This is a nice, reliable place. You will get a delicious meal here - it will be good quality, generous and tasty. I came with friends who lived in Türkiye for a time and they highly appreciated the authenticity of the menu and the dishes. We had a range of items, great dips, kebabs and salads. Everything was good. I would recommend you book as it's very popular. Also, if you are travelling by car you may be challenged to find parking nearby. I've heard good things about this place (from the gf who goes often) and went to check it out, seeing as I was in Turkey earlier this year. We kind of ordered a little too much food, we got the chicken shish, one of the gourmet pide's, and turkish ravioli. Whoops. Their chicken shish is SO good...normally chicken gets overcooked but this was a great blend of tender and juicy. The gourmet pide was pretty good but also extremely heavy...if that's not your thing don't get a gourmet pide. The ravioli tasted like I the one I had back in Istanbul...however the ravioli literally took 30 minutes more to come out after our first two dishes. I made a joke that no one's ordered the ravioli in ages so they had to make it from scratch...I think I was right. The place wasn't extremely busy, but the server was very apologetic. I'd give this place 4 stars but that wait for ravioli really brings it down a star. Consistently bad service in recent weeks for myself and at least 2 other people I've spoken with since. In one meal i had overcooked/burnt and inedible pide, undercooked (hard and white) hot chips and items left off a snack pack, I can't understand how the chips weren't cooked as based on the amount of oil in the snack pack, they had plenty to fry chips in. I only ordered 3 things, everything was gross. The one consistent thing across all orders recently seems to be the excruciatingly long wait time, rudeness of staff and bad quality of food. I went to this shop way before I know yelp, and almost forgotten this place. I feel like Turkish food tonight and I remembered this place so here I am. My friend took me here on several occasions before and I love the honest simple food in here So tonight I ordered mixed grill and imam bayildi, the famous Turkish stuffed eggplant dish. Old story mention that the priest was almost fainted with the amount of oil that he was discovered on this dish, so much for healthy vegetarian dish, eh? Any way I'm happy with the mixed grill, chicken, lamb and beef, enough amount to share for 2 people or single person if you are hungry. The eggplant as you see on the pictures will give you good idea about the oil that I mention, it was good flavour though, those smokiness of paprika and hint of cinnamon, cumin and coriander was enough to enjoy this dish. read more

We've been lucky the last few times we have visited as we didn't have to wait for a table. Could it be that people couldn't be bothered to wait in winter? Possibly. Both times we have been in the last few months, there were still quite a few tables occupied, so not quiet by any stretch. I prefer going here when it is more than just Dr. Skorpio and I because the serves are MASSIVE. If we go with more people, we can partake in more dishes. On this last visit, we ordered a medium mixed dip plate to share. While it is $18 which seems a bit steep, it does go a long way. We received two bread baskets to accompany the dips - filled with freshly baked (and still warm) turkish bread cut up into bite sized morsels. God this was so good. The mix of fresh warm bread with the dips warmed the soul. This is a must order, the dips are fresh and vibrant and the bread is the perfect match. If you order a sheesh kebab dish, you may even have some extra dip to have with it - if you don't mop it all up before the mains arrive! As most of us had a late lunch that day, we only ordered a chicken pide and a chicken sheesh kebab dish to share for the rest of our meal. The chicken pide was very good, freshly cooked straight from the oven. It was really hot - if you order it, take care not to burn your mouth. Have you ever ordered a pide and lifted a slice and some moisture or water seeps out on the plate? Not surprising as it has tomato, onion and sometimes spinach which all have some water in it. Well this dish had none of that and it had those ingredients plus mushrooms. There was the perfect amount of melted cheese inside, just enough to hold everything together. Even though we had so much bread with the dips, I could have easily consumed this whole chicken pide it was that good. The chicken sheesh plate was also pretty good. Decent sized serves of succulent chicken thighs, cooked over charcoal. This dish came with pita bread pieces and a side salad. It went down well with the leftover dips. Despite your first impression, this isn't just another cheap and nasty kebab joint. The pides here are excellent and you're spoilt for choice with vego and meat options. I'm a fan of the vegetarian pide with potato, onion, spinach and cheese, and the gourmet chicken, spinach, mushroom, onion, tomato, cheese and parsley combination. There's also a range of traditional desserts like baklava and bird's nests. If you're dining in, book a table out the back and make the most of the BYO option with a bottle of wine. For so long now, Sultans Table Lebanese Restaurant has been the kebab shop of choice for my family. There really are no other places that make kebabs quite as good. Their dips are divine and the meat platters incredulistic! All the food is amazing and so fresh as well. The Falafel's are made to order and the Dolmades are a vegetarian treat to behold. They do eat in and takeaway, this includes delivery, as my brother has used this option on occasion. The courtyard in the back is the place to sit if you're eating in as it's not only a nice and gentle atmosphere, but it's free from the smoke that sometimes permeates from the kitchen and wafts into the inside dining area. The staff are all very friendly and it's a real delight to go their for dinner, lunch or any time in between. Whenever I'm in the area I always try and fit in a kebab, extra chilli, they really do make the best Lebanese food that I've ever had. read more

