I moved to Elk Grove about 2 years ago. Up until now, I had seen a total of 4 different Chiropractors in my life. The first one I ever saw would pop you once in the neck and then have you lay down with a heating pad afterward. I went to him as a child and it scared me into future apprehension of chiropractors. (I was 13 years old). The second chiropractor I ever saw would twist my head to crack my neck (as I know is common in some practices) but to be real, that shit scared the crap out of me too. I thought my head would surely fall off if his hands weren't big enough to catch them. (I was 15 years old). The third chiropractor I saw was during a time that I had 9-month run-in with a severe condition of Papilledema that led to emergency brain surgery. During my first visit with this chiropractor he asked me to follow his pointer finger with my eyes as he brought his finger to my nose. Instead of my eyes crossing (as a normal set of eyes would during that exercise) one of my eyes jumped to the far side of my face. The chiropractor saw this, of course, looked concerned, didn't say much but lightly suggested I see "a doctor" not explaining much else. He did however, (KNOWING that something was seriously wrong with me) offer me an on-going treatment for arthritis of the neck that would cost me 4k (how so very nice of him ). And my butt even contemplated doing it, I was so desperate for relief! (Papilledema is swelling of the optic nerve caused by increased pressure in the brain). I proceeded to go 3 more months with my condition, due to lack of medical insurance, and endured the worst experiences of my life. I tried ONE more chiropractor after that and felt like a McDonalds cheeseburger off the $1 menu (do they even still have that?) as I was passed around, considered "done" and thrown back out the door. No one listened to me when I told them SOMETHING IS WRONG, PLEASE HELP ME. The images on the poster in the treatment room jumped out at me and I voiced this to the providers, but again-nothing. (I get that Chiropractors aren't the same as the doctors I now see at Kaiser but DAMN, you are human- correct?). My world was warped for 9 months (in total) seeing double, colors fading, lack of ability to see sharp objects, I felt high all the time, words would jump out of the computer screen at me as I was training new employees at work. I thought I guess I should see if I needed glasses? I would get up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom, flip the light switch on and hear the fan (indicating the switch for the light and the fan was on) but never able to see any light. Cars that were in front of me on the freeway would appear in the next lane in front of another car. I'd have to put one hand over one eye to see straight. (As if the vision of one eye was crossing into the vision of the other). Oh, and the characters on Grey's Anatomy, their noses were on their foreheads. Yes, it was like shrooms for free but ALL the time. From that point on, I didn't even know where to start. Fast forward 9 months later, after an emergency brain surgery (and a dope buzz hair cut ) I was finally better. (Age 32). Then fast forward 3 more years, I moved to Elk Grove. I'm driving past the Backs in Motion, "ChiroSpa." The Spa part caught my attention. I called immediately. Doc Williams answers the phone, he passes me to Dr. Alexa briefly and then the receptionist. I make an appointment. I come in. I'm asssigned to Dr. Alexa. I'm newly pregnant, in pain, with headaches (chronic for me now, due to all the surgeries) yet hopeful but also desperate once again. I literally left in love. I saw that the yelp reviews of Backs in Motion did not yet have a review highlighting Dr. Alexa so I am taking the time to spill my guts, share how much I really mean it when I say I found a savior and give her the complete kudos she deserves. I've began seeing her twice a week now and she goes above and beyond. I am looking forward to so much relief, light and peace. She truly is a great soul and has changed my view on the industry. If SHE was my chiropractor all those years, I bet I wouldn't have experienced NONE of that. Many blessings to her. I'd give this place a thousand stars if I could. Dr. Alexa makes the office. I have been seeing Dr. Williams for 4 years. I used to see another Family Chiropractor for over 20 years who did all the adjustments for many (5!) family members. When I met Dr. Williams I got the best adjustments of my life! It was not even comparable to how I was previously adjusted (for YEARS :-() When I came to Dr. Williams I was in so much pain that I would need adjustments twice a week! Within a few months I was able to come in for a monthly or every other month adjustment! It is amazing to now live PAIN free! I have ZERO idea why there are any negative reviews of his business. Dr. Williams is one of the nicest people on the Planet. He is a family man and I have watched his family grow as I have known him. He is an upright and outstanding person way ahead of the curve! Staff is always changing in the medical field. You can't fault Dr. Williams for that! He works incredibly hard to make his business a success! His current staff is flexible, generous, and kind. Dr. Williams is absolutely wonderful! I know a lot of businesses offer promotions for yelp reviews, however that is not the case here- this is a legitimate review free of personal benefit! I have two children and recently injured my back moving my youngest car seat into the back of the car. My back instantly locked up and I was in total and complete agony. I went to urgent care, but was not better after 4 days. I made an appointment with Dr. Williams with some hesitation because I was not a huge believer in chiropractic medicine because of previous bad experiences. I have seen Dr. Williams now for three visits and I already notice more flexibility in my low back. Not to mention he is just the nicest guy! I referee my husband and when we all can in as a family he ended up offering to adjust our toddler and infant who is 3.5 months old. Our littlest one fell fast asleep after her adjustment, she seemed to really enjoy the adjustment (the pressure is super light for babies). Our toddler was not going for it as she is very shy, but Dr. Williams was very patient with her. I highly recommend Dr. Williams for anyone with back pain!! read more

