The waiting area may be small, however, it's impeccably decorated and the receptionist is friendly and personable. The Spa at 21c may not be as large as other spas in the Cincinnati area, however, I found the service top notch. The salt scrub and massage were just what I needed to relax my mind and my body and rid my arms of the "fish scales" I inherited from dry skin. Super happy with Amanda during my first massage ever! She was so kind and educational; with 12 years under her belt, I knew from the moment I saw her that she was the real deal. A bit unconventional, how I ended up at the spa... I actually was making a fair attempt at romanticism for my husband when I booked him a 30 minute express massage before a wedding we were both to attend. However, he wasn't as enthused as I had hope. The day of, sadly, I had to call in and cancel/reschedule. Luckily, they were able to reschedule me for the same weekend and I wasn't out the full amount of the massage. If you're not staying in the hotel, they offer complimentary valet. This was so nice. Seriously, just this extra step was the icing on the cake. It was quite nice to have this amenity. Once I was up on the 11th floor, I was greeted by a very nice receptionist who got my paperwork squared away before meeting Amanda. Once in spa suite 2, Amanda went through the entire process with and was accommodating with pressure changes the entire massage. I was very relaxed, had a wonderful 30 minutes of peace and body re-composure. Ah, it was so nice. I hope to afford a couples massage or full treatment someday, I have no desire to go anywhere else but 21c for future spa appointments!! read more

So, I came here as I was gifted a massage for my birthday and the spa had been talked up by a friend so I was excited to go. I was not staying at 21c. You have to wait in the little waiting area/reception vs a pre-treatment room as other spas have. The deep tissue massage I had was good. The treatment room was very nice and large. Heated floors! However, I was not prepared to not have access to an area where I could get ready after my treatment. I was allowed to shower like lightening in the treatment room (great shower) but had to leave ASAP as the room was needed for next client and had to get ready in the hallway powder room. No hairdryer either. I mean, the facility is very clean, light and modern, treatment was at par with the massages I would expect and usually get - but don't expect a real day spa with the service bells and whistles. Pricing is high, comparatively to other high end spas so I personawould choose elsewhere with my own money if I had the flexibility to go out of the downtown area. read more

Wife and I booked a massage here following a long, busy year. While the waiting room is small, the staff are tremendously friendly and make you feel right at home. Korey (with a K) was amazing. I lift heavy weights regularly and run marathons. Went here feeling pretty soar and run-down. The Spa at the 21c Hotel is located on the 10th floor of the hotel and is the closest I've come to feeling like I'm on vacation while right here in Cincinnati. Is it pricey? Oh yes it is. Is it the highest-end luxury spa experience available in Cincinnati? Oh yes it is. If you're not a guest at the hotel, you can get free valet parking for your spa appt. and then check in with the front desk to get buzzed up to the 10th floor on the elevator. Then up another flight of stairs to the spa itself. The waiting room is small and the chairs are actually quite uncomfortable, but the service is immediate and gracious. I had a special package for this visit which included a body scrub, soaking bath, massage, and steam shower for a reduced price. All the services took place in a private suite with 2 tables (one for the scrub and one for the massage), a massive soaking, jetted tub, and walk-in steam shower. It really added to the luxury for me that everything happened in one private room, including changing before & after, and the same therapist performed all services. The body scrub was one of my favorite parts--vastly superior to others I've had in Vichy rooms, because you're not cold and wet. She used a vanilla sugar/salt scrub and scrubbed pretty much everywhere a thong bikini doesn't cover (note: if you're not comfortable having your stomach touched, mention it beforehand). The soaking tub was truly massive, but that experience left a bit to be desired. First, getting in and out of it was downright dangerous while oiled up/wet--you have to climb over a wide marble edge and then it's a fairly deep step even on to the bench portion. I actually slipped and bruised the inside of both thighs pretty badly. So be careful! They really should add a rail and/or more gradual step-in. Also, I would request a slightly cooler temperature next time, it was uncomfortably hot for me. The other big miss for me was the time between the bath and the massage. The therapist gave me a 5 minute courtesy knock to get out of the tub/dry off/get on to the massage bed, but then didn't actually come back in for at least 10+ minutes. Meanwhile, I'm feeling like a boiled lobster, going from the very hot bath to face-down on the heated massage table, covered with a blanket. Even sitting up just wrapped in a sheet, I was too warm. The therapist was appropriately concerned when she came in and put some cold stones on me to help me cool down. After that, I really enjoyed the massage. The service concluded with 15 minutes in the steam shower. I would have much preferred longer in there vs. the bath (25 minutes) as I felt like I had to actually shower/wash and try to enjoy the steam within the allotted time. That was the one downside of the all-in-one private suite as I felt some urgency to wrap it up and get dressed quickly to free up the room. Overall, it was an amazing, luxurious and pampering experience, with just a few misses away from perfection. Prices are sky-high compared to anywhere else in Cincinnati, but for a very special treat (or if you can find a special), it's an experience I would definitely recommend. To really make a day of it, check out the artwork on the first and second floors and maybe even grab lunch at Metropole before or after. read more

