My husband and I made reservations for the "Day Spa By The Sea" package at $275 per person. We both got the 60 minutes massage but I had the scalp treatment, which took away time from my masssage. My husband had an added aroma oil treatment. His massage was wonderful, but my massage was ok, it wasn't relaxing and lacked technique. I felt like oil/lotion was just being applied to my body and then wiped off clean with a hot towel . Much time was involved with adjusting the blanket during the massage. Part of me wanted to say, "I don't mind, leave it alone" The package contained more perks and $50 each towards the restaurant. Was it worth the $600 for the 2 of us, I think not. But the hotel scenery was beautiful and relaxing. read more

To start, I am from Reno NV and we have some pretty great spas in our area so that is what I am comparing it to. The spa is located downstairs of the Cliff Hotel. It was a little confusing to find as there are no signs to point you the right direction. Once we got there, we got the short rendition of the amenities, although they didn't mention the pool or spa, which at the end we found were included with the massages. The changing area is small but adequate. There is a small waiting area in front of the sauna. Down a short hall is a relaxation room. It is not super quiet as all the doors seem to slam. My husband signed us up for the couples Zen Massage and although it was very relaxing, the pressure used was very light, again this may be due to the type of massage. After the massage we were taken to the relaxation room for a complimentary foot soak and champagne along with a nice heated rice pillow for our necks. We did use the sauna for a bit, quite toasty. Overall, an ok experience. read more

Vacationing around pismo, so why not get a massage, right? There were lots of options in the area, and I did my best to research multiple locations before choosing diafeliz at The Cliffs. I went with this location as it was close to where we were staying and appeared to have some additional amenities like a sauna and relaxation room that we could utilize before or after the massage. Upon arrival, it was a bit hard to find. The space is very small compared to other hotel spas we've been to previously. We received a short tour and explanation of facilities, handed sandals, and went on our way. Locker room..small but nice and clean. The shower and lockers are in line with the door, but there is a curtain to block the sight line from the door. There is not much space if there are multiple people changing at the same time. There is also only 1 shower, so you may need to wait for your turn if occupied. Zen massage.... this is described as light to medium pressure, and there was no option for deviation. I did ask if I could do the full-time face down instead of turning halfway through as it often is uncomfortable and strains my neck due to posture issues. The masseuse was thrown off by this and insisted that I turn ensuring me they can better access my neck and shoulders and that it will feel better. The massage began, and this was the lightest massage I have ever had. Lots of gentle circular motion without any pressure. For example, every massage I've had, when they are working my forearm, my fingers naturally curl. When they worked my forearm here, my fingers did nothing. In all of my previous experiences, they check in with you on pressure, but not here. The flip... I did flip, and they spent practically no time on my neck or shoulders at all. My neck was strained the entire time and felt worse after the massage. Even excluding my neck, since the pressure was so light, I felt no better than I did before the massage. It did come with a complimentary coconut milk foot bath and champagne in the relaxation room. Which would be nice, except that it's not relaxing as you constantly hear doors open and slam shut. The sauna was the best part. It's an adequate size and co-ed. There is a bucket of water to pour over the hot rocks as well. The door doesn't shut completely on its own and there is no handle on the inside but the staff did a great job of shutting it as they walked past when new folks were touring the spa and opened the door to peek in. There is also an outdoor heated pool and jacuzzi you have access to. They didn't mention this online or in the introduction, but we did confirm prior to leaving that we did have access. I'm not sure if I would come back. If I do, at least I know what to expect and will definitely not get the zen massage. read more