Dr. Williams is the best there is. I am in my 60's, slipped and fell in a grocery store injuring my wrist. Went to MD"s who couldn't find anything wrong. My wrist, arm, elbow, back, and hips hurt badly as a result of the injury. Dr. Williams suspected a crack to a small wrist bone and proceeded as if it were cracked even though we couldn't get an MD to verify it. Sure enough at exactly the time Dr. Williams predicted, the injury started to radically improve. His treatments eliminated the pain and I was back to normal. He has helped me, my wife, and two daughters with various muscle and back problems. His in depth exams and analysis lead him to the right treatment. He is fantastic. read more

Been going here for about three years. Love Dr Williams and his staff. They're professional and flexible with appointments, always making it smooth to make or change an appointment. Dr Williams does a great job analyzing everything going on, and he even made some exercise suggestions which allow me to go longer between appointments. I love this place! The staff are super friendly! And Dr. Williams is super knowledgeable, and even gives me health advice that has nothing to do with chiropractic, other than it is all homeopathic and good for you! I have been getting my kids (4yrs, 6mo) adjusted here and I am confident he is helping them. My son used to complain of neck pain, now it's gone! Dr. Williams and his staff are great. I found him because my employer recently added a chiropractic benefit to our health insurance. I have had back problems for many years since I work on a computer all day. He spent a lot of time taking my history. His adjustments, recommended stretches and icing frequency have made a big difference, along with "the thumper" and the muscle stimulation they provided me as part of the treatment. The chirospa is very clean, relaxing and welcoming. His assistants, Carrie and Bree are great. After a car accident, Dr. Williams treated my children and I for injuries to our necks and backs. I had a sore arm from the aforementioned accident and one day it stopped moving altogether. Dr. Williams was able to restore almost all movement and have me off of my pain pills within a week. He has a wonderful bedside manner and is great with kids, as well. read more

Have I ever told you how much I love this guy? No. well now I'm telling you I love this guy. I have been going to Dr. Williams for about 10 years now and wouldn't trust my back to anyone else. Despite some staff turnover they still provide great service and remain my preferred place of choice for chiropractic care. I come in hurt and leave feeling better even if it is just slightly. I have injured my back in various ways in various areas (lower, middle, upper) from working out and once from sleeping in a blowup mattress that ran out of air during the night (long story) and he has handled all of them. My wife has injured her back in various ways including a minor car accident. She now has fibromyalgia and is very sensitive however she only trusts Dr. Williams even when her pain level is high. My 8 year old, who is uncomfortable with everyone, now asks to go see Dr. Williams when her neck hurts. read more
