I don't know what is worse having an OK experience at the barbershop or receiving an unsolicited text message and an email from the barbershop I've used once in the last four years. During my one and only visit in this barbershop, I 100% felt like an outsider. It definitely seemed to be like a bunch of regulars that go to the shop and outsiders really aren't welcome. The barber that helped me was not very friendly at all. It was very middle of the road. Basically did my haircut in silence and paid to leave. It's very ironic I got an email almost the same week that I had scheduled another appointment with my barber. For the last 3 1/2 years and for every single big life moment i've gone to a different barbershop for EVERY haircut. So to receive a message after all this time seems incredibly peculiar. I feel like it was worthwhile to actually post a review because I was so indifferent to this shop. However, I definitely have a problem getting a text message and an email almost 4 years later after using the shop once! I immediately made sure to unsubscribe, but that's really disappointing. Just because you send a text message receipt doesn't mean you should bother customers years later when they haven't visited your shop ever again. read more

Cynthia is the best! Always love having fun conversations with her while getting my cut. I appreciate that she takes the time to get everything right and make sure I'm happy with the cut. She really knows her stuff when it comes to layering and styling curtains/middle part type of haircuts. I also love the atmosphere - everyone's always laughing and having a good time here it's perfect. read more

I had an amazing experience with Eli. Immediately understood what I wanted and made it look good on my head. Was adaptive to randomly cut short locks of hair, and gave advice for styling. Great conversation, good vibes all around read more

First time coming here. Was able to book Aaron H and he was prompt with our scheduled appointment time. Super friendly and personable guy and skilled to boot. Gave me a brand new haircut I never had before and it was perfect. Asked for a low taper and a trim and was not disappointed! Came home to a happy wife. I Definitely recommend. Chill barbershop environment too. Bustling service, people coming in and out, and for good reason. Will come back for my next cut! read more

Justin H. always a great job on my crazy gray old man beard (and what's left of the hair on my head) Always on time and I love the laid back atmosphere in the shop Everyone is very friendly and welcoming Highly recommended read more

This was our first experience with DeSean at Men's Parlour. My son and I got, without a doubt, the best haircuts we've ever had. DeSean is the coolest cat you'll ever meet, mellow, easy-going, informative, and really listens to what you want but also lends his knowledge and tells you what he thinks is gonna look good on you. I really respect that. I was looking and watching all of the other barbers doing cuts while we were there (about 4-5) and all of them looked amazing as well! I don't think you could go wrong at Men's Parlour. This place is an absolute win, 5 you have to give it a try. read more

So happy we found this barber for my son. He is only 3 years old. I've tried kids hair cut places but they don't do a good job and are too expensive. Here is why we have them -Great setup! Clean and spacious. -Staff: everyone was so friendly and welcoming -Quality: awesome haircut for my little guy! We just said do whatever and loved the outcome. Clean lines, good fade. Also so patient and sweet to my son. -Affordable: they charge a reasonable price for a haircut $30. (Think it's cash only) This is a place he can continue to go to as long as they are open and we are in simi. One thing to note, this is a barber for mostly adults, so music, decorations and conversation reflect that. So if you are super sensitive about your child hearing profanity in music. Ummm it's going to happen while you are here.. so just be aware and don't knock the business for that on a review. read more

Ruben can cut hair! I have been in once before and was highly impressed. Today was more of the same. He cut my long hair off, trimmed and lined up my beard, and I walked out feeling like a million bucks. Not only will I be back, but I'm letting all my friends know that Mens Parlour is the spot to get their cuts. read more

This place is great. Gives you a real New York vibe for some reason. There so much jokes flying around which makes the time pass by fast. I always go to Justin and he always delivers a great job. Clean cut + welcoming staff + Good music + Clean environment + cash only - no business card exchange - Overall great experience and better than I thought. I travel all over the county for work and it's always a hit & miss when it comes to a barbershop. Out of 3 shops I've tried in Moorpark & Simi, this will be the place I will be coming to from now on. Can't remember the guys name but he has tattoos and knows how to cut well. Thanks again guys! read more

Visiting family in Simi Valley, I tried Men's Parlour for my post Covid-19 haircut. My mistake!!! I walked in with long hair and asked only for a clean-up. I walked out "scalped." JR is a decent fellow, but he didn't listen and cannot cut hair. By far, without a doubt or question, the worst haircut I've ever received. Lopsided, TOO SHORT and an uneven fade. Stay far, far, far away!!! 2 stars, instead of just 1, because I was refunded my money. read more

