I ordered a cross stitch Christmas table runner online in August. Received it 5 weeks later. The fabric had a hole in the middle of the runner. Called and they said they would replace it. Customer Service was nice but cold. Acted like I made the burnt looking hole. Received the replacement today 9/3/20. They sent the wrong item. Called and they said they would replace it but would arrive in 6-8 weeks. Not enough time to make the project. Customer Service does not go above and beyond for their mistakes. read more

I have been a customer with Stitchery for over 15 years. I spend a great deal of money with them. The past two orders I have had multiple problems with. The final order I have called customer services 4 times (each time a non American English speaking person answers) and does not understand the difference between billing address and mailing address. They keep saying they will escalate it. However, I wait a couple of days, and then I call again and same issue. I will no longer be purchasing from a company that uses outsourced customer service that can't understand my questions or give me answers. read more

Great to buy natural fiber yarns. Most of the selections were not what you would find in a craft store like Michael's or A.c. Moore. Adam was very helpful, while I was there two women walked in to ask him to help them make sense of pattern instructions. I will absolutely go back! The Stitchery is a top-notch yarn shop. It's well worth the 45-minute train ride (change trains in Secaucus) from Manhattan. If you're only used to New York City yarn shops, chances are that you've never before seen a store that contains this much yarn. The front half of the store is packed with yarn from floor to ceiling (and with more yarn in the center shelving unit), and the selection is amazing. Beware though, this place is a yarn dieter's nightmare, and if you're trying to destash, The Stitchery may prove more temptation than you can stand. The owner is the nicest person on the planet, and will tell you anything he knows about the yarns you're interested in. He also has a fabulous and extensive selection of buttons. The closeout bins held some real treasures, and I'll have to look at them more closely when I go back. A great Mom and Pop store with a really nice selection of quality yarns and buttons. They carry a lot of famous brands (ie. Madeline Tosh, Noro, Cascade, Manos del Uruguay) as well as new to me brands (ie. Great Adirondack Yarn Company). It's outside of NYC but I would definitely travel there from Brooklyn again as it's maybe a 2 minute walk from the NJ Transit. read more

I have been a customer for over 20 years plus, and anytime I am looking for a pattern that has been around for awhile they have it, besides all the latest patterns too. And the yarn is to die for, and don't forget about the bargain yarn you can find in bags in the tubs on the floor. My only problem is I can't just but yarn for one project. And i love knitting with cotton yarns and blends, and they are the only yarn shop for me that has a great selection to pick from, besides all the other yarns they carry too! And Adam is so helpful and on top of all the new yarns out there, even if they aren't in the store yet, and most of the time there are swatches knit up in the yarns in stock, and tons of knitted samples. The pros of this store is the owner is very knowledgable and creative. The stock is tremendous as well as the button selection. The cons are the owner is bi-polar and not kid friendly. I have shopped there many times and have endured listening to his rudeness towards others on certain days while other days he was a peach. I brought my child in once to pick up some yarn and I was treated like I was a thief. That was when I stopped shopping there.
