They appeared somewhat confused about whether they were in the right place or not. The server at the counter tried to help however there appeared to be confusion around whose name the booking was under. Anyway, eventually world order was restored and the party was pointed in the right direction. I stepped up to the counter and just as I asked for a table for three one of the elderly had returned to clarify some details. She didn't excuse herself or anything remotely courteous, she just began to talk over the top of me. The server then proceeded to answer the lady's questions about future functions, bookings and some basic pricing for a party. I found the whole thing quite annoying really. Especially when the server had already begun to engage with us. Perhaps it would have been much more appropriate to just direct us to our seats prior to accomodating the interrupter lady. It would have taken all of 10 seconds. We were eventually seated and given our menus. It was taken for granted that we knew the protocol, no explanation as to where to order, if there was table service, order drinks at the bar... nothing. A waitress came over after what I thought was an appropriate amount of time and asked if we were ready to place our food order. She was friendly however just left of centre in terms of enthusiasm but quite adept nonetheless. At least my question as to protocol was now answered. Our drinks arrived quite quickly and our meals soon after. We all ordered a chicken parma so unfortunately for the sake of this review I can only comment on one dish. The dish was nice, a decent sized parma with a generous topping of cheese and napoli sauce. The chicken was thick, I mean really thick as in a whole breast. I found it slightly unusual for a parma to be so thick however I must say it was cooked perfectly. It was cooked right through as chicken should be and it was moist. The accompanying chips were thick cut and quite tasty. The salad was actually quite a good salad with fresh ingredients and a nice dressing. In all, the meal as far as pub meals go was good. The place itself was ok, nothing stood out as being a feature however it was neat and clean. It is interesting to note the rather large car park was almost full. Upon arriving I thought we may struggle to get a seat however as it turns out about 95% of the visitors were in the pokey venue attached to the hotel. 'Conveniently' there were sliding doors directly from the restaurant into the gaming room. This was the first time I have visited this place and to be honest I don't know if I'll return. The food was ok, the service was ok and the facility was ok too however it just didn't press any buttons for me.

The Starlight room hosts all those dinner and show tribute nights - you know, where BABBA, or the legends of rock bust out the classics for a package price. It is also available for hire- I attended an engagement party, as well as a couple of 21st birthday parties here, and each time the room has been beautifully presented, and the service has been excellent. The finger food provided at all the parties has been delicious! So two thumbs up for consistency. Easy parking and a playground for kids makes the venue family friendly, and perfect for a nice evening out.

I chose it for its proximity-literally a 1 min walk across the street from the terminals. We booked an executive king suite and also paid an extra $A 109 for an early check-in as our flight from the U.S. arrived at 6:30 am. We were able to get a room around d 9 am which gave us a chance to freshen up before heading into the city after our 24-hour journey. Our room at the end of the hall on the 6th floor (654) had a curved wall of windows overlooking T2 of the airport and couldn't have been any more convenient. The main uber stand was just across the street as was the airport sky bus into town. Our king bed was firm and comfortable and the room was very quiet with a lot of blackout shades. The single sink bathroom had a tub and much too small shower with no shortage of water flow. It was perfect for our brief visit and we booked breakfast with our rate and the generous buffet ($A50 if bought ala carte) had a wide variety of hot food, juices, breads and cooked to order eggs. None of us live anywhere near Melbourne, so she was stranded and completely alone. She has limited mobility and requires assistance. Needless to say, we were beyond worried. I am so thankful we found the Parkroyal Melbourne Airport, and their wonderful team. We can't thank them enough for their kindness and professionalism. From the moment she was in their care she was safe, secure, comfortable and happy. Above and beyond doesn't even begin to describe the service they provided. They handled her bags, escorted her to her room, made sure she was comfortable, and arranged room service. Mum said the food was outstanding! She could not say enough good things about her experience, and the wonderful staff. And they helped her to her flight the next day! We can't thank the staff enough. It can be tough dealing with the public. Please know that your genuine care and kindness has a huge impact. This team deserves special recognition. On behalf of our entire family THANK YOU!
