Avoid this place at all cost…read more We were purposely ignored by 3 waiter's / waitresses, taking priority by serving and seating friends. Taking their order first, we politely asked for our order to be taken 4 times. Each time their reply getting more rude. Even the girl on the bar decided to discriminate against my friend because she was Dutch. Honestly a joke of an establishment

The only person in there was the owner. What was the reason it was empty...still trying to figure it out. This place is cleaner and nicer than Barnini...though they don't have bagels (love a good bagel!). I only ordered an Americano as I really just wanted a place to sit. Nice and clean...nothing I'd change. For coffee lovers- they have a variety of coffees, including "slow koffie" ...filter coffees and vacuum filter coffee. Majority of beans are from a local roaster in Antwerp. They make all their own ice creams and have varieties of milkshakes etc. Food menu is quiet limited but looks nice. Wine also available.

First of all, Escobar is so much bigger than I expected. It's very spacious and has a garden. When you walk in, you pass the counter with all of the desserts. After long, careful deliberation we decided on the whipped cream tart with raspberries and the blueberry cake with cream cheese icing. To pair with our sweets, I chose The Royal Mint iced-tea (strawberry lemonade with mint) and my sister-in-law went with La Vie en Rose (lemonade with rose blossoms). So delicious - everything! Escobar was such a great discovery - I'll definitely be back!

The menu seems to be in Dutch only although the staff speaks English. Locals seem to enjoy smoking outdoors, making a smoke-free dining experience a challenge... Ordered eggs with a ham topping and it was a filing breakfast! There appeared to be 3 eggs with a very orange yolk! Had a pain au chocolat and it was a fantastic side to the breakfast! Pain au chocolate was a generous portion and very light and flaky! The latte was also excellent. Excellent latte art, perfect temperature, along with a piece of Italian chocolate on the side! 13 Euro for breakfast!

However as a place to grab a snack and a coffee it actually was all that bad. Sure, the coffee wasn't anything all that fantastic, but my opinion of coffee seems to regularly change. The staff were fairly nice and the cafe itself quite cosy. It certainly is a decent place to stop by if you want a drink, or a mid-morning snack.
