The studio is very inviting and decorated to make the young girls feel at ease when they start to learn to dance. Pricing is on par with other studios in the area. Miss Lorena is an excellent instructor. She is kind and really helps the kids to focus on dancing. Our daughter has really enjoyed learning basic ballet here and she has made some good friends there in the process. They have classes from 3 year olds all the way up to high school, so kids can work their way through the program and stick with the same group of friends. They put on 2 recitals per year and the girls get fancy outfits to wear. It is awesome to see all of their work pay off and perform in front of a large audience of family and friends. I highly recommend Lynette's to help your child learn dance.

The preschool classes do not have a limit on the number of kids enrolled which makes the small classroom feel tiny by the spring time (for example, my 4 year old's class started with 10 girls in the fall and ended with 23 girls in the spring, with only 1 teacher and 2 school-age helpers). Miss Lorena is great with the children and is the reason I kept my daughter at the school for the entire year. I will now be looking for a new studio that limits the size of their classes so that my child can actually learn some things about dance.

I have had no injuries or pain the entire time which beats my past experiences working out solo or with a personal trainer. They even understood my physical therapy exercises and helped me get the equipment I needed to do them at the gym before my sessions. It may only be a 20 minute session but it is packed! The trainer sets up the next machine while you are working out so that you go from machine to machine very quickly. I get a whole body workout by the end of my session and feel great instead of beat down. I go 2x a week and have seen huge strength gains in just a few months. Every time I feel like I could not lift anymore weight and every week I'm able to take on another couple pounds. I even beat my husband at arm wrestling the other day! What keeps me coming back is the atmosphere. It's not a crowded, intimidating gym. It's usually just me, a trainer and one other client. I can show up in my baggy gym clothes and not feel out of place. The trainers are fun and non-judgmental. Personally I do better being accountable to someone (a big gym wouldn't notice if I flake out for a month) and yet they are very flexible about scheduling so that it's not difficult to fit into my busy life.

My dance partner anxiously waiting in the wings for word if I would be able to again partner with him and reach national ranking. I was on a quest. Longing to return to the gym where I once lifted weights twice a week and did cardio to maintain my stamina on the floor, I knew that I needed to rebuild my frame differently... I was looking for something that I had dabbled with once: slow training. But where would I find someone who knew what I needed? It was serendipity that one evening searching the internet, I found a video of a local news segment featuring The Exercise Coach. I couldn't believe my eyes - slow training in action supplemented by computerized biofeedback! Sign me up - today! I met Michael the next week. He was patient as I laid it out my goals for him. I was very clear about what I could do, what I wanted to accomplish and when it came to how we needed to get there, well, that was his speech. He agreed to modify his approach to meet my abilities and worked to ensure that each visit I was appropriately challenged. I warned him I would bulk up quickly, and he was happy to see my progress with every visit. In just 3 months, I had gained 10 pounds of lean muscle and had rebuilt a substantial bulk of my missing quad muscles. With another 3 months, I have successfully exceeded my goals with the help of Kevin and Michael I rebuilding my core strength and adding even more lean muscle to my frame. Everyone is thrilled to see me back on the floor training for competition in 2019! Thank you Kevin and Michael for all that you have done to help me return to the floor.

I was so impressed with the dancing and the colorful costumes that I looked at their website and found they offered dancing classes, plus the classes were very affordable. The school is located in Des Plaines and have two Dance Studios. They also have a Hawaiian store that sell an extensive collection of Hawaiian shirts and dresses; as well as all things Polynesian. The classes are separated by Women's, Men's, and Children's dance classes, and they also offer Ukalele and Polynesian drum classes; as well as Fire knife Dancing for men. Shortly after seeing the Barefoot Hawaiian dancers perform at Tiki Terrace, I enrolled in their Kane (men's class) Dance class every Monday night. The owner and instructor Gwen Keneddy was very nice and patient and really knew her Polynesian culture. The classes were taught in a fun and safe environment, and I learned allot of the dances in a short amount of time. After a few weeks of taking classes, I was invited to perform with the Barefoot Hawaiian dancers at local outdoor events and parades, while pretending to be a Hawaiian native. Lol. The school provided the materials to make the Polynesian costumes, and we paid and assembled the costumes ourselves with help from the more experienced older girls (or the Hula Nazis, as they were nicknamed). I have been with this Dance troop a little under two years before I decided to retire from dancing, but overall, I enjoyed this part of my life. I will never forget the people I met and befriended during my time with Barefoot Hawaiian; it was like joining a member of a large Hawaiian family and Gwen was our mother. If you have an appreciation of Polynesian culture; I suggest you enroll in their dance, Ukalele or drum classes. You will come out with a more appreciation of Polynesian culture, and walk away with a new family. The classes are held one day a week, during the evening, and a normal semester is 8 weeks and only $10 per class.

Parking here can be a mess. We left home 2 hours before our show and were so glad we did. The drive from Chicago's West Town area and waiting for parking alone, took us over an hour. Once in the parking lot, we were fortunate to get a spot around the corner from the main entrance. Expect to wait in a long line for concessions, coat check, and the ladies restroom. Prices for drinks and snacks are what you would expect. However, the mixed drinks we purchased were definitely worth the price we paid. Our server at the bar had a "heavy hand" so there was plenty of spirits in the drinks. Definitely appoint a designated driver. Seats are comfy here and the inside of the theatre gets warm. But plan to sit very close to strangers if you don't have an aisle seat. I like the intimate setting of this theatre. Views from row E were fabulous. Being an amateur musician myself, I would say the only critique I have is that at times the instruments sounded louder than vocals, so it made it hard to hear the soloists at times. In all, a December concert here was a beautiful experience and a great way to kick off the holidays!

The first was a concert , but where I was sitting didn't make it feel like a concert . The next event was a comedy show. This venue is much more suited to those kinds of shows you'd see in Vegas.