This shop is around the corner from my house and when it opened I was happy there was finally a legit spot to get a good proper fade. My friend Todd Huber let me know about them so I was happy to give them a try. In the beginning it was cool because guys like Marco were still taking walk ins during weekdays. As time went along it was appointments only at $30 per cut. I'm okay with that but now there are other spots in Simi that provide the same quality for less. That's why I stopped coming to this establishment. I had been getting my fades consistently at Los Angeles Avenue Barber shop since I made that choice and was happy. I'm writing this review two days before my birthday and got the news from my regular person he was no longer working at that spot. I try my best to schedule appointments at other places and no luck. So I had two choices which was to find someone else at LA Ave Barbers or give Men's Parlour another chance. Went with giving Marco and his shop another chance cuz hey I like the guy why not. Pretty disappointed in that choice. I walk in sign up and Brooke who's working the desk says go with JR he's the shortest line and there's no one else waiting for him. Right on. Thanks. Forgot that this place was cash only so I went to the 7-11 close by which took no more than 5 mins to come back. Here I am at this point expecting it to be no more than 30 minutes to wait but an hour goes by. I'm a patient guy but it's harder to do when no one acknowledges you saying what's up or how much longer I should expect to wait. The whole time I'm listening to Kendrick and Trump make his victory speech on C-Span, listening to random conversations my patience grows thin and I'm done having my time wasted an hour and 15 minutes after I first walk in. So I'm gone. This place will still have others continue to support it but not me anymore. Their primary barbers are good but for me, there are other fish in the sea. I just don't get the vibe and customer service to call this spot to be my barber shop. I was willing to drop whatever they had asked as far as price is concerned but they never sold me on it. I do wish Marco the best of luck and positive vibes but it just ain't for me. read more

I had heard Soo many great things about this shop. My hubs was getting tired of driving to TO for his cut. I am a stylist, but I have been down due to surgery. I was excited to schedule and pay for my hubs to get a cut & beard trim. I pre-paid $60 for cut/trim/tip based on pricing I had seen online. First off the stylist didn't wash his hair. I sent him in with dirty hair so it didn't get washed twice in the same day. Second, The blend was non existent. Hubs showed him a picture of the cut and it wasn't even close. All in all I was SUPER disappointed. I wanted to chalk it up to a bad day, we all have them. But I called the shop and the guy that answered said it is what it is. Ok, I won't send him there again. I just hope everyone else faires better than we did. read more

Men's Parlour was great stop for a sharp cut. Prices were good for a walk in (25$) and the barbers are all well trained as well as friendly. Make sure to ask for him if you want a guaranteed fresh look. read more

I needed a haircut today, I didn't feel like driving out to my usual place in TO Barbers can be hit or miss, you just don't who is cutting your hair, or how long they've done it. I'm glad I walked into the men's parlour today. I knew the place was legit as soon as I walked in They had 6 barbers cutting hair, and they were all so doing a great job. Today Waac my first time here, but it definitely won't be my last read more

I was in desperate need of a beard trim. Job interview that day, last minute walk in, and I'm damn glad I showed up to the Men's Parlour. Gus took care of my wild man bushiness, and he took care in making sure I liked what was in the mirror. He asks questions, goes the extra mile, and has a mindset that more of us should adopt. Driven and meticulous with detail, Gus has done one of the best jobs on my beard I've ever seen. So in short, Gus is legit and an awesome, humble dude. I'll be a regular now. read more

Marco is one of the most talented barbers I've ever tried in the last 30 years. He understands how to make you look good even before he cuts your hair. He has a great memory too because somehow someway he remembers the great cut he gave you last and consistently delivers time after time...even with 100s of clients. He takes walk ins and most of the time you might have 2-3 people waiting in front of you...but you won't be waiting long & he's well worth the wait. Along with his high quality though is a quick hand. His average haircut time is approx 15 min. Lastly he is also great with kids. My son doesn't normally like going to get his hair cut but he has a great experience every time with Marco. He knows how to talk to them and make them feel comfortable. read more

My teenage son was looking for a place that would help him learn how to cut and style his curls and not just ask which number razor he wanted. He doesn't mind the extra drive from San Fernando to Simi Valley (vs Supercuts nearby) to get a cut from Cynthia. I'm also very happy with the cost which is great value. read more

Let me tell you about me experience there. I arrived with my two sone for a haircut on a Sunday morning. We were walking and and I was a bit crowded but when I went up to the counter the person working the "book" said they were pretty well booked up. One on the chairs was not as booked up as the others and she only had one other child's hair to cut. She looked like she was in the middle of another child's haircut. I figured maybe 30-40 minutes before they would see one of my boys. 30-40 minutes goes by. 50 60 minutes goes by. 90 minutes later she is still working on the same little boys haircut. Then another little boys jumps in the chair. 30 minutes later I have had it and walk out. This place is ridiculous. It's definitely not worth the wait. Lots of places can cut hair, better and quicker. read more

Born and raised in Simi and work here. Have cut my own hair and struggled to find a place to do my hair right when I don't shave it all off. I've been to every men's shop in town and the chains. I have never walked away with the cut I described. I met Marco today. We had a nice conversation and he is an impressive man. Self made. Understands the importance of customer relationships and service. I'm usually concerned when I see 3 people waiting. Marco and Dominique are fast and precise. Quality is not sacrificed. I will be back and already shared my appreciation for their work with friends which means this place is going to get even more busy. Did I mention he is open on Sunday and Monday unlike others? This is huge for me. Try them, you won't be disappointed. Check them out. You won't be disappointed and the price is more than fair! read more

Barber review only: I made an appt to see Gustavo. Sat down & explained what I wanted. He was in a super miserable bad mood, rude and confrontational. He didn't listen to a word I said, I was very clear, even had photos. He didn't want to look at them or ask questions, Just wanted to get me out fast. I should have walked out, could not believe I allowed myself to put up with that. My mistake. Don't make the same one. read more
