I'll start by saying they were nice people which is the reason I'm not giving them a 1... but the person cutting my hair did NOT listen to what cut I asked to get. I asked for a LOW fade and soon after I feel him buzzing near the top of my head... it was too late to say anything at that point, on top of that my hair was not blended, it was uneven and looked like a mushroom on the top of it. I had to go to another barber to get it fixed afterwards. Maybe just an off day for the barber that day but I'd recommend other options. read more

I get nervous trying new places to cut my hair. I have been cutting my own hair since high school and I only get a haircut professionally for extra special occasions. Today was those days. I needed a cut that would last two weekends because of back-to-back weddings. I called to see if they accepted walk-ins (they do) but they are so busy it's better to have an appointment. They got me one on the same day with Ivan R. I don't think I've ever been so happy with a haircut before. Ivan set me up with a fresh cut that now I understand why they are surgeons. Extremely disappointed in the service - and the attitude of the barber. After my son took a shower we can see that one side was clearly longer than the other. My dad went back the same day and the Barber got carried away in a conversation and CUT the wrong area. My son came back home and it wasn't fixed although I sent the barber pics of what needed to be fixed. He even admitted it, apologized and tried scheduling another appointment that week, but we were out of town. I tried scheduling another appointment when I got back to town and he said that the fix would be $40 for his time - WTF!? This is some BS!!! If it was done right the first or second time, and he paid attention and not get distracted, then our gas, time wouldn't have been wasted!! VERY disappointed!! They are busy but give plenty of time to professionally cut and style your hair. Ivan was amazing with my son (1.5 y/o) who screamed the whole time. We brought our two year old here for a haircut done by Paige. She was really great with our son. She was patient and she took her time with him. Our son does well with haircuts and last time we took him somewhere else they left him looking like he had a bowl cut. Paige was able to fix that and leave his hair so cute. I highly recommend this place and will continue to bring our son here. I found out about it through another mom who brings her toddler here. I've been to a Barber shop in Thousand Oaks and one in Simi Valley. I also went to Super Cuts in Moorpark. I ended up cutting my own hair using a cutter with a #4. These three places did not have people that knew what they were doing or the personality to work with customers. The Surgeons Barber Shop has thirty somethings cutting your hair and they know what they are doing. The customers that were in there during my hair cut were between 5 and 55 years of age. I had an amazing first cut there with Paige. She was thrilled to do a big chop, and did an amazing job. Just got a second cut there with Ivan and it was awesome as well. Went to get a haircut on 3/30/19. Arrived at 8am. 2 hr wait. The place was clean, 3 barbers working. The shop is clean, and the staff was super friendly. Crystal called my name. I sat in her chair, and she gave me the best haircut I've ever had. She advised to make an apt, so the wait would not be so long. Man, I really don't want to complain, but I do want to warn some people out there. I was super excited to try this place out as it was recommended by a friend. I drove to the location on the app here after calling in a reservation just minutes before. The person who answered failed to mention that they moved temporarily. Ok no biggie, they relocated nearby. He gives me address to another shop, but I had no idea it was inside another business because he didn't tell me. I figured they relocated to a new building and was looking for their name "surgeons". I call for about the 3rd time now and say I'm lost, and that I'm outside of this beauty salon, to which they say "yeah, were in there" would have been great to know! Oh well, let's not let that ruin the experience. I get inside, they didn't apologize but whatever, I have a seat and show the dude a photo of what I'm going for. He didn't ask to see it again, but finished with a hairstyle he decided to cut, not the style I asked for or showed :/ While he was cutting my hair, dude answers his private cell, and has a little 3 minute argument with his wife. Probably why he messed up on my hair because he was distracted While I'm getting my hair cut, these married men joke about prostitution, hand jobs and hookers. My barber then asks me if I've heard about a website I won't mention. He tells me I can get prostitutes on there.. Useless information for a Christian, and quite disturbing... Then at the end of it all, he charges me $24 (before tip) Yelp shows "$" not "$$" $ is like $10-17 He said "see you next time!" Don't count on it man :/ read more