This place is fucked. I have never experience ruder customer service, they act as if taking your order is killing their first born. Arrogance must be a free side dish at this joint or something? Service aside... while waiting for them to cook our order I couldn't help but feel sick as I started to notice all the produce in the displays looking as old as Betty white. Withered browning lettuce, stuffed capsicums drying out from being uncovered for hours, tomatoes with prune skin and turning white from being left out too long, red onions turning into brown mush, dips drying out into crusty peaks.... all the "fresh produce" on display was going yuk from not being covered by glass windows or lids, just sitting out in the open all day. Flys having a party inside the displays. I felt so sick, pointed it out to my mate and we legged it. No fucking way were we eating at that place. I wouldn't feed that slop to my dogs. Turkish cuisine? More like a bunch of turkeys selling remnants of what use to be edible food. read more

Don't discount Sultans Table as a typical takeaway spot. The front shop is set for takeaway, but the queue out front for a table on the back patio is a signal that this is no ordinary Turkish joint. Once you're seated in back you'll get a true feel for what this restaurant is all about. Tables are set for larger parties but there were a few couples enjoying dinner together. We had a group of 7 and started with the medium sized mixed dip plate, the zucchini fritters, and the chicken Pide. There was more than enough food to get us going, but we needed more bread for the dips. Being BYO made it nice and easy to relax while we waited for the next set of mains to arrive. We shared the mixed grill kebabs, chicken kebabs, and grilled lamb kebabs along with a couple other small dishes. All of the food was well presented and tasted amazing. We all walked out of there completely stuffed wishing we had room for desert. When the bill came we were blown away and thought they got something wrong. For 7 people to gorge themselves it was only $108 total! We will be back! read more

Yes, it's going to be me .... I'm going to be "that Gal" who gives an "A-ok" to a restaurant that everyone raves about ... Saturday night at The Sultan's Table, party of three. We stroll in with a bottle of red, pleased with ourselves that we made an advance booking because the place was packed. Cheers for planning ahead, we exclaimed! We totally beat the system! The people working there were scrambling about, pides were thrown left to right like an old Italian movie, and the "Big momma" of it all, stood at the hostess stand (cabinet with cutlery), telling patrons it'd be quite a wait for a table... Ha, we were in... We gave her our name, and after struggling to find it, she had a look around the tiny inside area of the restaurant and quite obviously discovered that all of the tables were full. hmm ... then, in Turkish, a language I'm lucky enough to understand, she told one of the waiters how the table hed just sat was supposed to be for us and to see if anything outside was available ... Hmm Hmm ..... There wasn't anything ... And for twenty or so minutes we stood with the pack of hummus hopefuls. We finally got a table in the inside area, and if you can, definitely try and get somewhere outside! It's much more relaxed and you're not shuffled about as people and waiters squeeze on by..... We waited again for ten minutes for someone to come over, and no one did ... Mind you, we were five feet from Big Momma who could see that we were doing the casual "look around the restaurant hoping to make eye contact with a waiter" jive. My partner finally went and got us glasses ... And water ... And menus ... And after another fifteen minutes or so, a waiter in a sweat billowed over and asked if we were ready to order. I get it. Saturdays are busy ... But a bit of Turkish hospitality never hurt anyone! And then the food ... I've heard nothing but good things about this place, but I was shocked when I looked at the menu prices; they were outrageous! The sit-in prices are significantly more expensive than the takeaway ones ... A large dip platter costs you around $22 and it DOESN'T EVEN COME WITH BREAD! But they brought us two baskets of fresh pide which was deliciouusss, so we assumed it came with it, but later we found the two baskets at $3 each, plastered to the bill.... We wouldn't have ordered two baskets, but we thought it was complimentary! RAWWWRRRR! .. anywho, the dips were DELICIOUS! Especially the pumpkin, mint, and yogurt ones, but for $30 ???? Not so much ... I ordered the vegetarian kebab platter, which was nice! At around $15 it was affordable and if partnered with something smaller, could've been split. Grilled mushrooms, eggplant, tomatoes, etc., served with a small salad, dips, and Lebanese bread. Huh??? ... My friend and partner split the grilled kebab platter, which was taxed at $29!!!!! Outrageous! Especially considering that the meat was dry and overcooked and didn't come with dips like mine did. The portion was large, but definitely not worth the price you pay! During the whole time we ate, no one asked us if it was alright, if we needed anything, etc. The only interaction was when "Big Momma" came over and said, "Are you done?" and then screeched across the room for them to bring us the bill so the next table could sit ... We were shuffled out of there, and instead of fulfilling our sweet teeth with baklava, we went across the street to Cow and Moon for laid back gelato. Tips: Don't go on weekends. Nope, still good food. Even if the service is a bit lacking! I ordered home delivery from here a few weeks ago and it took them over 2 hours to get the food to me and by then it was stone cold. And no discount for the trouble. Which means that I will never be ordering home delivery again and they've just lost out on someone who used to get it at least once a week to someone who when she can be bothered to walk up the road to pick it up. read more

