Last minute pedicure=first class experience!! I have some trips coming up and realized my feet looked pretty horrific "first day out of the cave". In typical fashion for me it was a last minute panic move. Well, to start they have an online booking system that is very user friendly. Got an appt for the very next morning (my panic attack happened at 830 pm). Well I got there for my 945 appt. Parked the car (there's a parking lot in the rear...which I find is a huge plus!). I came into the beautifully furnished front area and the woman behind the desk was very apologetic. There was a snafu with the booking system...my tech wouldn't be able to start until 10. 15 mins? That's what she's apologizing for?? But everyone is so lovely. She asked if she could have Caroline(?) give me a hand massage while I wait. What?? Please forgive me if I got the name wrong. Then enter Beti. Who is...it cannot be overstated...amazing. She is delightful, funny & does an incredible job. I totally lucked out as I didn't know who you were pick nor did I have an option since I'm "Last Minute Laney". I could not be happier & seriously considering changing my profile pic to a pic of my feet! Haha. Every single person I interacted with or simply saw was happy and kind. I have been going to this spa for a year now and I LOVE my massage therapist Cat!! I moved from Arizona and its always nerve wrackin because you have to find new people for everything! Cat is SO talented in what she does and is truly gifted in this area. I use to live overseas and traveled to many countries. I love thai massages, swedish, deep tissue & have had small asian women walk on me(literally, lol) You gotta book your appointments in advance because they are booked months out but it is worth it!! I have done a pedi here and it was very leveled up! I want to do my hair as I havent dyed it in awhile but I have not experienced it here and cant speak on it. However, Cat as me coming here monthly! Hidden fees. I booked a 90-minute massage and the massage itself was excellent--very relaxing and one of the best I've had. However, I was surprised and frustrated to be charged an unexpected $30 upcharge at checkout that was never mentioned when booking. The lack of transparency around pricing took away from what otherwise would have been a wonderful experience. Clear communication on costs upfront would make a huge difference. Hidden fees like this are unacceptable and leave a bad impression, no matter how good the service itself was. read more

Terrible experience!!! i would NOT reccomend this place to anyone! i set up my appointment for extensions, i paid in advance for the extension, even though they charged me an extra 20 dollars just to order, plus 25 shipping, the stylist was great, but the front desk staff treated us like we were stupid! even on the phone they put me on hold and never answered me back , i called them again and no apologies. i wish i could have read the reviews on here before, i ended up with something totally opposite of what i was hoping for, ( shit extension, very expensive, terrible customer service front desk ) and now i have to look for another place to reschedule i definitely will not go back! read more

