Not completely…read moresatisfied with other dentists' results in the interim, we scheduled an appointment at River District Dentistry after reading about the clinic online. One of the big draws for us was that they use the latest technology for their dental work, which was detailed on their website. I'm happy to say our search is over as we were very impressed with the new patient overview and initial teeth cleaning. The entire staff was welcoming and made us feel right at home. Jesse and Amanda are two of the friendliest receptionists I've ever met! Niki was super nice and very patient as she guided us through the introductory process (consisting of panoramic + standard angle X-rays, full dental photos, questionnaire & dental review with the doctor). Victor and Shannon, our hygienists that day, were extremely thorough during the cleaning process and never made us feel rushed. There are two doctors at this clinic; we met with Dr. Biddle during our first visit. I immediately appreciated Dr. Biddle's method of presentation as he was going through the review of the new patient questionnaire and dental images. He took the time to really listen to my concerns and never seemed pushy with any procedure he mentioned. After presenting all the facts, he gave his opinion in a non-forceful manner, then truly left it up to me to decide if I wanted any procedure. I say "truly" because even though any dentist will need to abide by the patient's choices in the end, their method of "recommendation" can vary greatly. My regular dentists at the previous clinic were extremely pushy about getting all sorts of dental procedures done. This urgency made it seem like my teeth were about to fall apart, which was odd because overall I felt they were relatively healthy with some minor issues. I didn't appreciate this insistency of dental procedures at the previous clinic as it made their recommendations appear to be money grabs from insurance (I'm not sure if this was the real reason, but it sure came across like that). Dr. Biddle was nothing like this at all and gave us really good vibes right from the beginning. As suspected, the overall health of my teeth was confirmed; I just needed to keep an eye out for a few problem areas. The clinic itself was warm and welcoming. Even though they've been in business three years already, the place looked brand new and sparkling clean... a great reassurance when allowing someone to probe your teeth and gums with publicly-shared instruments! We will definitely be long-term patients here and are extremely thankful to the staff for providing such a great experience at, who would have thought, the dentist!

Brand new dentist in the River District area. With a new office comes fancy new equipment and tech and young staff. Really great reception team. Always friendly and welcoming. The medical staff are also very friendly but they're all very young and with that comes lack of experience. It's not a bad thing but they haven't caught anything my old dentist would have caught (or scolded me) on. They are very efficient so I'll continue to come here. Procedures we have undergone have always been thoroughly explained and justified with alternatives offered if appropriate. All our questions are acknowledged and answered patiently. We have never felt rushed or pressured. Vancouver Dental also accommodates patients with convenient hours and weekend appointments. When you arrive for your appointment, you get the impression everyone involved happy to see you and has your best outcomes at heart. Before even booking my appointment, I specifically asked about the cost because my financial situation was important to me. I clearly asked whether my insurance would cover the treatment. I was told that my insurance would cover 80% and that I would only be responsible for the remaining 20%. Based on that information, I agreed to proceed with the treatment. Then, several months later, I received a letter saying that I owed an additional $120. I went to the office to discuss this because I had specifically asked about the coverage before receiving the treatment. Instead of taking responsibility and trying to resolve the situation, the manager, Ellen, basically told me that they had many new employees, the employee who gave me the information apparently didn't know what they were doing, that person is now in Toronto, and I still have to pay the $128.80 That is completely unacceptable. If I had known from the beginning that I might have to pay this amount, I would have made a different decision. That is exactly why I asked about the insurance coverage BEFORE booking the appointment. I did my part by asking in advance. If your staff gives a patient incorrect information, the patient should not be expected to pay months later because of the office's mistake. And unfortunately, my husband's experience with this office was also very disappointing. He had a filling done there and was not satisfied with the result at all. His tooth continued to hurt and, according to him, the pain was even worse after the treatment, yet the dentist did not take responsibility for the situation. There is another issue that I find extremely concerning: privacy and patient confidentiality. The office called my husband and said that one of us had a dental appointment but they were not sure whether it was him or me because their system was apparently mixed up. A dental office should have accurate patient records and should handle patient information with the utmost care. Mixing up patients' information and then calling the wrong person about an appointment is extremely concerning. I have documentation supporting everything I am describing here, including the communications regarding the insurance and the amount they later demanded. Overall, this has been one of the most frustrating experiences I've had with a dental office. Poor communication, incorrect information about insurance, lack of accountability, an unsatisfactory dental treatment experience, and serious concerns about how patient information is handled. I would not recommend this dental office based on my experience. Before getting any treatment here, I strongly recommend getting everything in writing, especially what your insurance will cover and exactly what you will be expected to pay.

My previous dentist was knowledgeable and encouraged me to keep my teeth healthy, but had a way of being really nice about it and never made me feel terrible. Even when I showed hesitation in getting my wisdom tooth extracted (I was clearly nervous) and asked her what my options were, she very plainly said, "you can do nothing or get it removed!". Like I know that Sherlock; I was looking for more information and reasoning. One of the worst dentists I've encountered and lacks experience in patient care and bedside manner. Do not recommend - seek an alternative dentist. I will say though that the receptionists were very kind, courteous and attentive. They answered my questions politely and respectfully.

One memorable experience: After I experienced some jaw pain, I came to see her to check things out. My teeth were all fine, so nothing she could do, but she suggested I go to a RMT who specializes in intra-oral massage. I had NEVER heard of this before, but I went to the specific RMT she mentioned and it was life changing. Seriously. After just one session, my jaw pain was gone. I was so relieved and grateful! If Dr Lee hasn't suggested that, I'm not sure what I would have done.

Why patient need gloves and why not keep my own mask? My teeth cleaning done in 45 minutes with X-rays and exam but guess what was the billing -- exam, 4 X-rays (bite one), 3.5 units for scaling and floride coat .. when I argued that it's over and illegal billing, apparently Dr Lee made the staff bill template and it's set. Everyone must bill 3.5 unit of scaling along with other procedures as a must.. is it legal? Or over billing? Shouldn't be it as work and time needed? It's about making more money

They did text to communicate when I first signed up just before covid, but, either that employee did it on her own phone. or they stopped using the service they used to use to text me. either way. they would call me for appointments. and miss me as I was at work couldn't take the call. and when I called back it would go to voicemail. and they don't seem to email. so I got a missed call during work. and by the time I remembered about it and called back they were closed. couldn't recall if I had an appointment that weekend or not but I knew I had one in Aug...... decided I needed to find a dentist that texted emailed and actually answered their phones. so. why did I give them 5 stars when they told me it was 1 visit and now I have to come back for another hour of cleaning? the hygienist.... wouldn't budge. she told me it needed more than 1 hour cleaning. and she wasn't willing to sacrifice my teeth to accommodate my demands. she got receptionist in to talk sense in to me. and when that didn't do the trick they then got the dentist in. to talk to me. and finally I just agreed. NOT because they bully me, but because they cared enough to say NO, no we are not squishing 2 hours of much needed dental cleaning into a 1 hour slot. I am happy they cared enough to stand their ground. I really liked her cleaning pace. I didn't feel apprehensive because I could mentally follow along with where she was cleaning. she rocks! dentist was awesome too. came in. made sure I knew what the game plan is. when I come back again. and what we doing to make sure I stay on top of areas. Koodos to the guy who did my X-rays. it's not easy squishing those wings in there at just the right spot. he took his time. and it went well. I felt good I didn't feel nervous.
