Hey , I came here sometime this year and bought a Tea blend called calming nights . I thought the blend was very refreshing ! I drink tea with no sugar or honey to get full benefits! The blend didn't help with my sleepless nights but I'll down back to maybe try a different kind . Not sure if freshness plays a part in herbal teas. I wish they had sea moss. My wife and have been in several times and always come out with something new. This time I picked up a recipe card for a Maple Syrup Old Fashioned. So we got a bottle of Bourdon aged maple syrup and some other pairings and off we go. So tonight I decided to give it a try. The wife loves fixing me new drinks to try. So we followed the instructions and I have to say it's good. Sweeter than a traditional old fashion and that could be adjusted by cutting back on the syrup. But dang could. Wanted to spice up my dinner meal prep tonight (chicken) and decided to give this place close to home a shot. The selection of salts, peppers, spice blends and even tea selection was HUGE. Everything was laid out easy to find and there were also jars for you to smell whatever spice you were interested in! Service was also super friendly and patient with helping me find the perfect flavor. Honestly there's so many unique flavors that no matter what you're cooking whether it be meat, fish, dips, teas that you're bound to find a flavor that catches your fancy. I went with a maple bourbon jalapeño spice blend to pair with my chicken and it turned out amazing! This is a cute spot in La Centera, there is plenty of parking either in the street or a parking garage. When you walk in there is a nice aroma. They have flavored sea salts, spices, blended spice and teas. The owner is very nice and knowledgeable. There was a smoked bacon sea salt, that was soooo good. This visit I only bought tea, the was a lot of seasoning that I will have to try. I will be back!! read more

The main lady who works there is super knowledgeable on the teas and really lovely to talk to. She gives great recommendations as well as answers any questions you have on any of the teas or spices. I've gone there 3 times now and only plan on buying tea from there. I've had strawberry cloud, banana nut, pumpkin Chai and a few others. We also got a variety of spices, ive only tried one of them so far (Jamaican jerk) and loved it. The shop is very organized and laid out perfectly. Very chill and relaxing. Entrances on both sides letting in alot of natural light which is perfect when trying to read all the packs and labels. Salt, sugar, custom blends, tea - what a place to be! There are just so many options inside a cool little store! There's designated places for all the previously mentioned, and it's so hard to choose! There are mixes of different sugars, salts, blends, tea that there's sure to be something you want or need to try. I finally settled with rosemary basil sea salt, coconut thai spice, and ghost pepper sea salt. My friend got the strawberry batch of tea and spices which I didnt see. Lovely little place offering a variety of teas and spices. Went here for the first time to try out some teas. We ended up going home with a green, a blueberry, and a strawberry fields tea. We love all of them. The blueberry one was our favorite to make iced. We'll definitely be back to try out more and maybe some of the spices too! I had the best experience here today! It was my first time in and I stopped to buy some teas as Christmas gifts. I wasn't really sure what I was looking for but Jocelyn; the owner helped me right away by giving excellent recommendations and samples. She answered all of my questions and gave me the run down of ingredients, etc. They had so many great options that I ended up buying six teas, some sea salts, sugars and some other miscellaneous items. I ended up buying some stuff for myself that I can't wait to try! During this whole shopping experience I had my two year old with me that wanted to touch everything! Jocelyn was so patient and kind with him. She gave him items to play with and let him have a rock candy that he wouldn't stop asking for. It also started to rain really really heavy while we were in the store so we stayed for awhile to let it pass and she entertained my son so sweetly and gave him glow sticks. She was his best friend quick! I had a great time there today during my extended shopping trip and came away with lots of great gifts! Great store and great owners! read more

If you are other than caucasian, dont come here. The 2 ladies who were attending to customers surely are customer service friendly bit I guess I wasn't caucasian enough to offer their services. They sure did for the folks before me and after me. It is a sad sort of affairs. If it wasn't for the last narwhal tea strainer, I would have left and that is why they have a 1 star. We just had the pleasure of meeting Tori who works here! She was very knowledgeable of the teas, spices, and herbs. She made us feel very welcomed and had awesome charisma and work ethic. We will definitely be coming here in the future to visit her and pick up spices and herbs from this establishment! This is one of the best Spice and Tea stores I have shopped. Lots of great custom blends and some unique spices that I've haven't seen outside of much more expensive specialty stores. I was visiting relatives in the area when we found this shop and was immediately blown away by the selection of spices, herbs, and teas. The shop is a small business, and is run that way with the owner Jocelyn taking personal interest in each of the customers that come through their doors. Since then, I have continued to order my spices and herbs from this store, and Jocelyn herself takes the time to pick everything out, pack it, and mail. There really is no replacement for that kind of commitment to customer service, and definitely a welcome change to your typical retail experience. Some people may not be down for that, and find it annoying when they can't get immediate attention, or when things take longer than usual, but if you are looking to take time and really get to know the businesses you are spending your money at, then honestly this is where you should be going. I know I can probably get my spices and herbs from a big store for less, but I am fortunate to be able to have a choice to go with the Katy Spice and Tea Exchange. It also goes without saying that the quality of the product is definitely higher: anyone who is particular about their spices and herbs will immediately recognize that the ones from this store are better sourced and curated, resulting in spices and herbs that are as close to drying them yourself from a garden as you can get. read more

I've been into this specific spice and tea location on several different occasions. I am just a younger guy trying to broaden my skills in the kitchen and understand spices. The owner of the store was there each of the days I was in and she was such a wonderful help. She took the time to not just answer my questions but give me additional tips and ideas for what blends I should try next. I love that she took the time to help me understand the products. What is up with this place? We've tried to go twice in the last couple of months to stock up on tea during posted hours. One time on a Sunday at 1:00 when they're supposed to be open at noon, another time on a Saturday at 10:30 when they said they open at 10:00. We waited until 10:45 and still nobody opened. I give up! Really want to support our local stores but I'll buy my tea and spices from somewhere else. It's super inconvenient and disappointing! read more