The Spa on West Main is a beautiful old house on Main Street that is quaint. It has a very relaxing atmosphere and everyone was friendly . I had never had a massage but was given one as a gift from my family. I was not sure I'd be comfortable, or if a massage was my thing. That all ended the minute I met Mara Dye. She was amazing and immediately made me feel at ease and comfortable. I felt very pampered by her while she worked her magic. I booked a spa day for myself after a physically and emotionally hectic period of time at work last summer. After a poor experience, I sent them an email via their website, hoping the owner or manager would reach out and try to mitigate the problems I'd experienced with an apology. Unfortunately it's now been months, and now that I'm reading the experiences of others at this salon, I feel compelled to share my own experience publicly. As I said, I scheduled a spa day after a particularly hectic few weeks of work. I was physically and emotionally exhausted (although in pretty good spirits, because I love my job even if it is sometimes a lot). I told the desk this when I planned my spa day, which was for a massage, a brow wax, and a mani pedi. I was SO EXCITED when they were able to take me, and even more excited when I arrived on the day. I had a wonderful massage, and then a lovely brow wax. I went downstairs and told the desk I was ready for my mani pedi. I was told there'd be a brief wait, so I sat in the lobby. I was pretty blissed out from my massage, and texted my husband to tell him what a great decision the spa day had been. I mention that because that text had a time stamp, so when I tell you how long something took from this point forward, know that I am not exaggerating. These are facts. I was offered and drank a bottle of water. Fifteen minutes passed, and I was still waiting. Blissed out and having a relaxing day, I wasn't chasing anyone, but despite an employee manning the desk just a few feet away, no updates were provided. After about 30 minutes of sitting and waiting, I was moved to the manicure station. Someone else was having their nails done, but no one acknowledged me, or told me how much longer it would be. The woman from the desk appeared every ten minutes or so and said there had been a delay and they'd get to me soon. There was at least one employee who didn't seem to be doing much, but I assumed she wasn't a nail technician. After another 30 minutes, my massage bliss was fading into anxiety and anger. Remember I am completely exhausted from work. I am frazzled and came here for relaxation and pampering, and I have now been sitting in various chairs with almost no human interaction for an hour. I have not been offered another beverage, or food (it's lunchtime), or an explanation of why I'm sitting here being ignored. Finally, an hour after I left my brown wax, they move me into a pedicure chair. I am offered a drink and a snack, and another woman sits in the chair next to me (she'd just walked in the door, although I don't know if she had an appointment or not). She is offered a drink and a snack several minutes after I was, and it appeared immediately, and her pedicure commenced promptly, while I'm still sitting there, confused and upset. Finally I decide I've had enough-- all of the bliss I'd gotten out of the massage at this point has been obliterated. No one has apologized, no one has told me what was going on, no one has acknowledged in any way shape or form how bizarre this experience is for me. When my drink finally arrives (no sign of my snack), I thank the woman who brought it to me but decline it, since I'm not staying. I take my feet out of the water they'd been soaking in for at least ten minutes at that point, wipe them off while everyone in the room stares at me awkwardly and I am near tears with frustration and disappointment, and go to the desk to pay. At THIS POINT, the woman at the desk apologizes, discounts the services I did get, and explains that there had been a bridal-trial appointment that ran long, affecting the timing of my mani-pedi. Of course, at this point, I don't give a flying flip what had happened, but hey, at least I know now. Then she proceeds to (accidentally) charge me for all the services I'd been scheduled for, including the mani-pedi I never got, and doesn't know how to reverse the charge, so she cashes me out from the cash drawer what she's overcharged me. She's apologetic about this whole situation, but her apologies, frankly, are about an hour too late. I sent all of this in and email via their website later that day, in hopes for an apology, or at least an acknowledgement that I was very poorly treated. I haven't heard a word, this all happened six months ago. I sent my husband the first "wow that massage was amazing" text at 12:43pm, after I was told to wait for the first time. I sent him the next, "this has been the worst spa experience of my life" text at 2:04pm, as I was walking to my car, finally having left. All in all, if you want one service here, I'm sure it's all perfectly fine. I, however, will never go back, in spite of the fact that I had two perfectly lovely services there. My experience outside of those services was so disheartening and upsetting, I would never recommend them to anyone, and I will never be back. read more

Do not consider or use this salon for any bridal services. The stylists themselves are pleasant and do a nice job, however the owner has horrendous customer service and management. Don't risk your special day by coming here. I was recently here as part of a bridal party and we left with a terrible experience entirely attributed to the owner, who can only be described as a lose canon. The bridal area is downstairs in the basement. Its cramped and hot. There is frequent traffic by staff going up and downstairs. That could have been overlooked, however the owner made quite a few offhand remarks throughout the morning towards our group. She seemed to have a chip on her shoulder despite the fact that we were paying quite a lot for these services. The tension with the owner came to a head when she aggressively came downstairs to tell us that we needed to leave. There appeared to be a miscommunication about us using the space until our wedding shuttle picked us up- which could have been calmly and collectively resolved. Instead, the owner was aggressive, effectively yelling at us that we were drunk (We were not. We were a group of adults, excited to be celebrating a wedding), and repeatedly threatened us with her "cop husband" who was upstairs, claiming that we were a liability, despite the fact that we had advised we had a shuttle coming to pick us up. Her screaming at us was surprising and mind boggling, given that we never had the opportunity to discuss her concerns rationally and in a respectful manner. We scrambled to remove ourselves from the situation, trying to shield the bride and mother of the bride from this woman, and make alternative arrangements for the groomsmen to pick us up given the urgency to get away from this negative and angry woman. The owner has absolutely zero customer service, ability to communicate calmly, and her behavior could be described nothing less than bizarre and absolutely crazy. Im surprised shes able to run a business centered around customer service. She effectively ruined this part of the day for us and appeared to want to pick a fight. Absolutely do not use this salon or risk getting the wrath of the owner. read more

My husband surprised me with a spa day and I was so excited! The building was beautiful inside and out. However, my nail technician was around the same age as me and took this as a sign that she could gossip with me and the other nail techs about their drama at work and home. Instead of it being a relaxing time I was stuck listening to the girls complain and whine about being nail techs when they wanted to be hair stylists. There was a young girl getting her toes done for her birthday and the nail techs weren't even talking to her or making her feel special on her big day. I decided to be the person who would talk to her since I wasn't going to be doing any relaxation. She was so happy to have someone to talk to. Please train your nail techs how to professionally work with clients! After the mani and pedi I felt really stressed but the 30 minute foot reflexology was great. I fell asleep pretty quickly so I will be back for the massage, nothing else. read more

