The beginning of the school year started off with no cleaning crew, broken trash chutes, locked patios, clogged common bathrooms, mail left out for everyone to take, and one maintenance guy having to do everyone's job. We initially had two security guards, but they disappeared during the first few months with management giving no explanation, despite several break ins both in the building and in peoples cars. One of the first times it rained, water leaked straight onto my bed. Our unit's kitchen sink broke and it took weeks for them to fully repair it, during which someone from management told us that if we needed to use a kitchen sink to just go downstairs and use the common bathroom's sink for cooking (?) The office is open 10-6 but good luck actually finding someone in there. Trash chutes are still usually broken and instead of fixing them, They sent out a warning stating that if we don't put trash through the chutes (which we can't open) that we will be fined. They initiated a fancy recycling service, but often forget to pick up your recycling. One of the elevators has been broken since the beginning of the semester and sometimes the second one breaks too, so you have 8 floors of people with no elevator. The front doors close so slowly that random people regularly walk in. And sometimes they stay open. The mail room is often left unlocked and when we find our packages open or stolen, management blames it on the Amazon. Your only points of contact are a phone number that routes you to an offsite agent who refuses to connect you to management, and only takes a message, and an email address - you can imagine how helpful that is in cases of emergencies. They always say they'll call you back or follow up, and rarely do. Instead of fixing problems, they offer fancy placations - no elevator, but there's now a coffee machine downstairs! (Without the supplies needed to make coffee, however). We've had more than 10 fire alarms go off, and some of these are due to the fact that not a single window opens in any of our units. If you try to complain about something, they either find a way to blame it on you or tell you you have to be patient because they're still working out contracts, or they hired new management - things that should've been figured out before the building opened for business and started collecting our money. They're more than happy taking our money each month without upholding their end of the contract. Well, new management has been in power for several months and as of now, our trash chutes still don't open, both elevators are broken, and the water for the ENTIRE building has been shut off for 5 consecutive days. read more
