After getting a recommendation from a friend, I went and saw Dr. Lou Walters to help with a variety of issues I was having. Issues ranging from digestive, back pain, headaches, and insomnia, to name a few. After continuously being told by regular doctors to just take another pill and all will be good, but it wasn't. Most of the time my issues got worse and then more problems kept adding on to the list. I am happy to say that I have been going to Dr. Lou Walters for over 6 months and my health has improved tremendously! I find Dr. Walters to be compassionate and he has helped me more than any other "traditional" doctor ever has. It saddens me to read the bad review above and alas I do not have insurance so I have no basis for comparison but as far as the treatment I received and am still receiving I am very happy with how things are going. read more

I have to say I'm very disappointed with The Source Wellness Center. While the treatment was fine, Dr. Walters clearly has no concept of payment or what is covered, or what isn't. I went in and he said that Aflac would cover all of my treatment. Multiple times he informed me of this. Aflac covers $120 for the first treatment, $35 after that. All the time. So when he said it was covered, I assumed he knew what he was talking about. Even before I left I asked if I needed to do anything and he said no, I was covered. Fast forward 6 months later, I get a bill in the mail. Not even a phone call, anything. Well, I signed a contract that I'm responsible for payment, even though orally he said that it was covered. So he threatened to take it to a collection agency. I never would have gone back for a follow up twice if I knew it would cost me $140. After speaking to him he didn't admit his mistake, but lowered my bill to $70. Still, $70 I never would have paid if he told me the truth: he had no idea how Aflac worked so had no idea if Aflac would cover his costs or not. I would be very careful when going here as it is clear Dr. Walters has no idea what he is talking about in some areas. It could cost you money!! read more

The Source Wellness Center is a family practice that uses natural treatments for Adult health and Pediatric health issues and wellness exams. We treat people not disease names, but we commonly help people with back and joint pain, fatigue, anxiety, depression, insomnia, heartburn/GERD, GI conditions, high blood pressure, coughs, allergies, acne, eczema and skin rashes, hormone imbalances, prostate issues, infertility, and menopausal complaints to name just a few. Dr. Lou Walters is a licensed naturopathic doctor in the state of Montana. He earned his doctorate degree at the National University of Natural Medicine, where he graduated summa cum laude. Dr. Walters is certified in homeopathy from the New England School of Homeopathy and Applied Kinesiology from the International College of Applied Kinesiology. In addition, he received special training in biotherapeutic drainage and spinal and joint manipulation.

Meet the Business Owner: Dr. Lou W.

Growing up I was obese and sickly. After college I lost 90lbs by eating healthy and exercising. My health dramatically improved. This inspired me to look into becoming an MD but nutrition and exercise therapeutics were not in their curriculum, so I passed. After being rear ended twice in 3 months I was in debilitating pain. My MD prescribed anti-pain and anti-inflammatory meds. They worked, but the pain came right back when the prescriptions ran out. After 2 years of being on the pills I asked what was the long term plan and was told, "This is it. You're one these meds for life. Don't ever run or hike again." A friend recommended I see a naturopath, who explained the body has the innate ability to heal itself if obstacles are removed and it is given what it needs. It took some time, but the pain resolved, I don't take anything for it, and I've run marathons. I have dedicated my life to help others improve their health and lives by treating the SOURCE not just the symptoms.

A while back I read a Huffington blog post entitled: How to Get Flat Abs, Have Amazing Sex and Rule the World in 8 Easy Steps. It reminded me what Dr. Lou has done for me. I refer all my friends to Dr. Lou. He is not afraid of "Eastern" practices and he welcomes me to continue to work with my "Western" medical doctors and is happy to collaborate with them whenever the need arises. Initially I enrolled in Dr. Lou's 8-week weight loss program. Six years later I still have regular visits with Dr. Lou, the last 3 years via FT after I moved out of state. That "weight loss program" I enrolled in way back when had less to do with weight loss and more about why (the source) my body was holding on to the weight. It's not about what I weigh, it is about how happy I am. Being at my ideal weight is simply a nice "side effect". Even before loosing the 30 some pounds, I found I didn't have to in order to love myself or to have phenomenal sex. Dr. Lou treated me, my whole FEMININE person - body, mind and spirit to find the source of my imbalances and beliefs that were no longer serving me. Since working with Dr. Lou, I have completely changed the trajectory of my life - I don't have a desire to "rule the world", but without I doubt, I know I am the change I want to see in the world. I love who I am and it feels wonderful to have embraced my full and powerful feminine essence. Dr. Lou is top on my list with respect to the five naturopaths I have seen over the last 15 years. He listens to his patients and responds to their symptoms and bodies from a grounded place with knowledge, patience, and balance. My intentions in seeing Dr. Lou were to reduce headaches and make the necessary lifestyle changes to reverse adrenal fatigue. These are aspects of my life that I expect to continue to monitor (though with far less scrutiny now), ultimately putting me on a path of greater balance, health, and longevity. I have increased my awareness and improved my responsiveness to my body's signals through my time with Dr. Lou. His grounded approach brings perspective to the healing process in that it is somewhat of a dance. It takes time to integrate new information into a change of lifestyle. There is no question that Dr. Lou has a solid understanding of the systems of the body. I especially appreciate the applied kinesiology aspect of his practice, as many times our bodies know more than we think. It also helped immensely in handling my headaches. I have been able to work through significant lifestyle changes with Dr. Lou which have set me on a path to greater health. I will continue to work with him through my current pregnancy and the health of my family. read more