The most obvious amenity within this spa, however, is the friendly atmosphere & attentiveness of the staff. They go above & beyond to ensure your experience feels relaxed & pampered. My massage with Monica was outstanding. She has a gift for intuitively finding, gently releasing & opening muscles & joints that I didn't even recognize as being in need of attention. Application of warmth & personally selected oils & essences made for an additional layer of treatment which completed an exceptionally lovely experience. First time at this wonderful little spa. From the beginning- easy making an appointment, filled out short health survey online received confirmation email. Day of appointment- friendly woman at check-in. Lockers have digital locks, no carrying around a key. The locker room, showers, and areas to do your hair and make-up are extremely clean and well stocked. I had a fantastic facial by Marijke. Her first question was are you comfortable, would you like a warmed blanket. Now usually when I reply that actually I run hot, so no thanks, I get no response. Marijke turned off the heat from hhe treatment table, And did magic to make the room cool. This greatly enhanced my experience. There is a sauna, again very clean, nice. The facilities are nice. Small spa on the pool level of the resort. We had Allison and Leyla for a couples' massage. Alison did a Zen Relaxation Massage on me and tried to work out some tightness in my shoulder. Leyla did a Deep Tissue Massage on her and tried to work out some lower back tightness. I liked Alison, she really tried to address my issues. She liked Leyla and said she supplied good pressure. We both came out sore, which could be both a good or bad thing. We will see how today goes and see if the soreness was productive. The locker rooms are nice and clean. There are directions on the inside of the locker doors to explain how to use them. The relaxation area has recliner chairs and looked peaceful. They have some dried fruit and nut snacks for you. They offer tea outside the sauna, which they have hot water ready to use. You're better off at dolphin bay next door.. or Sycamore resort a few miles ahead !!! The spa is located at the beautiful Cliffs Resort. I travel all over and go to a spa in almost every city I stop in. I must say the quaint ambiance is so relaxing and the attention to detail is noticeable. Decor is gorgeous. Snacks: chocolate, dried fruit, nuts, tea, water Sauna, nice and hot Relaxation room had chaise and warm soft blankets Vanity and shower area was stocked with amenities and you can sample of their products. If you're a guest at the hotel, you have access to the facility until they close at 8pm. The checkin attendant (forgot her name) was polite, the spa attendants all said hello .. which is huge to me (acknowledge your patrons) and the therapist Marisa was AHhh-mazing! Everything started off just fine. So I wanted to see if I could book something same-day, knowing it was a long shot. Left a voicemail, got a call back while driving, had to coordinate with my sister and finish an errand so said I'd call them back as soon as I could. Called back several times over the next hour, but left one voice mail [not wanting to be too annoying by leaving more than one]. Everything up to this point was pleasant. When I got a call back a couple hours later, there was only space for one of us to get a treatment. I said, okay, can the other one of us hang out in the pool area at least [since originally they suggested we do that since we couldn't book for the same time]? Got told no, not without a treatment. Me: "Ah, that's a bummer! Sorry, I tried calling back several times after we first talked but wish I'd caught you earlier--" And she went OFF on me suddenly, saying she could pull up the voice mail and my time stamp of when I left it to show I'd taken too long so it was my fault and that I "had had something else going on anyway" [since I apologized in my voicemail for not getting back immediately and explaining I'd had to take care of a small emergency--it was maybe half an hour or so later]. I spent the next couple minutes trying to deescalate going "Whoa whoa whoa I wasn't blaming *you*, I was just saying it was a bummer that it didn't work out because, well, it is? I just mean I'm disappointed by our luck, not because of anything that you did..." At this point she laid off and tried to see if we'd book something else ["you could get a massage, or a wax, but you have to spend at least $50 on a wax and then probably can't go in the pool..."] when we'd originally just wanted pedis. No concessions, no flexibility, no apology for having just bitten my head off for no reason. A massage costs way more than a pedi, but I totally would have sprung for it if I hadn't just been barked at. At this point I was so put off by the way she'd just talked to me [my sister even overheard it, sitting 10 feet away, and was grimacing in disbelief] so I just said no thanks and I hung up. I get not having availability. We didn't book in advance, and we weren't super prompt in calling back. Things happen, and this is a stressful time for service providers. That is all totally fine. But being immediately defensive and nasty to a potential customer who's being polite, going off on them until they start apologizing to you for nothing and clarifying an imaginary slight...and then immediately trying to upsell them on things they didn't even want, without skipping a beat? I had the worst facial ever in my life from Lorie. She wore rubber gloves that were sticky and tacky on my face. She upsold services that were awkward to receive. Her process was strange and she spent more time behind each washing her tools than she did on my face. No moisturizer no eye gel no lip gel nothing that made it feel like a facial at all. Masseuse Eanna nice lovely person made me feel relax and comfortable only complaint I have is that I had scheduled a deep tissue massage and it felt more like a Swedish massage which is $20 less than the deep tissue but she did incorporate hot stones as a complimentary which