a staff member asked us to show our tickets cuz she didn't believe we bought any after we went through airport security to get in.. I would understand if she was nice about it, but saying "where's your tickets at I wanna see." & rolling your eyes while saying it because we "look young" is not a good excuse. We thought we were on the first floor & mistakenly went to the second (vip) the first woman politely told us it was vip so we cracked a couple jokes & said we'll head back up. The one that asked for our tickets OVERHEARD & decided to butt in as we were walking away. Other "security" was blinding everybody with flashlights to "keep the lines moving" when there was literally NO SPACE TO MOVE. Talking to people like we're not PEOPLE is where you lost all my respect. We ended up moving to a different side & noticed something on the ceiling beams. There was MOLD, it was dripping water onto people & we know because it happens multiple times to us. We realized that's probably why it was STEAMING in there because the ac was just leaking & not working!!! Overall a TERRIBLE experience & I seriously think they need to be shut down just for having MOLD everywhere. I want my $250 back. read more

Whoever was working the box office for the Tems concert on 9/29 should be fired. I had 2 interactions with the nastiest women I have ever met. One of the videographers needed to get into the venue and I simply asked if she knew if anyone inside the venue could open the door for him. I literally said "hi is there anyone inside that could let him in after looking at me like I have 4 eyes she said as arrogant and condescending "I can't let anyone in, I'm not allowed to let anyone in" which than she proceeded to let the merch manger in. Not only that but she left her desk and opened the door. Yet for me the only thing she could do was give me an attitude and profile me as stupid. I also asked for water since usually WORKING staff is able to get water... she let me know as if I was asking for the credit card "we have water for purchase." Do better Virgin. Plenty of people worthy of working box office with personable, outgoing personalities not ones hiding behind a mask. I wouldn't bother talking to this women since she is so busy doing nothing behind the desk. God forbid you ask her a question. read more

Great venue, great staff, minus one particular person. You have a person checking tickets who shares the name with a Sesame Street character. I've been going to concerts for 20 plus years and this man was by far the rudest, most disrespectful venue employee I've ever encountered. I have about 6 friends I was with who would all say the same thing. I even spoke to a coworker of his who seemed to be aware of the issue. I don't write reviews for things ever yet here I am. AVOID!WARNING! Visited July 2023 for a show and security would not let me enter the venue, and guest services refunded our ticket cost, $420. We arrived and headed toward the entry area where a guest services employee was yelling that everyone with tickets needed to enter to the left. We had early entry, but did not see a sign posted for where/how to enter, so we followed the directions and made the long walk. Exasperated after not only this long walk, but also about Harmon being shifted from 3 lanes to 1, which resulted in insane traffic, where we had to abandon our cab and walk a mile in 116 degree heat, we finally reached the security area. There were no signs detailing prohibited/allowed items. I anticipated having no issue bringing in an empty plastic collapsible 1/2 liter water bottle, some candy, and a tin of mints in my fanny pack as I had checked the website and found nothing about prohibited items. The metal detector picked up my mint tin and I was asked to remove my fanny pack. The guard went through every compartment and confiscated my candy. Demoralized at the thought of taking in the show without any candy to cut through my dehydration dry mouth, I shifted towards the door of the venue. A guard approached and said I wouldn't be able to bring the water bottle in. Disgusted at how dehumanizing this was, I tossed my water bottle down towards the floor where it landed about 3 feet from her. She began yelling at me that I threw a water bottle at her and that she would not be letting me into the show. We pleaded our case to the guards to no avail. The head guard, Nacho (who refused to give us his real name) assured us he would check with his "team" about letting us in, but came back and said no. There was no manager to speak to, our fate was up to power-tripping security guards and Nacho. We spoke with the box office about a refund and were denied. We did observe the box office saying the show was "sold out" (it was not) and then upselling more expensive tickets. We spoke to the original guest services agent, Jan, that we had early entry, but she directed us around and we had a nightmare experience as a result. She was sympathetic because her line was the early entry line we should have entered, with a more mellow security screening. Jan got Tracy from guest services and we told her our experience and she was able to have the box office refund us. While we appreciated the refund, we were quite appalled that our entire evening was left up to Nacho, who refused to work with us on the issue, but issued his decision as if in a dictatorship. My husband then purchased a $20 ticket and entered the show because we figured at least one of us should see it. When he attempted to enter, the security guards said he couldn't enter because of me, to which he responded the issue was with me, not him. Once inside he noted that the entire top floor area was roped off with tons of space everywhere, so the box office "sold out" line is just that, a scam to get the most $. We are experienced concert goers having both attended hundreds of shows over the last 30 years. I can understand prohibited and allowed items, but communication about those expectations is a must. I will admit, I was caught off guard and reacted poorly, but did I deserve to have a teenager determine I wouldn't be allowed entry over a false accusation? I appreciate that Tracy was able to make the refund happen-an action that is pretty unheard of in concert ticket sales, but indicates that somehow, the Theatre did acknowledge they did mess this one up substantially. Many other reviewers (on Google) echo my experience-"not welcoming and demeaning", "security treated everyone like criminals", "airport like security", "security is awful", "rudest event staff and faking sold out shows only to scalp their own tickets", "events are not nearly as organized as when the hard rock owned it", and "kicked out because wouldn't meet the minimum".
