One of them, Royal & Derngate, is just a five minute walk from Chata, so this was a regular stop for us for a meal out before or after one of her shows, or if we popped down to see one of the many great acts passing through town. For drinks, they offer three or four different Polish beers, of which the owner will share his candid opinions and recommend one to suit your tastes. There's also wine, and Guinness, if I recall correctly, but stick with the beer. I highly recommend the Zwiec for a super drinkable lager with better flavor depth than the others. Having been to many restaurants and pubs in Northampton, this is by far my favorite for its incredible service and food. This place is, simply put, homely, and you can't do any better than home.

We also had a 10 month old baby with us, and she agreed that the food was delicious, as she couldn't get enough of sampling the menu either. They have an awesome high chair too that looked like it could be found in a ski lodge in the Swiss alps- rustic, sturdy, and very comfortable. The service was so friendly and helpful with offering suggestions, and even other guests in the small restaurant were friendly and willing to start up a conversation.