helped feel more of a pressure. Stayed at the Cliffs resort for a girls getaway for 3 nights. Had a deep tissue massage with CBD pain relief and a hand/foot scrub by Monica. I've had many massages, and Monica is one of the BEST! She was very knowledgeable and was able to target all my problem areas and relieve all my stress and knots. It was a WONDERFUL experience! I left feeling so relaxed and unstressed. AWFUL EXPERIENCE. Booked a couples massage for my girlfriend's Birthday and it was almost as expensive as the cost for staying in the Cliffs Hotel for the weekend! We were still super excited as the couples massage was the reason we decided to get away and book the few night get away in the first place. After speaking several times in advance with the receptionist, we decided to secure our spot on the final booking slot for a 90 minute massage for Sunday evening, our last night. Sunday finally came and after spending a few hours swimming in the ocean on the beautiful beach below the hotel, I entered the spa around 5:30PM wet and sandy to check us in and let them know we would be arriving on time. I confirmed that this was their last appointment of the weekend and asked the girl at the front desk if I could bring anyone a beverage from the gift shop for when they finished their final shift. She said she was OK, but didn't know about the people who would be giving the massages. We entered the spa just before 6PM with some beverages we JUST BOUGHT at the gift shop for us and to give away to the workers for after the treatment. We had read online in the reviews of people enjoying champagne in their massage rooms, even given to them by the Dia Feliz spa! (Look at review from Tina Y. from 10/27/2020 "So nice to enjoy champagne and chocolates afterward.") Upon entering the spa I opened a spiked seltzer and began pouring it in a cup. The girl at the front desk said that they did not allow alcohol. I was super confused and started to ask about the reviews we read online when one of the masseuses, Nina I think, came running into the room WITHOUT A COVID MASK ON and in a loud passionate speech claimed that they had a policy for no alcohol. Further confused, we still went with the flow and said that we wouldn't have to drink and we were ready for our massage. Then she goes into a whole explanation about how she didn't want to do a deep tissue massage, (which costs a lot extra and the kind of massage that I enjoy in which I signed up to get), especially after I had been swimming and surfing all day! Again, we were agreeable, as I figured she was probably tired after a long day and we were just excited to get any massage and be together. They lead us to our couples room and we sat and got ready. And we sat, and sat, and waited, and sat some more. Around 6:25 -6:30, someone knocked on the door and it was a manager of the hotel, Tihana Garcia. She was very combative, claimed we were drinking, and that she and Kylie Burkhouse, the spa manager, had decided that we were forbidden to get a massage that night. There was no discussion with a Kylie, as she wasn't even there that day. Tihana did a terrible job of explaining anything, including their policies in regards to why they give people alcohol but we weren't able to bring any in with us that we had just bought to bring at their gift shop. She was accusatory, rude, unprofessional and seemed very inexperienced. They had made this decision without even speaking to us! We figured they just didn't want to work a 90 minute massage at the end of the weekend, but that ended up ruining ours. Even worse was the follow up. NONE. ZERO. We were staying in the hotel and this is the reason why we had come in the first place. Tihana nor Kylie (?) nor ANYONE for that matter tried to make this right in any way. They didn't offer anything in the form as a reschedule for the next day or for another time. Not even an apology. They just didn't care. Overall the staff of the hotel was pretty amazing, from the check in people, to the valets, to the house cleaners, the gift shop staff, and the workers in the restaurant. So, I am glad this review is separate from the hotel itself, with the exception of how hotel management handled this situation. I don't want to knock the rest of the hotel staff as they couldn't have been friendlier and more helpful. My advice, just don't book the final massage of the weekend nor try to bring any beverages as a thank you to the staff. read more

Wow! Just wow! I made this Yelp account so I can tell you guys what an amazing experience I had. I've gone to this spa over 6 times now and I LOVE it. I won't go to any other place other than here. Everyone here is AMAZING and so friendly! I've had couples massage before and facials. Hands down the best in town. Ask for Chelsie or Tatiana. They will give you an amazing massage! You won't regret it I promise. Ginnaea gives the best facials ever. I've always felt refreshed when I leave. I love the lounge set up that they have for you to relax in after your treatment. It's so nice and peaceful. They even give you a complimentary glass of champagne. You can also use their sauna, hot tub & pool for the day! The manager Danielle even does follow up after your treatment is done to see how everything went. I was blown away. That's shows great costumer service!
