The guy looks at ne and says 'you don't have an appointment ' So. After telling him that yes, i do have an appointment, he looks and says. After finally figuring out that 'Yes' I do have an appointment. The correct response should have been. I'll get your car in right now. Sponenberg Exhaust is a family owned and operated business in the center of Berwick. As the name…read moreimplies, their specialty is exhaust systems and automotive pipe work. I can personally attest to their skills in this area (a number of muffler detachments, and a particularly large possum mean I've had multiple vehicle jobs done here), but the establishment is an official garage and inspection station with a wide variety of services. Good labor rates and the experienced eye of the mechanics here make Sponenberg a good garage for your next car repair. Assuming you can get in there. The one downside is I'm not the only customer, and often times there's a wait time of a few days before space is freed-up for work. Can't blame them for getting a lot of business though. I've even had an engine swap performed here.

I took all my vehicles to Barto's for years. Today that changed. I took my car in on Friday to have…read morethem do an inspection and change two tires on it and it needed a tire rod end and a lightbulb which I said go ahead and change. I also asked him when I got there To change rotors for the rear that I normally do myself because it takes all of about 10 or 15 minutes. I already had the rotors. Today I decided that I didn't want to do that because it was raining outside and I figured they would give a nice little price break since I always talk to them. I got my bill and it was $123 to take off two screws for the calipers and a set screw to hold the rotors in place. They already had to take the back wheels off to do the inspection. So I confront of them today and ask him about that and he got all sassy with me so we'll maybe you should've asked for a quote in the beginning. I am a student and had to bear the whole repair cost of my car and so I asked for a discount. I got a good discount after talking to the owner but then they reduced it. I understand that repair estimate can never be final cost but still asked if I could get the initial discount just to test my luck in the day of picking up the car. A guy named Alex, I guess the son of the owner said '...we put your shit together here....there are parts, sales tax...so if you want your car today you have to pay xxxx...'. I picked up my car and left. I realized they are not '...that's the best we can do, man. sorry that you have to go through this...' type of people. Also they called me on a random day and gave me 2 days to pick up the car midweek or storage fee starts which felt like an ultimatum. I called the next day to request to withdraw the storage fee and the person picked said he can't because the owner is in vacation. Apparently the customers have to suffer because none else can take a decision while the owner is in vacation. This place is family-owned. I do appreciate the detailed inspection and overall repair, though. But they heavily lack basic people skills and organizational skills and trust me you want that.