Ok folks, a new standard in kebabs, shish and all things Turkish and yummy! The wood-fired shish of chicken or lamb that we had was absolutely stunning! The lamb was so succulent and tasty I really couldn't have asked for better, and the chicken was beautiful. To be honest, this place looks like a fly-blown hole in the wall, and really it is, but the food is unreal. Out the back is a nice seating area, and in front the takeaway bar where it looks like any old kebab shop. Bit like the Tardis really, a lot bigger and better than it seems!! The service is spotty, the English of the staff sometimes dubious, and the general cleanliness is probably not what we would all like, but none of it matters! It is cheap and cheerful. The mezze plate of dips and warm Turkish bread is a good lunch on it's own - the bread is so tasty, and the dips amazing! O dear, I am gushing, but seriously, give this place a try, you won't regret it. read more

This is one of my all-time favourites. The food is succulent and filling. The mixed grills and chicken pide are a highlight. I'm not sure why, but Turkish food goes amazingly with a few glasses of red, and this place doesn't charge corkage! The only issue is that the place effectively doesn't take bookings. Yes, they say they do, but I've been there a number of times and it doesn't seem to matter whether or not you have a booking. I've had about 10 people in the course of my life come up to me and rant and rave about how good this place is. I was sorely disappointed when I decided I would see for myself. I was there for a party and honestly I think it's the restaurants policy to say 'stuff the comfort of customers, we're going to cram in as many people as possible'. We were at a long table in the outdoor area and you literally couldn't get to a seat because they were back to back with the table next to us. When they left about half way through our dinner everyone just pushed their seats out and breathed comfortably for the first time in the evening. The food was nothing extraordinary. I love middle eastern cuisine and I find it's a pretty safe bet - it's not too hard to do well, but some places go above and beyond. This place was comfortable playing it mediocre. This is Turkish kebab galore, and at a really good price - there were stuffed capsicum, vine leaves and other goodies for approx $4. That is a really good buy. The shop is open late 7 nights and is open for lunch too. They offer catering for parties and functions and the deco in the shop is Turkish inspired - with low seated chairs and pillows. The first thing you notice apart from the great prices for the food is the cleanliness - you can tell the owners take pride in what they do, it is a family run business. This shop does really well on the weekend, with plenty of orders for take away shish kebabs. read more

The service is nice too, they are friendly and well meaning, although perhaps not so efficient as they could be. Sultan's Table offers a takeaway service as well as having a restaurant. The restaurant seems a bit shabby - slightly wobbly tables, dubious decoration and all a bit tired. I'd recommend enjoying a takeaway from Sultan's Table in the comfort of your own home, rather than eating in the restaurant. If you do this, a visit is well worth it, but I think to have dinner in the restaurant might be a bridge too far... read more

This place is popular and from your first bite you'll see why. The food here is amazing. Packed with flavour and the dips are out of this world. It LOOKS like it's just a late night kebab stop, however once you walk up to the counter it becomes apparent that the Sultans Table is so much more. With something for meat eaters and vegetarians alike the food is fresh, plentiful and full of flavour. Went last night before a gig with my boyfriend. Had to place our orders twice because they didn't bother asking if we were eating it or taking away when we got there. Boyfriend got his meal and it was about 25 minutes before I eventually got frustrated and suggested we go as we had a gig (boyfriend ate his entire meal in this time). It was only when we stood up to leave that someone acknowledged that my meal was still on its way. Didn't have time to wait around for it, nor the patience to sit there and eat it, so we left.
