Edgar is that guy. I should have left this review years ago, but I just realized I never did. I've been coming to him since the pandemic, and he's been getting my hair right every single time. When I started growing out my beard, I asked him to help shape it up and keep it looking clean and professional. He nails it every time. His attention to detail is next level. He finishes each cut with a straight blade to make sure the lines are razor sharp. I honestly think he has the hands and focus of a heart surgeon. We are lucky he chose to become a barber instead. Erica is the best barber I've ever had. She's really easy to talk to and takes her time with every cut. I've been here twice. Both times I've been very pleased with their service. Chris did a wonderful job both times. I have long hair, and wanted an undercut and trim. It's a barbershop and most don't do women's hair often.. well, Chris exceeded my expectations. He and the rest of the crew are nice and welcoming. I would definitely recommend this place and Chris. Super consistent and ACTUALLY CARES and has the perfectionist attitude to his craft. I would HIGHLY recommend him and he passes the GF's grade (she's super critical of haircuts). This place was cool. We walked in and the service was pretty quick, my son was happy and loved that there was a dog to play with. We were offered coffee twice and I thought that was nice. My son liked his cut. I liked it but it wasn't really what he usually gets (and I showed her pictures) and I felt like the fade could've been blended a bit better. (But I am a perfectionist, see pictures attached and maybe you won't agree) The place could've been a bit cleaner, it had a dog smell. But it wasn't a big deal, because we love dogs. I'm not sure if I'd take my son back, maybe with a different barber there. The price was $25 which is definitely the most expensive place I've taken him to. And I've taken him to better areas and has got a better cut. Normally it's $17-$20 at most. Which I wouldn't mind making this his shop even at $25 if he would've got an excellent cut. I watched a cut that the owner did and he did a great job, and a cut that another barber did and she did great as well. So that is why I am giving it 4 Stars. read more

My first time here I had to wait about 15 mins after my appointment time. They were all nice and apologized for the wait time but my haircut ended up being terrible. It was done by a girl which I forgot her name. I decided to give her the benefit of the doubt and schedule a new appointment with Noah only for it to be cancelled the night before without a reason or an apology. Seems like a nice place but I have to give a bad review for a horrible haircut. I chose this place because it looks premium. I noticed after I came home that the barber left the hair on the back of my head long and the hair on the front of my head super short. I haven't had such a bad haircut in a long time. And such an uneven haircut...that has probably never happened before. Again. Seems like a nice business. First let me start that this rating is due to the customer service and communication. Although, the hair cut by the girl with the purple hair (didn't get a a chance to get her name) is a big 5 and my son loves it! Thank you! Being new to the area, I was trying to find our new hair cut place for my son (5yrs). Luckily received a response from Steve to coordinate us to come in after Yelp gave me some good options. Going back and forth in Yelp messages we both responded in between 15-25 minutes later. After me confirming with him I was able to do a 12:30 afternoon appointment on a Saturday. I never received a reply back that Friday afternoon to confirm the appointment as I mentioned. Mind you it was only between 2-3pm the day of our convo which is enough time to reply and confirm if it was reserved or not. Me, assuming our appointment is locked. I come in 5 minutes before 12:30pm and entered to the most dead energy, unsocial club, no greeting, and apparently the appointment wasn't confirmed. Once little miss daisy that works next to Steve told him the issue since she tried to check us in. Steve had the audacity to tell me because "of the time in between us talking and you replying late the appointment was taken..." mind you I replied back maybe 30 min later.. which I call big b.s. Thank God I held my composure took the consideration to fit me in at a 1pm but just know Steve your are very wrong for this. You had enough time to communicate with me and don't let the customer ever feel at fault, when clearly you had no intentions to gain a new customer. Also, stop using windex to clean, use Lysol or actual kill germ spray to disinfect... hence we are still in Covid! read more

I love being in a chair, inside and totally safe. They spray down their seats, change out their bibs to a sanitized fresh one every time and they're very careful about stopping the spread and making sure their customers get what they came for. I always leave the chair a new man with an amazing cut, amazing conversation and an amazing time. I was a bit Leary about actually taking our 4 year old for a real cut. With this whole pandemic going on my hubby has been cutting our lil mans hair. Although my husband's doing a great job with our lil guy I wanted a more professional look if you know what I mean lol! I looked up barbers, reviews etc. I messaged the social cut via yelp and they responded promptly, we scheduled an appointment and they also let me know they are taking all precautionary measures and would be cutting our sons hair outside hearing that put me a little at ease. We arrived and Erica was his barber she continuously sanitized all clips and machine. She wore a fresh pair of gloves and had a mask. Watching her disinfect everything repeatedly made me feel comfortable that I made the right choice in barbershop. Looking forward to returning and enjoying the interior atmosphere once everything goes back to the norm". I forgot to mention how well she cut our boys hair. I'm a very picky mom when it comes to our sons hair. I told her what I didn't like and she understood. I got arguably the best haircut of my life from Erica today. It was my 1st time at The Social Cut, but I've gone to several barbers in the area in the $20-25 price range. Erica saw the multiple pictures I came in with of the hairstyle I wanted, listened to how I wanted it, gave input, and eventually we came out to an awesome outcome. She took her time. She was also very knowledgeable about how to maintain longer hair for a guy, as well as what products to use and how to style it. Great experience! We showed Steve a few pictures, he genuinely listened to what we were looking for, and NOT looking for, in a new men's hairstyle and he delivered perfectly. Steve took the time to clarify what my husband wanted in his hair cut and even took the time to explain how to style it himself. He suggested which type of styling product to use and how to wear his hair a couple of different ways. I wish I would have taken before and after pictures! The place has a great feel to it too- like it's some where you'd want to just hang out for a while and chill. They're friendly, skilled, and very reasonably priced. Time now served in Pomona: 2 years. The days seem to be melting together from the unrelenting heat. The seedy, uninspired streets are rolled over with drug dealers, toothless meth enthusiasts, and actual pieces of garbage. The local convenience stores are forced to blast classical music outside their doors to deter loiterers, meanwhile, the same loiterers are using my community's pool as a bathtub. Many have asked the question: can a human find a haircut in a place like this? Short answer: yes. If you are anything like me, that means you are male, kind of pasty, and may or may not have a personalized license plate. But it also means that you have searched this area for years, hoping to find a quality barber shop. And what I have found is mostly an array of un-licensed, un-reliable, un-professional, un-experienced barbers. It's happened countless times: you start building a rapport with a new barber, then BAM, the dude goes to jail. Typical Pomona. Now what I want you to do right now is walk to the corner of Garey and 2nd street. There is a building with big glass windows that faces the bank parking lot. Now peer inside the glass. The adonis that you see inside is Steve. Surrounded by high ceilings and ornate molding, this superhero is hard at work 6 days a week, forfeiting time with his wife and son to give you a god damned quality experience.
