The prices are reasonable, although "bankrupt" implies something on par with poundland, its not quite that cheap, but you'll find a bargain. I'm not sure whether a delivery servce is available as lots of the items are quite large and bulky I should think there would be.

This shopping mall is HUGE and has many floors that are accessible via stairs or escalator. Seems like a great place to come for your every day needs and even for special occasion wants. They have luxury brand stores & more casual clothing stores. Lots of different coffee shops here, as well, lovely for a pick me up while doing some shopping! By the Starbucks, there are stairs with each step covered with turf that made for a pleasant area to sit and rest before getting up to shop again or just walk around.

It hasn't changed a lot since over a decade ago; its layout remains the same and has similar shops that would attract those on a budget since it has many bargain stores. In terms of class, it is certainly not upmarket and not the most attractive of Shopping Centres but it is okay for a day out. They have a lower and upper mall operated by lifts/escalators. It is easy to get lost on a first visit but it is also easy to walk around in circles! It is a good place to buy basic items for the home as they have a variety of discount stores like B and M, Poundworld and Poundstretcher. The mall could do with air conditioning as it is often warm inside. It is spacious enough though and has plenty of room to manoeuvre wheelchairs and pushchairs.

There are a reported 130 shops in the Strand, and they are pretty good, probably better namewise than St John's precinct in Liverpool, with Marks and Spencers, Boots, Thorntons, WH Smith, Superdrug, New Look, Clinton's, mobile phone shops, pet shops, clothes shops and innumerable discount stores, such as Wilkinsons, Poundland and B&M. There are few restaurants or cafes, at least none that really appeal, perhaps why I consider the Strand a dash around sort of shop; get in get out. There are good parking facilities, which is really reasonably priced.

When walking through the arcade, you'll pass by many classy shops which you probably won't go into unless you're prepared to spend a fair amount. There are a couple decent cafes, such a milkshake bar and Caffe Nero if you're just looking for a drink. By inspection, all areas of the arcade are well looked after and has good security with CCTV installed. I find Keys Court a relaxing place to walk through as it is always less congested than main streets. This definitely one of my favourite parts of town.

The place is always kept clean and tidy and there is often a visible security presence meaning that you can have the confidence to shop without concern as you are made to feel very safe and relaxed. The aesthetics here are good and it is another reason that natives of Liverpool have to be proud of their city centre which in general is kept in immaculate condition by a hard working team and an excellent council.

What I like most about this shopping centre is that there even some independent small businesses here. It's not ALL Sayers, the O2 Shop, Home Bargains, et al. Another neat thing about this particular shopping centre is the exceptionally large amount of charity shops you will find here. If you love bargain hunting, second hand book browsing, and vintage/rescued clothing, you'll have a blast perusing the wares in the many different charity shops here. I find it difficult to drag myself away. Of course if you do prefer the chain stores, and the big names, you will find some of them here, as well as in the Pyramid Shopping Centre just next door.

With Central train station combined within the centre, it does feel a bit odd but there are a few shops such as a newsagents, cake shop and Thorntons - most of which you will tend to just pass by, either if your getting off a train or simply using the centre as a passageway to Bold Street or vice versa. The only couple of useful shops I find here are CeX and Sainsbury's Local (which I would only go to if I'm desperate). There is nothing special about this area; I treat it just as a mere shortcut.

Immediately you will see a stall selling newspapers and magazines. There is also a Thornton's on the right hand corner of the entrance, where you can sit in or take away. You will also find a newsagent, Superdrug and a branch of Sainsburys which is small but has everything you'll need, from yet more newspapers and magazines through fresh bakery and fruit/veg, meat, sandwiches and pasta sauces to pinpoint just a few items. Expensive wines/champagne/spirits are kept behind the counter, so you may have to queue just to see whether or not they stock Jack Daniels or whatver your tipple of choice is. The station itself has a spacious concourse and easy access onto the platforms; it's an easy process, even from the perspective of a tourist (I used to come here as a tourist before moving to the city).

The shop and the cafe down the road are all run by the same family, with the mum and brothers and sisters running both between them. They must have had the shop for years because they seem to know everyone in Wavertree. The service is fantastic and these guys will really bend over backwards to help a customer out. They sell a range of tinned, frozen and fresh groceries, cigs, magazines, newspapers, chocolate, soft drinks, crisps and sweets. They also sell bus tickets and other random bits and bobs that they get in occasionally such as boxer shorts and such like. They are a great bunch of people making a good honest living and that's what it's all about!

However, whereas Grand Central has settled in like a divorcee on your sofa, Gostins has suffered from both being slightly out of the way and the temporary feel of its accommodation. Gostins is still worth a visit though, especially for the book shop that used to be in the Bluecoat (another outcast) and Route 69 hairdressers.

Probably my favourite shop in here is Collage which offers a really delightful selection of antiques and collectables at great prices. I also really like Mookow Army and Bluecoat Books. Some of the shops are not open during all regular business hours so you may find a few closed when you pop in but keep coming back to visit the various ones you missed before. I know that's my plan!

Stores located here include Aldi, Argos, JD Sports and Wilko. There are also a couple of smaller stores, pound shops and Supercuts. For food and beverages, there is a small food court area including Dunkin Donuts, Subway and McDonald's. It's pretty easy to get around the mall, as it never seems to be too busy and there is a lot of open space, obviously, the reduced number of stores makes somewhere I'd say to only visit if you're looking to visit a specific store, or if you have some time to kill ahead of getting a train from the station across the way, or even if you're shielding from the cold/rain with the larger Liverpool One being mostly outdoors. 3*

It has a 420 seat food court on the lower mall with a wide choice of food retailers including KFC, McDonald's and Subway. Customer toilets and baby changing are located next to the book clearance store, near the food court. The mall itself is situated opposite Lime Street station and adjacent to Central station and Queen Square station, therefore there's no way you can miss it! If you're going in to town, it's almost inevitable that you're going to walk past or go through this mall so make sure you check it out as there's cheap, mid-range and expensive stores to discover.
