I don't normally leave reviews, but I felt compelled to share my experience with Dr. Dwight. I came to him in pure desperation--dizzy 24/7 for over six months, in a wheelchair at just 27 years old. Instead of being met with compassion or any real concern for my situation, I was met with judgment and laughter. Because I mentioned I couldn't afford frequent visits, he seemed to immediately lose interest in helping me. It felt like he was more concerned about how many sessions I could book rather than actually listening to me or offering any meaningful support. I called Dr. Wright one morning, after weeks of having neck and back pains. I was taking expensive medication like Naproxen which made my symptoms worse. Bryan immediately answered my call and scheduled an appointment for me that same morning. After seeing the x-rays I got to see what was causing all the pain and headaches in the morning. He is very flexible with schedules. If you need to go in on a day he isn't usually open he can plan something for you. One part of the treatment that I enjoyed was a nice nap in one of the specialized recliners. It was really peaceful to relax after a long day of work. Need something to help you with treatment at work? He can write a letter for you. I eventually got a desk at work I could stand up at so I won't be sitting all day. Dr. Wright and Mandy are very friendly and it was really nice chatting with both of them. I chose one of his very reasonable treatment plans and haven't regretted it. My son had a car accident and was referred to this chiropractor. My son was in a lot of pain and suffered a concussion. At first the husband and wife seemed nice. After getting notice of the lawyer not taking on the case (because they assumed my son was at fault) they just dropped and cancelled all my son's appointments and texted my son a bill for an outrageous amount of money instead of actually caring about him needing further treatments. The treatment was suppose to be for 3-6 months and he saw the chiropractor only twice. Not once did they asked if my son wanted to continue treatment and cared for my son's conditions at the moment. A few weeks passed now and we were notified from insurance that my son is NOT at fault. The other party took full blame. My son missed out on treatment he could have gotten throughout this time. This was truly disappointing and disheartening. I hope this place will use this situation as an example to genuinely and passionately care about their patients and not so much being money driven and misjudging the situation when someone is in dire need of help. read more

I started seeing Dr. Wright almos three years ago for a lower back injury. Within weeks my jacked up hip and shoulder were straightened out and now I go for maintenance. I always felt comfortable with Dr. Wright and safe in his care. The office itself is warm and inviting. At times when I had to bring kids with me he was always accommodating and made sure they were also comfortable and safe. I honestly don't even know where to begin with this review. So I will start with a little background. I'm under Kaiser insurance and after over 3 years with a growing shoulder/neck problem and over 5+ Kaiser providers telling me there was nothing they could do and I would have to pop medication for the rest of my life.. and that I was going to be most likely crooked when I got older... I was fed up. I was horribly terrified of Chiropractic services in general, I've seen a friend get a jarring neck adjustment from a different sort of Chiropractor and have been scared stiff every since. With my frustration growing though I decided to check Yelp out. I quickly searched for chiropractic services in Elk Grove after coming from one of my last Kaiser appointments in complete disgust with my treatment... I lucked out in landing on The Specific Chiropractic services, read a few reviews and looked over their websites. Then I called immediately! Dr. Wright warmly answered the phone. I quickly explained a brief synopsis of my history and what was occurring..my fears and concerns... all the while in tears of anger, frustration and sadness, clearly upset. Dr. Wright stuck with me and suggested I come in for an initial evaluation. He didn't promise he could help me, but he said that it sounded like he most likely COULD actually help me. I scheduled my appt for that same week. He emailed me the New Patient form to complete (online or printed out and written) and I brought that and myself to the first appointment. My first appointment Dr. Wright spent over 5+ hours with me. Going over EVERYTHING. He was pretty confident that he could actually provide some help, so we moved forward! I don't write reviews very often. It's usually only when I've had a very bad experience or in this case an extremely positive experience. I met Dr. Wright 6 years ago. I had spent many years bucking hay bales that weighed more than I did and the result was sciatica that would leave me almost unable to walk for up to 4 months at a time. I was desperate by the time I found him. I had tried other chiropractors that did absolutely nothing to help me except leave me disappointed and in pain. I had been seeing a lot of good things about The Specific Center on line so I actually walked into the office to make an appointment instead of call. I wanted to make sure I was not wasting more time and money. I was met by Mandy who made me feel very welcome and comfortable right away so I made the