The check-out line on the other hand is getting better. I no longer have to print out the coupon sheet as I used too. The clerk can scan the barcode on my phone and it works for all items that are on sale that day. Too bad their system only allows one coupon per transaction which is intentional I'm sure.

I purchased a brand new fishing rod from this Turner's Outdoorsman location. Within the first 20…read moreminutes of normal use on my very first trip, the rod blank structurally snapped. It was completely defective out of the box. I brought the broken rod and the receipt back to the store immediately to request a simple exchange or refund for defective gear. Instead of honoring a standard exchange for a broken item, the store manager refused to refund or replace it, and instead tried to offer me a 50% discount to buy a completely new rod. I asked him how he could possibly ask me to spend even more money on the exact same product when the first one failed immediately. I told him they should be giving me a new product or refunding my money, and that their refusal was in direct violation of California consumer protection laws. When I asked him if he was really going to make me go through the entire official dispute process over a defective item rather than just doing the right thing, he looked right at me and said, "Yes". Per California Civil Code Section 1723, this store failed to print any restrictive return policy on my receipt. Furthermore, under California's Song-Beverly Consumer Warranty Act, all retail items carry a mandatory "implied warranty of merchantability" ensuring they are fit for their ordinary purpose. A rod snapping in 20 minutes fundamentally breaches state law, and trying to upsell a victim of a defective product is unacceptable corporate behavior. Buyers beware: Turner's will gladly take your money but will refuse to back up defective products, completely violating state retail laws. If your gear breaks immediately, expect a manager who tries to use it as an opportunity to sell you another item instead of helping you. I am officially filing complaints with the California Attorney General and the BBB, and letting my credit card company handle them via a chargeback. Avoid this location.

His tone and facial expression clearly implied that he thought we had taken merchandise without asking. The socks were my husband's own socks, and the entire interaction felt rude, condescending, and completely inappropriate. They don't even sell the same brand socks at the store. Rather than providing customer service, the associate made him feel accused and uncomfortable while shopping. Customer service training should include basic professionalism and respect. Unfortunately, this experience left a very negative impression.

If you've never been in a Bass Pro Shop, it's all hunting and fishing gear. They sell guns, fishing poles, men's and women's clothing, and everything else you would need in terms of outdoor gear at affordable prices. The store is decorated with a bunch of taxidermies throughout. A lot of busts on the wall, near the entrance. Staff greet you at the entrance. They are available at the various counters throughout the store, and at the registers. There's plenty of free parking.

I then was trying to inquire about a Ruger mark 4 and he was rude about how they have them but won't sell them but can order them. Another customer came up behind me and asked this man a question and he scolded the customer and said he was with me, he was not and dragged me into it for some reason. He eventually got rid of the prospect and I proceeded to tell him I didn't want or need his help and to help the man he ignored. Instead he called up the next person in queue. Ironically enough, an employee was going off on a phone or radio about giving the best customer satisfaction possible lol. I got home that day realizing the fit was too narrow/tight for my high arched feet and made the decision to rerun the shoes. I went into road runner the next day, Wednesday, to return the shoes. (mind you I did not buy the membership because it was $19.99(?) plus $49.99 annually on top of the already $160 shoes.) This is when I was told by a manager named Alexis, that I had worn the shoes - when I in fact had NOT worn the shoes besides trying them on in store- and he wasn't going to give me my money back. I told him that he was wrong and needed to give me my money back. He gave me my money back very reluctantly ensuring me he didn't believe me. He told me he remembered me "not buying the membership" and that he remembered the shoes being clean and unworn on Tuesday. I left the store in tears over the interaction. Later, once I had calmed down, I realized I had taken photos of the shoes in store on Tuesday prior to buying them. It came to my realization that Gary and Alexis had sold me the floor sample shoe without telling me and then proceeded to blame me for the shoes being worn. After being treated so poorly, I will never be going back to road runner.
