I was expecting good food as I know the owners from their last, very successful Italianish restaurant. There was no disappointment, it was great. We were a table of 22, and shared / tasted most of what everyone ordered. The flavors are awesome, every dish generated some form of 'delicious' response. Mixed starters and appetizers, main courses from fresh fish to hearty lamb shanks. Sides with lots of flavour. By the time we got to desserts the display cabinet was impossible to ignore, and again we all enjoyed the fresh cakes on offer. In their previous restaurant we often tried wines we'd not heard of, and that would be my take on the menu. We picked a red based on the description and thoroughly enjoyed it. Patrick knows his wine and I'm sure everyone would find something to their liking.
My expereince so far is that many German restaurants tone down their spices so as not to offend, but I really think that what they're trying to do will really satisfy lots of people. You are not going to get a hulking plate of food though, the quality is top, so portion sizes and prices reflect this.
The interior design is fantastic, and puts to rest the previous monstrosity that was in this space. Toilets are also super. read more
