There used to be a 'Buy One Get One Free' deal, where if two adults bought a meal you would only pay for the most expensive one; however this seems to have ended now but the meals are still very reasonable (£5.99 for a full roast dinner, for example). There is an everlasting '2 for £10' deal on certain meals, so it's worth having a good look at the menu when you're there. The pub itself is nicely decorated throughout in traditional wood, with open fireplaces (although i've yet to see anyone light a fire in them). The furniture could perhaps do with updating here and there, particularly the food section, but for the most part it's all comfortable and sturdy. The toilets are well cared for and clean. The food itself is delicious, and very reasonably priced for what you get. Each meal fills the plate, and I will warn you - don't order 'The Ultimate Sundae' unless you hav hollow legs or LOTS of space after your main meal. It's HUGE! We do often have to wait around 20 - 30 minutes for a Sunday meal as the restaurant can get quite busy, but we never feel the wait with a drink in our hands. The staff are polite and efficient, and they know their products well. I've not had any beer from the bar here as I'm a whiskey drinker but from all accounts it's quite nice. Elsewhere there is ample parking, outdoor seating overlooking the marina and a whole building dedicated to a children's adventure play area, connected to the main building through a covered corridor. This pub does do events (Christmas and New Year dinners, Halloween events, parties etc), which you can enquire about inside. All in all a great pub :)

I took full advantage of this offer and had the all day breakfast meal with a Pepsi max with both meals and a steak pie with mash. the service was decent and the meals were well enjoyed, I was dead impressed with the size and style of the pie (in a dish with a puff pastry lid) which was very tasty to boot!! the mash was slightly lumpy but adequate and the gravy was watery, the eggs on the all day breakfast had some undercooked egg snot on top which I don't like at all but apart from that both meals were delicious! overall a banging meal and would definatly come back for more!

There are rivals offereing slightlu cheaper cider but you have to have a meal, so maybe not worth it. The food service is sometimes poor, ive had a meal where it was cold! had it sent back. Some may say the atmpsphere is rubbish, but I disagree. The heating needs sorting out too, it can be rather cold and drafty.

As always the food was fantastic although the gallette could have done with being a little warmer. The food was delivered by a member of the kitchen staff who I think is the only sullen person I have ever seen in the Vic, think she must have been having a bad day! The local beers were sampled whilst listening to live music in the form of the Fab Two, a well versed and rehearsed Beatles tribute. It truly is a real village pub with great beer, good food and a friendly welcome. The landlady was very polite and we felt at ease when asking for food. Only had a sandwich but that was plentiful and tasty. Will definitely go back there when in the area and due to it's location if I can blag a ticket to the festival next year, will reside there for liquid refreshment. Nice area out front to sit when sunny ( as it was when we were there). Not sure what could be improved, but maybe they could consider letting the odd room for B&B.
