The Soup spot is a relatively new restaurant offering a variety of delicious Soups and mostly cold sandwiches. The variety of soups on their menu is impressive, I think they have 6 soups to choose from, I had the corn and crab and wild mushroom soups. The soups were hearty and were the perfect complement with one of there many sandwich choices. The soups are available in 2 sizes, cup or bowl. They also offer a "Soup flight" a tasting of 3 soups to choose from the menu. A no frills soup spot where you order and pick up at the counter. Remember to clean up after yourself as there is no table service. I'll definitely be returning to try more of their delicious soups. It's a must-visit for soup lovers and when the casino takes a little more from you than you planned :)

Service was great, the waiters were sweet, the food was good and loved the presentation for soup, loveedddd the loaded potato soup and the carb and corn chowder, the chicken pot pie was a tad salty though. Only other feedback was the grilled cheese wasn't fully melted and I wasn't feeling the cupcake, but I will 100 percent be back

Their corn and crab chowder is to die for. It only costs $12 for the bowl, that's cheap for the amount of crab meat that you get. Everything I ordered was delicious. The service is great. The place has few tables to dine at. I will definitely eat here again.

WARNING: GRAPHIC DESCRIPTION OF POTENTIAL FOOD POISONING. The food I had here was mostly delicious and I left full and satisfied, but later in the day became violently ill, and I think it's because of something I ate here at Soup Spot. I did not have anything to eat before we ate here mid-day and nothing afterwards until much later and I had mostly recovered. I've experienced food poisoning several times in my life and I know what it's like. Here's the story here. I ordered a sandwich (Italian Muffaletta) and flight of soups, where you get three small cups of soup. I tried the Crab&Corn Chowder, a Tomato Bisque, and Wild Mushroom Soup. Again, everything was delicious when I ate it. The thing that was suspicious (now in hindsight) was that my cup of Mushroom had an actual mushroom sitting on the top, like a garnish. It was the first thing I ate after the meal was served to me, which will be important later in the story, as all the food I subsequently ate went down on top of it. I like mushrooms and this one seemed tasty but did have a weird consistency, almost like it had either been over cooked or under cooked. Kind of slimy. I see another trusted reviewer here on Yelp posted 7 days ago, had the same soup, and there is no wild mushroom in his bowl. I've searched some other reviews and photos from this location and there's no pictures out there of a mushroom on top. You can see it in my photo but it's not a very clear picture. The mushroom was like a small conch shell shape, with fins around the side of the stem swirling up to a small cap. So about an hour and 15 minutes later I started feeling nauseous and weak. We were down the boardwalk at another restaurant and I felt like I had to throw up, and thankfully was able to get outside and sit down before that happened. The fresh air seemed to help but sadly after about 10 minutes in the boardwalk chair I turned my head to the side and violently projectile vomited. Twice. Then a third time with wrenching pain as my stomach struggled to empty itself. Sat for awhile, felt a bit better, was able to walk about 1/4 mile back to the hotel, and basically got into the bed and again felt weak and nauseous for awhile. Late night I would up getting up again and wrenching the rest of my guts out into a trash can while sitting on the toilet. The last of the heaving felt like the mushroom was a demonic force at the bottom that did not want to come out. Everything else was mostly digested but it was a rough ride. The reasoning behind me going into extra detail is just to demonstrate why I think it was the "wild" mushroom that made me ill. I don't want to trash the restaurant or scare people off, but be aware. I have attended wild mushroom hunts with experts in the field and observed online discussions about the hobby, and bad mushrooms can sometimes easily confused with the good ones. Or maybe this one spoiled. But it's odd that it was in my cup and I can't find a picture from there with it in anyone else's cup or bowl. Best of luck and stay safe out there folks.

Good, casual soup and sandwich joint in the Ocean hotel. Makes a nice alternative to some of the busier sit-down restaurants.
