Ive been in contact with State Farm off and on since August of last year, due to questions about my dad's policies and what to do. Doug did not call me back nor did he even ask about my father once, knowing the sad situation. My father was a loyal customer to Doug Tagler, paying in person for over four decades, along with his siblings and father, with multiple policies. Since I had to cancel policies on my father's behalf due to his situation, he was no longer of any value. Disgusting and disappointing, to say the least. I've lived in California now for over 25 years and never has our Farmer's insurance agent ever treated my family out here this way. Word of mouth is a powerful tool and I will never recommend State Farm to people I care about! Do better, Doug!

I even hired an insurance coverage lawyer and discovered that my claim should have not been denied. Now I have to pursue legal action against West Bend insurance at an additional cost. I trusted Bruce Wazny to be truthful with me and am completely dismayed and disgusted that he lied and sold me an inadequate policy for which I was paying $1500/month. A neighbor recently had a tree fall on the roof of her house. The tree branch fell off the neighbors tree and onto her roof. I guess, the law in Illinois is that if a tree falls on your house, regardless of where it came from, it is the responsibility of the homeowner. The branch ripped the gutters off my neighbor's house, broke the porch railing, ripped off the fascia and soffit, damaged the siding, and cracked one of the roof beams (I think it's called a gable). You could see the damage by standing in the yard and looking up into the fascia. I know, from being a homeowner, and having my roof replaced, the cost of repairing this damage is about $30,000 if not more. The shingles have to be removed, and the roof deck (plywood) has to be removed inorder to get to the roof beam. State farm sent someone out, they stood on one portion of the roof, said the roof was fine, and determined they would only pay for the soffit, fascia, and porch railing. Holy S***, are you kidding me!!!! This neighbor has had insurance through Joe LaBella's office longer than I had, and now had to go up on her roof and patch her own roof, through no fault or negligence of her own. Wow, that is cold. I changed my insurance the next month. I will never insure through State Farm again for fear of being in that same situation.

I had been with this State Farm office for 8 years and had my auto and home insurance with them…read more State Farm as a company I have no complaints; however, I didn't really feel as if this office did anything for me....except leave me a voicemail on my birthday wishing me a happy birthday. Three years ago there was a fire on the roof of my condo building and there was water damage in my home because the hall sprinklers went off. I needed all new flooring. I called my agent who essentially told me to go online to file a claim. From there I dealt with reps that were not in this local office. They were all superb. Fast forward two years and my purse got stolen. The locksmith who changed my home locks told me most homeowners insurance policies will cover the locksmith fees. So I called my local rep to ask. I was told no they don't cover that. On a whim I decided to read my policy and it did cover locksmith costs when a purse is stolen with no deductible. So I sent an email with the part of my policy copied and pasted displaying this is covered. I got a personal phone call from Joe himself indicating it was something he never heard of and just didn't realize it was a part of the policy. He apologized and told me I can file a claim online. So I did. Two months later my bikes were stolen out of my communal condo garage. So I just went online to file a claim since this office provides absolutely zero guidance. Well guess what...I then got dropped by State Farm due to my claims history. I found this out by trying to transfer the policy to a new house. A rep called me back stating we can't transfer this, State Farm is dropping you due to claims activity and that was essentially it end of call. Meanwhile, I then could not get insurance with ANYONE. My mortgage broker got me in touch with another State Farm agent that was able to broker out an insurance policy for me. The policy is crazy expensive and bare bones. He explained that insurance companies would rather see one very large claim than three small claims in a 3 year history. He then told me my insurance agent should have explained this to me before filing these claims for me. ‍ I filed 3 claims on my homeowners insurance in an 8 year period. 0 claims on a rental property I have had for a ten year period and 0 claims on my auto insurance with a 15 year history....and I got dropped. Then this office called me when they got notification I was transferring my Auto Insurance to a new State Farm rep to confirm this and ask why! I essentially said everything to them I put in this review. Bottom line, I felt this office had zero customer service skills and little knowledge of how to advise their clients of what's best for them.
