So I had called around to the few locals tanning salons our town has and I decided one the less…read moreexpensive one that was on my way to work over the one that I went to all through high school and in my early 20s. That was a mistake. A few years ago I had gone to Hollywood Tans and the girl there told me that the way they did it was through memberships that are automatically taken out of a credit card. I asked her that if I needed to could I pay one of the months with a different card or cash if I needed to and she said yes. So I signed up for the three month membership. I went for a month and was extremely unhappy as I had barely any color and the beds were always dirty. After the 2nd month my father fell fatally sick and was admitted to the hospital for total kidney failure. I called Hollywood Tans to tell them that I wouldn't be utilizing the last month of my 3 month membership becusse I was 1) completely unsatisfied with their beds and 2) would not be living in Vernon anymore and would be down where my Father was in the hospital getting dialysis every day with his failed kidneys. They informed me that regardless I would still be charged for the next month even if I wasnt going to be using it or not. I thought that this was pretty awful and asked to speak to a manager and I was told there was none there. I ended up having the contract I signed in the bottom of my purse and it said that memberships could be canceled only if there was a situation that caused you to physically be unable to tan. Now, I know contracts that are way more serious than TANNING have been broken for less. I went in and again asked for a manager and there was still no manager there. I again explained the situation to the girl and showed her the contract and she told.me in so many words that I was SOL. They refused to cancel the membership (mind you this was 2 weeks before my 2nd month was even over so it was entirely possibly to not have the charge go through). I contacted their corporate headquarters and of course didn't hear back and after that I called my bank and asked them to put a stop payment on any charges from Hollywood Tans and explained the situation and they did it AND waived the fee for doing so because they aren't heartless. Fast forward to today when I decided to try out Hollywood Tans only because there are literally 2 tanning places to choose from and the other is totally out of my way, double the cost and their hours dont work with my work schedule. I gave the woman at the counter my first and last name and told her yes I had been there years ago but this time I just wanted to do something without a membership and she pulled up my name and said that it showed I had a balance. I explained the above situation to her and all she could do was smile ear to ear and say Yeahhhhhhh there's really nothing we can do about it, and exclaimed again how I couldn't tan there because I had a balance, loudly and in front of a room full of women. She offered no solution, she was completely unsympathetic to my situation and went on again to reiterate that ones it's in the system that's it. She didnt even tell me what the balance was and if I wanted to pay it off, she just wanted to get me out of the way so she could help the women in line behind me. I think that this is absolutely appalling and I was so embarrassed. Aside from the fact that you shouldn't go here because of this awful customer service their beds are terrible and they never clean them, they rely on the person that was in it to do that by leaving a bottle of windex and roll of paper towels. I went almost every day for almost 2 months and I BARELY got a base tan. Spend the extra $20 and go to Sun Station. There's a reason they have been around forever and I know they would NEVER in a million years be so cold hearted and refuse to cancel a membership worth 40$ for someone's who's father was dying and they knew they couldn't commit to a month of tanning.

I got the one month package ( a bit pricey) than what I'm used to but the place was very clean and inside the tanning room it self was also very clean and had cute little products you can use before and after tanning. The tanning products are very reasonable with their prices. So if you ever in the Goshen area definitely check them out. I'm excited to see my results as I'm someone who don't get much outside time to go to a pool or beach do to work so this will definitely help. They are closed on Sundays but they are open Mon-Sat and their hours are pretty good. They have the stand up tanning ( which I don't like) but they also have the bed you can lay down in and just relax lol. So check them out if you in the area

Leah was incredibly warm, friendly, and professional during the entire process. She assisted me with figuring out how much time we needed for each bridesmaid, and everything was timed perfectly. The day went so smoothly, and I was able to unwind and have fun with Leah, her assistant, and the gals. I had decided on an updo because the back of my dress was so ornate, and I was nervous because I typically don't like the way I look with an updo. Everything changed when Leah crafted my updo. She gave me the most beautiful, romantic, and timeless updo for my wedding day - I loved it, my husband loved it, and I felt gorgeous on my wedding day all thanks to Leah. I have also gotten a lob haircut by Leah - and it was amazing. I live in Washington, DC and have gone to some fancy salons in search of a great cut. When I visit the Hudson Valley once or twice a year, I prefer to go to Xo Salon to see Leah because she is that good - a talented artist with truly creative instincts. Instead, I finished out my sessions and waited until my final visit to leave an honest review. The overall cleanliness and sanitation of this place is extremely concerning. The tanning rooms are very dark, which clearly helps hide how dirty everything actually is. The rooms and common areas are messy and unsanitary, and there is nowhere to place or hang personal belongings in the room. Beyond that, the atmosphere is very unprofessional. There are dogs inside the salon, a baby in the front area at times, and employees sitting barefoot with their feet up on the counter. The entire experience made me uncomfortable every single visit. The tanning bed I was repeatedly assigned to is poorly maintained and in need of service. It would noticeably burn my face while barely tanning the rest of my body, and the fan in the bed was broken as well, making the experience even more uncomfortable. A tanning salon should feel clean, sanitary, relaxing, and professionally maintained. Unfortunately, this place was the complete opposite. I would not return, and I personally cannot recommend it.