I can say that I got a great haircut. However, the back of my neck was cut by the electric razor that was used. It was red, raised and irritated for at least a week. I contacted The Spa On West Main and shared a picture of the injury. Management didn't respond, but my hairdresser did call and offer 20% off my next haircut, which meant I should return. For what I paid for the haircut and tip, I should have gotten my money back. The management didn't seem very concerned about my injury and didn't call me until a few days later. I was told if it didn't get better I could see my family doctor, and put antibiotic on the injury. I was also concerned that if the razor was damaged it could injure another person. My hairdresser shared that she had never done anything like my injury before the and equipment was new. I forgive her, but the response by the Spa is not acceptable as far as I'm concerned. I had two appointment scheduled and when I called and cancelled both appointments, I was not asked why. read more

Well, I went here two years ago and got a pedicure which the time there was nice and pleasant but two days later all of the polish fell off. I went there this past Saturday to get a manicure and the same thing happened! I'm so annoyed as this place is, yes nice and welcoming but expensive! two year ago I let them know about the polish and they chalked it up to be bad polish but this last time I choose all new polish and at that I picked out 5 different colors! I won't be going back for any other service as I'm afraid that a hair appointment will go the same way. read more

I was highly impressed with my experience at the West Main Spa in Westminster on 7/7/20. I finally went and got my hair done this week after a very long time. My experience began by a sign at the front door, don't come in without a mask and call so they can be ready. Almost immediately after reading that I was greeted by a team member at the door. There was hand sanitizer available on a table. I was asked fill out a survey related to Covid questions after she took my temperature with a forehead thermometer (scanner). I was taken back to my stylists chair which was distanced from all other stations. Everyone was wearing a mask. I might also mention that my stylist is pregnant . In between my coloring she moved to another station to do a cut. She finished with her, sanitized the station and returned to me. She took my foils out and shampooed me in an area isolated by plexiglass. She brought me back to stylist chair and sanitized the shampoo bowl. She cut my hair, I paid and was out all within under 1 1/2. I felt safe and confident. They will also do your hair outside on their porch if that makes you feel better, they have a beautiful wrap around shaded porch. I saw Sarah Collins, I also recommend Brett Morgan. Last time I went here, I had a great massage but it was spoiled by my experience after. My mom had apparently called ahead to pay for my massage as a surprise. When I showed up, the staff said nothing about it and I of course paid when I left from my appointment. I got home, and my mom informed me we had paid twice. I went back to get a refund for the second charge, and the girl at the register tried to process a refund but I could see she was struggling with how to do so. She left me with an "I think it went through", and I left never seeing that money again. But I'll never go back because of that experience. They basically stole my money and wasted my time by not knowing what they are doing. read more

Was a committed customer for many years, but stopped going 4 years ago. After the very controversial 2016 election, I went to get my hair done and the salon owner had a huge political display in the middle of the salon. The ENTIRE time I was there, paying a LOT of money for services, the salon owner talked politics the entire time and bashed those who didn't follow her agenda. So did her client/friend. I found it to be VERY unprofessional and disrespectful to her paying customers. There's a time and place for such conversations and displays that spark political divide. In a (supposed) calm and relaxing spa is not that place. An owner should have more tact. Clearly we all don't have the same views and some of us can be deeply triggered over controversial politics being thrown in their faces while paying for a pampering service. That's hardly the proper atmosphere to discuss and parade your political candidate, while people are paying significant amounts of their money for a PEACEFUL SPA experience. INCREDIBLY disrespectful and most definitely unprofessional. I left there that day completely stressed and upset. Not what I paid $200 for. Never went back. read more

Never going here again :( , I'd call and confirm a few times before coming. On top of which when we showed up they said they had no appointment for us with our names anywhere. I had my first experience with The Spa on West Main on Nov. 2nd 2018. Everyone was very professional & pleasant. My massage was with Mara Dye I have to say it was the best massage I've ever had. After we talked about my issues she went to task. I have a lot of crystals in my shoulders & neck from the work that I do. She worked them all out with some a deep tissue massage. After she was able to do that she gave me a Swedish massage on the rest of my body. Absolutely amazing I would highly recommend Mara for what ails you. I'm hoping to go back & tell my daughter & her husband to visit her. Thank you Mara and the Spa great visit. I also had Cheyenne for a facial again I was not disappointed. She addressed my issues & recommended a product for the redness in my face. My facial was a quiet peaceful experience because who wants to chitchat when your being pampered.
