We just enrolled with The General. Out of curiosity we received auto quotes from various other…read moreinsurance companies. We were shocked to find that State Farm was not only less money down, but less per month. The General does not take into consideration that one car drives less than 100 miles in a year, and one driver only drives in cases of emergency purposes only. For the lower rate, State Farm also offers roadside assistance and a complementary tow package. All of this is taken into consideration for the lower down payment and lower rate! Needless to say, we will be switching insurance companies before our first payment with The General. It seems like the smarter choice considering the down payment for State Farm is less than our monthly payment for The General, and the monthly payment for State Farm beats the General by more than twenty dollars!!!
