If you are serious about tennis or badminton, you have to go The Sweet Spot. To my knowledge, this is the only store in Edmonton that caters specifically to these two racquet sports. One thing that I really appreciate about these guys is the quality of their work and their products. They resting tennis racquets like pros! I was so happy with their work! Whatever you need for badminton and/or tennis - this is the place for you. If you're serious, that is. If you just wanna try it out and have fun a couple times a year, you could probably get something pretty cheap and somewhere like SportChek. All you people who can appreciate a beautiful racquet (or racket depending how you choose spell it) - go to The Sweet Spot!

    Have a ball ... and a racquet!

This is "the" racquet shop in the city to go to for all of your racquet sport needs. Whether you want tennis balls, badmonton birdies or a new string job on your Wilson K, you can get it done here by the personable staff at The Sweet Spot. There's a wide selection of premier and beginner racquets and the guys won't oversell if you let them know you're just a beginner. I appreciated their honesty, especially since I don't think I'm on the way to being the next Maria Sharapova. But if you do want the best, it's here. There's also a nice selection of stylish, practical and breathable clothing. There isn't a full stock of sizes and the space in the shop is a little cramped, but they do their best to bring in what you need.

Great store, great selection. Always carrying the most current gear. It's so fun to browse.

We went in here because my boyfriend has a new love of tennis and he wanted to price out shoes and accessories.

I needed to get a present for a friend who is insane about hockey, so I went to Game On Sports,…read morehoping I would find her something. I'm not a hockey fan at all, so I had never been in this store before. A friendly worker (maybe owner) greeted me, when I walked in. This place was full of sports merchandise--mostly hockey, but there was some football and a bit of soccer stuff too. I really like the t-shirts of old school football teams. They were made so they looked "vintage." Lots of jerseys, hoodies, t-shirts, and a whole lot of caps lined the walls. There were a few large displays of Oilers merchandise, like yo-yos, keychains, mugs, pucks, clocks, toy cars--pretty much anything you can think of. I ended up getting my friend an Oilers t-shirt and a toothbrush. I mean, who doesn't want to put the Oilers in their mouth? Okay, bad joke.

She helped me…read morefind a good Oiler's hat, taught me about sizes ( a small-medium, hmm), and what the different manufacturers do different. I learned a lot, and am grateful. Unfortunately they didn't have the Oiler's hat that I wanted and she recommended another place. She was helping another person before me and listening to her you can tell she is passionate and knows her stuff. Only issue, the company cuts costs and doesn't give business cards at this store. Cheap, and not a real cost cutter, and the signed Oiler's gear got sent to the Oiler's store in Kingsway. Which is a joke and we won't go back due to the horrible lack of service, or even acknowledgement that there are actual shopping customers in that store (4 of us). This place, though, was great! Friendly and superior service. Someone get this lady, Faith, to train other staff at other stores. OR fire those ASSHATS at the Oiler's store in Kingsway and get her in there.