I have chosen 21C Spa for special day out with my mom, who was visiting from out of the country (!) -morning massage treatment, lunch and then hair appointment. 21c pops as the best spa in Cinci so my expectation were high. I took day off work for perfect day with my mom. Except...when we showed up at 21c, we were told they double booked our slot and couldn't take us in. Didnt bother to call in advance to, at least, save me a trip to downtown. Discount massage was offered for the afternoon, except, Spa should accommodate its clients' time, not the other way around. It was my first time at the Spa at 21c. I came with 4 other girls as a part of a bachelorette party. They accommodated our group and put 3 girls into one room and myself and the other girl had private rooms. We bought a massage/facial package. I received my massage first and it was wonderful. I loved all the hot towels that they alternate between your back, feet and neck. I loved the steam shower that you can utilize after or in between services. Next, was the facial part. I had not had a facial before so the aesthetician went over all the treatments I would be receiving. Overall, it was a great experience. I really enjoyed my experience at The Spa at 21c. I chose the men's facial which was really special. To start out, Natasha walked me through the treatment process and got a steam shower going for me to get relaxed. Natasha has magical hands! I was pleasantly surprised with the attention to detail. At the beginning of the service, she gave me a status report on how my skin was that day and suggested a course of treatment to help the situation. The massage itself gets 5stars!! Ben did an amazing job, for the price there is work to be done. The space doesnt feel or smell like a spa. There are a variety of products to select for purchase but there is no option on he oil used for service. When i walked in i thought the space smelled like oil... like the kind in paint. Enjoyed my service but couldnt help thinking the same smell was in the room - go figure it was the oil being used. No bueno! Who in the hell wants to smell like that. The service does come with use of the shower & steam option in the massage room, but its timed. You get a whopping 15 - 20!minutes to enjoy the shower/steam and get dressed. I literally had the masseuse knock on the door to rush me along because the next guest had arrived. There's no open space to relax u wind/prep for service with your party if you came with one. Or enjoy the luxurious spa robes slippers - none of wither. You do get a pantry room , plastic hair brush communal lotion/ aerosol deodorant & mini mouth wash, shaving cream & unisex disposable shaver, blow dryer & hair comb attachment to "get ready". For a boutique hotel I would expect more of a spa experience. If you are staying at the hotel I guess its ok if you want to Lounge and relax go back to your room - for day spa treatments wear your running shoes because you will be all but ushered out. i am from NY and have spa'd with the best of them from spa week quickies to all day treatments. 21c in Cincinnati needs to pull up their socks/ step up their game or get out of the biz. Id expect this from a "Massage Envy" or subscription spa service environment not a hotel of this magnitude. pros: excellent masseuse, heated massage table, person steamer/shower in room. This is a nice but quite small spa. As with the entire hotel the staff is great. There are only three rooms and they are all off one hallway so if anyone is out there it can be loud and ruin the peaceful feel you are going for. That being said, they do very nice treatments- I had a massage and facial and both were very nice, particularly the hot rock massage. Between treatments there is a private steam shower in the room which was really nice and relaxing. I would definitely return again if staying at the hotel- book ahead on the weekends, due to the small size they have quite limited openings! read more

I agree with others that the spa isn't the fanciest. The waiting room is small and they don't have a relaxation room or other high end amenities. However, the massage therapists are probably some of the best my wife and I've experienced. I've been to some of the chain spas and haven't been very impressed with their therapists.