appointment and the rest is history, lol.. Dr. Wright put me on a plan that worked so well I have been 100% free of back pain for over 6 years. I tell him and everyone I talk to about him that he CURED me and he did. I am so grateful that I found him then. Unfortunately I recently injured myself when I tripped over a hose in the garden and fell hard onto the ground. Bonus effects of The Specific - Go in for a adjustment and as a bonus my sinuses cleared. What??? My right side is a hot mess and was the original reason I started seeing Dr. Wright. After his care my right side was pain free. (See my original post below). So I figured that I can stop seeing Dr. Wright since I felt so good. Since about June, when I stopped seeing Dr. Wright, I started getting more severe sinusitis. For 4-6 weeks I was faced with a tooth ache, eye ball throbbing constantly, and sinus pressure that was debilitating but only on the right side. While nasal cleanses worked well in the moment, I always felt that my right sinus passage never cleared and knew I would be getting another infection in a few days. It was horrible. Cut to last week. I took a dance class and threw myself out of alignment. I knew just who to call for help. I explained that my right side from head to foot is giving me trouble but failed to mention my sinus issue. This isn't your typical chiropractic office you see at every street corner. Dr. Wright specializes in upper cervical care and isn't focusing on just relieving your pain, but has the overall picture of HEALING you! The office staff is very welcoming as you walk in, you are greeted right away, there are informational pamphlets and magazines to read as you are in the waiting room and healthy snacks to much on as well! These is an exam room where your care is practiced, an enclosed massage room, an x-ray room in the back, and the best part is the resting room! In the resting room there are these 3 huge chairs where you are placed to rest and relax your body before Dr. Wright determines if an adjustment is needed on that day. There are curtains separating each chair so you are able to have some privacy as you rest. I have been seeing Dr. Wright for about 6 months now and I have seen so much improvement! I used to have major tension headaches that became a huge problem in my life, but after starting care here that has changed. My initial visit to this office was for a one-on-one meet with Dr. Bryan to learn more about his practice. Before meeting with Dr. Bryan, I had no idea what upper cervical care was all about. He gave me a tour of his office and explained a bit more about the Specific Chiropractic. I was so fascinated in the concept that I decided to give his technique a try. For the past couple years, I had been suffering from moderate neck and shoulder tension from a car accident and possibly repetitive motion from work. My original x-rays showed that the curve in my neck was no longer there. After six months of continuous care, my curve is slowly coming back and my discomforts have drastically decreased. HOORAY! Dr. Wright is a miracle worker and one of the nicest people you will ever meet! I had been in a major car accident a little over 10 years ago that caused me to be in constant neck and shoulder pain. What an amazing married duo that runs this place! I can admit that the way they arrange things and their process is a little different then when I expected. The husband does the adjustments and the wife does the massages. And they both feel great. First you will go in for a consult. The best part about this office is that they do X-rays there themselves! Then you come back for your next visit and that's when you will start your treatment. He sits you on a chair and finds the spot you need work on. For me it was my right shoulder from a fender bender that triggered my hurt. He doesn't do the snapping thing like most other chiropractors do. I can't explain how he does it but it is different. Most people might not like it but it works very well actually! Then he sets you in another room so your body can heal from the treatment. It's a private room with music in the background. You sit about 15 mins in a recliner chair. I honestly almost fell asleep a couple of times. Then they have you come back and do a massage with the wife if you need that accommodation. The wife massages you for about an hour and puts on music and talks to you also. While you are done with that treatment you will go back to the private room and rest that off for about 15 minutes. My wife and I went in for an "evaluation". Dr. Wright took his time with both of us to educate us about different types of chropractic care. Then he took some scans and showed us where we were not properly aligned and pointed out the other areas of the body that are impacted by being out of alignment. I was having some specifc pain due to my carpet cleaning business, so Doc Wright took a few minutes to adjust my back and neck. WOW...for being an evalutation, that felt pretty darn good. They do this upper cervical care and it's a tremendously simple things that someone else thought of and it's been evolving from the east coast to west. Now Dr. Bryan Wright is the first to start this here in Sacramento but he's got people from the bay area coming to get checked out. The informational DVD that plays in the waiting area totally blew my mind because they talk about the upper cervical treatment and how different it is to traditional chiropractic medicine.
