When I'm super overwhelmed I can usually take a breather and pet someone's dog because usually there's one there. Also the atmosphere is great-- clean, professional, but not stuffy. The charge for preparing a very simple return for one of my retired parents was $1500 - growing the $2000 with additional fees for every email exchanged or tax payment mailed in. You must do all the document collection yourself - the main work - and upload it for them online. They then run the numbers and send you a bill. They deliberately space out tax payments to create additional income for themselves. Unethical, not recommended.
