I went to a wedding here and it was the best venue I've ever seen a wedding it. It's not too big and not too small which is great because there's nothing worse than an over or under-crowded wedding! The inside is painted white with awesome wooden floors that make it have a really relaxed vibe. There's a big stage at the front for the bridal party to stand on and the whole hall is fully stocked with spotlights and flashing party lights so if you wanted to you could carry the reception on at the same venue. Puhoi is a really cute village only half an hour from the CBD and would be a great way to get people out of the city and exploring a different part of Auckland. Be sure to check out the Puhoi Pub while you're out there too!

The huge chandelier lights up the room, and as the floor is built in tiers, you look out on our beautiful city, and your heart beats away to a happy tune. I was excited to attend a recent charity event called TASTE that had Peter Gordon as a guest speaker. The guest list was down at around two hundred plus guests, and the staff and surroundings catered for us all to perfection. The main bar situated at the entrance was large enough to hold the guests happily, along with a few extra bars dotted around the different floors. The food served for this event was simply buffet champagne ham, and some artisan breads, which I thought was very tasty. The lavish decor, makes The Wharf a fabulous location for weddings, birthdays and big corporate events. The bathrooms located down the spiral stairs under the main area, are gorgeous. I was very pleased with the staff working at the Wharf, very warm and bubbly. I hope to be back for another event soon, as my night was really enjoyable.

It towers above you and you could spend the whole service purely looking at it. I was actually singing at the wedding and the church acoustics were such a novelty. It made us sound a whole lot better! It was so amazing seeing the whole bridal party come down the long aisle, really breath taking. At the end of the wedding the rung the bells which made a really traditional wedding even more so. We then had drinks and nibbles in one of the wings of the church. It's the wedding venue every girl dreams of and is such an asset for Auckland City.

It's really important to have spaces like St. Matts in the middle of the city: somewhere people can…read morego and not have to buy something, and can just be. It's a real respite from the grind of the city, and I'll never get over the charm of it being situated right next to that other place of worship: Sky City. This is a really inclusive place; everyone is welcome, and if you want to just sit here and read a book, you're welcome to do so. It's also a rad place for events: they have lots of events here so know how to do it properly, and of course it's a pretty spectacular venue. It's almost enough to turn me into a church goer.

the venue is stunning. it is very beautiful and enticing. lots of open spaces for any activity you…read morewant to do on your wedding day. the crew is awesome, excellent service from the staff. all smiles and always ready to help. we love the crew. however, the one star goes to robin's attitude towards the couple and guests. let me be specific: 1. the bridal room - the bridal room is located literally next to robin's home. during the bridal prep on one of the weddings i attended at gracehill, robin entered the bridal room without knocking and started complaining why people are noisy and if he can get some privacy because he lives next door (next "wall" actually). we respect that every kiwi is entitled to their privacy, however, robin if you like privacy then you should not rent out that tiny room as a bridal room. people will book a bridal room to get ready not sleep. people will be coming in and out, there will be laughter, lots of talking and celebration, it's a wedding after all. also, robin, please knock, don't just barge in the bridal room. we know it's your property but we rented the room, we also need our privacy, especially the people inside the bridal room are mostly women in their bridal robs. 2. ruining the mood - my friend had their first dance by the lake, while the guests light sky lanterns. it was such a happy feeling for everyone, the music was playing, the couple is dancing and sky lanterns flying but robin had to ruin the good vibe. he walk towards the middle of the crowd, start talking to the MC and asking why everyone is not up in the main reception area seated and ready to eat as the mains will be served soon. robin, you have a point, however we would appreciate it if you didn't barge in the middle of the crowd and acting like you control the event. you could have pulled the MC on the side and talked to him privately or better yet, waited for the first dance to finish, talked to the MC privately and voice out your concern. you have no right, i will repeat that, you have no right to ruin any couple's wedding day just because the mains are ready to be served. we went back up to the main reception area after the couple's first dance by the lake and after the sky lanterns activity. the guests, instead of talking about how wonderful it was to see the couple do their first dance and how magical it was to fly sky lanterns, the talk of the night until the end of the wedding programme was how rude robin was. robin single handedly made everyone feel uneasy and unwelcome. some guests even felt scared going to the counter to ask a glass of water or orange juice as they might end up talking with robin. luckily, the staff were all great, they actually help alleviate the tension by wearing a constant smile. overall, the venue by itself is beautiful and majestic. the staff are absolutely delightful and accomodating.

It is really traditional on the outside but inside they have a new hall that has been full renovated to look really tidy. It was a great place for a reception and of course meant that it didn't cost the couple the earth. It also really suited their down to earth values and meant that they could actually invite more people to the reception. Which was great because there was a real buzz with the amount of people there. They just got caterers in and the night went off without a hitch. The hall isn't too big and isn't too small either. There was even enough room for an awesome dance floor to happen. I'd fully recommend this to you if you're looking for a venue that means you can go on that awesome honeymoon you've been dreaming of.

I mean, what does the "ceremony" part have to be anyway? We got lucky in so many ways with our wedding and long-time friend Cath Bathe-Taylor just happened to be a marriage celebrant. She was so perfect for us in every way and guided us through the technicalities of the process in a really relaxed way, making it easy for us to understand. She listened to what we wanted then made suggestions to fit around that. And then didn't stress when we were last minute getting our vows to her. She understands the process and is a lovely person to have involved on your big day, with a caring and supportive energy that takes all the pressure off that most important part - actually getting hitched. I would totally recommend her to anyone not wanting a traditional religious service (or heck, even if you do I'm sure she'd be great) but needing a total professional to trust with such an important thing.

Had our Christmas party here - very unorganised which is probably why they said our event organiser…read morewas super efficient and organised, i guess they arnt used to it. One of their own staff broke their projector screen and charged us $500 as apparantly we were seen being 'rough' with the screen and broke it which is a complete and utter fabrication as we didnt touch the screen and if we were seen to be doing this their 'employee' who actually did break the screen should have intervened. Also had to keep extra staff on for our 'rowdy' party which is a load of rubbish. I thought it was a pretty tame christmas party and left sober. Go elsewhere!
