We now have a cantorial soloist, Jessica Tillium who has a lovely voice and does not have the opera back that Cantor Adesnick had. Since the start of COVID-19, the sound system has improved greatly due to all of the live streaming that is done for people unable to travel to services as well as Chevrah Torah and other educational classes. I think the rabbis and staff do an excellent job of making the shul feel inclusive. At the beginning of services, we are asked to turn to a person(s) sitting near us to introduce ourselves to each other. Many of the people have personal name tags they wear who support Temple Emanu-El. There are temporary name tags for those people who are guests and members. I don't think it can get much more Hamish as it already is. Temple Emanu El reaches out to the surrounding community, other synagogues, churches, and the underprivileged who are trying to start their lives over again from the Mary Freedom Hall and local food pantry, non-profit thrift stores, The synagogue community does many more acts of justice and repairing the world. Come visit us on Friday evenings at 7:30 for Shabbat Services.

Martin who broadcasted worship services on his YouTube page. Though I am not an active member of New Birth Missionary Baptist Church, I would love to follow worship services from time to time which works with my daily schedule. And what a luxury it is being able to view worship services and hear sermons wherever I may be or during any time of the day. I could not help but tune in and listen as the choir of New Birth Missionary Baptist Church praised. Their music and praise made me grateful that I grew up in a Baptist church as a child. I loved how Minister Dana Tyler acknowledged those who are watching online followed by her powerful prayer giving thanks to God, Hallelujah! And oh my, I felt chills listening to the beautiful voice of Janae Denise, which nearly put me in tears. Pastor Jamal Bryant's sermon (No wonder it didn't work) centered around how in God's will that somethings are not meant to be! How clean our records would be if we had not chosen the wrong people in our lives. Lives would not be so blemished, if it were not who you chose. You picked someone who could not nourish your soul! And God was already working it out because he has a better plan for you. We as humans are not for everybody! They got the best of you when you were in your worst moment and God has broken the tie! If God is not in it, the relationship will not work because God refuses to let you be connected in illegal alignment. As he concluded, he shared that everything you have been working on is getting ready to happen because all you needed was one good person; that person that believed in you! Embrace the new individuals that God is sending into your life. Like the other mega churches I continue to follow online, I hope to someday attend New Birth Missionary Baptist Church in-person in Lithonia, GA. Pastor Jamal Bryant's word was not only enlightening but gave me that inspiration I yearn for going into the week ahead.
