Having Danielle as my doula made my entire pregnancy, birth, and postpartum experience so much less…read morestressful than it could have or should have been. Danielle lives an hour away from me, but having her available to me through text for any question or concern no how small or silly, made it seem like she lived right next door. Sometimes weird or awkward things happen during pregnancy that you don't want to ask even the doctor and googling doesn't help, so having Danielle to talk it through with was so comfortable, just like having a friend with all the knowledge! Danielle was also there for my husband when I was in labor, reassuring him and helping him to know how to be there for me. Honestly the biggest help has been during the postpartum time, with all the things you go through plus having this little baby they send you home with, having someone you can reach out to for anything from how to do something to just the reassurance that your instincts are correct is so priceless. Once you get to know Danielle you know she isn't just doing this because it's her job, she truly cares about everyone she works with and becomes your friend in the process. And really who doesn't need another friend, especially while going through the most stressful most exhausting time of your life?

Most people always tend to strongly dislike online classes, but this class not only helped me improve my SAT skills but also gave me a new perspective on standardized testing! My instructor, Marquisha Parker, was super kind and humorous at the appropriate times and yet also gave you a variety of insight, tips, and feedback for extending and improving my approaches regarding specific reading and math questions. Admittedly it was very fun, and the entire experience felt less intimidating and more like the type of environment that promotes growth! You were always provided with a concise amount of feedback and critique that was very helpful and made you understand why you felt challenged or made a mistake. At times there were situations where we missed a large portion of class time due to other students' technical issues, and they seemed to have not been addressed properly. ( I personally did not have any ) Overall, my experience compared to other online classes was of high quality. Specifically entailing an awesome, funny, caring, and understanding instructor; understandable tech issues, and simply memorable. ( plus the range of students' nationalities and origins was diverse!) Impersonal. Cold. Uncommunicative. Rigid. Frustrating…read more Imagine this: A two year old gets daily written reports during the summer and everything is going smoothly without incident. In Autumn when they are moved to a new room, the reports stop, and the staff never tell the parents that the child is not napping, or is ignoring the class activities, even when the parents are asking "how is it going?" everyday at pickup. Attempts by the parents to join the daycare-provided app go unfulfilled despite multiple registration attempts and questioning of the staff. The parents are routinely left wanting more daily information. So one Monday (just two weeks into the new Autumn semester and new room) you get a note in your child's bag to call and make an office conference appointment. Though you just saw the owner face to face 15 minutes earlier when you picked up your child, they made no mention of this note, or of any reason to write the note. On the phone when you ask what the meeting might be about, they say you will discuss it on Thursday, three days later, when the meeting is scheduled. Knowing your child is very active and independent, but without having received a single verbal or written warning about any problems in the daycare, you expect there is some concern with the child's behavior, but you never expected the school to tell you right then and there the child cannot come back. "They don't fit into our structured system," we are told. "The child is two years old and you've never told us there were any concerns that we could have helped work through," we tell them. No negotiation, the child has to leave. Extra effort to help the child fit in is beyond their means. So there is no warning, despite seeing the staff and owner at every drop off and pickup. There was no warning when called on the phone. So three days are wasted that could have been spent looking for a new school when the staff could have told us, either in person or via the call placed to them, that they already pre-determined the child had to leave. A real disregard for our child's and family's needs (child care remains hard to access, as any parent will know).... but it is "Out of sight, Out of mind" with these folks. Learning later from other parents in town that the owner is just a businessperson that purchased the business for a means of living, instead of someone with a mission to care for children and guide them, sheds a lot of light on the situation. Cornwall and the surrounding towns are full of parents in need of child care. Even before Covid, resources were strained, and ever since, not as many institutions are available as before as some closed and never reopened. Choices are limited and it's a market in favor of the daycares. If you want a creative and constructive environment for your child, or if you want your child that is independently-minded to have a healthy place to spend the day, Butterhill is absolutely not it.

Also a worker there with a grudge towards me from years prior that had nothing to do with her told the owner and the attitude there changed drastically. They complained more about my son and the owner become extremely cold. I pulled him out and put him into another school where he thrived. Buttherhill doesn't care about children with special needs. They are problem children. He did so much better at a different program and was much happier. He now graduated UPK and is going into kindergarten with no services needed. It's all about the environment and people willing to take the time and work with a child with special needs. I 100% recommend Victorias castle or Windsor Academy(especially for UPK). Because of them, my son thrived and isn't considered a "problem child".
