Scallop ceviche and half a dozen oysters
    Hallie S.

This spot is a must if you're in the area! The beautiful waterfront view is paired with exceptional service and fresh, seasonal food! I highly recommend the "Shore Plate" as it highlights the local cuisine. Additionally, the scallop ceviche and oysters the perfect appetizer! Returned for a second night in a row as we were so impressed and couldn't resist another night on the water. Again, super friendly service to accompany their delicious food options! We chose the scallop ceviche and mussels for our appetizer as well as the corn crab chowder and lobster entree with a round of refreshing drinks.

    Delicious!

Although it would be better to see the menu ahead of time - we had a delicious meal! Burgers were fresh for us landlovers, and the shore dinner was fantastic for the seafood lover! Everything was hot and the outside dining was fantastic! Trip Advisor does not have the most current menu (our server said its 5 years old!) but it worked out!!

This favorite spot was closed last summer. This year they are back with an abbreviated but appropriate menu. The dog friendly deck is a delight, their house wine is Gurnet Veltliner, their food is fabulous! Ashley, our server, was relaxed and kind.

We visit Maine every few years and slipway has always been our favorite lunch, dinner or just drinks restaurant. Was just telling my husband that slipway and rhumb line in Camden are my favs. And just read that they have same owner. Makes sense. Pretty, breezy, elegant spot. Always friendly service too and good food. The screened in dining room also has a great feel to it.

Okay, we came or three days ago and I wanted to return again. However, I thought I would just look on yelp for the heck of it. There were reviews of bad service, small portions, etc. etc. we went back anyway. We started off with the steamers and they were so good we ordered second portion. Perfectly cooked, tasty, nice portion, steaming hot (duh). Just like the first time, the service was stellar. We then moved on to the halibut ceviche, and the fried haddock. The halibut ceviche, although diminutive, was outstanding! The fried haddock and french fries, both cooked in peanut oil, which is very expensive but the most healthy as far as fried food goes, were outstanding, and large enough to split. I am not sure what restaurant the other reviewers reviewing, but the Slipway we went to was excellent as to the ambience, service, and quality of the food.

Beautiful view as the tide was going out, and the outside picnic benches were great for our large group of both adults and kids. 3 stars for the ambiance, 2 for the food. As a vegetarian I was dragged around to many non veggie friendly places while I was in Maine. The people I was with were super excited that they found a place that had listed a "vegetarian plate" on the menu. Usually I'm stuck with ordering sides and trying not to think about the cross contamination that's happening in the kitchen. The vegetarian plate had a plate full of beautiful vegetables and then some cooked tofu as well. The veggies were very yummy and I was excited to see more than just one type. The tofu needs a lot of work though as It tasted like it was warmed up fresh out of the watery box. Why not grill it and add some seasoning as well? I think there was a pesto on top of it, but I couldn't even taste it as the tofu was so mushy.

Super fresh seafood, great atmosphere, expedient service. This is not a cheap lobster shack so expect to pay standard "restaurant prices". We ate and drank like kings and queens and the bill ran about 50 bucks per person. Everyone left full and happy.

Can't beat the location and view. Food was good and so was the beer. A little pricey for such a casual place but we enjoyed it.

We arrived early and found a spot in the very small lot they have next to the building. There were plenty of street spots open within walking distance as well. The whole area fills up starting in late morning, so I would plan your trip and know all of your parking options in advance so that you aren't driving 5 miles an hour down the road looking for parking. LOL There is usually a wait, so just be prepared for it. I was able to put our name on the list and we walked around the area. Our server was great - wow was she energetic. Zipping around, smiling and engaging with all of the customers. Our food was delicious!! The sticky bun...we managed to snag one of the last few left. Again, get there early if you don't want to miss out. The corned beef hash - amazing Biscuits - YUM Gravy - savory goodness. Home fries - flavorful and not too greasy. Eggs - perfect! I highly recommend this place and I hope to be able to return again soon, during the non-tourist season.

This cozy breakfast and lunch spot is popular with locals and visitors, so you'll likely have to wait for a table. It is definitely worth the wait, but If you're in a hurry, check to see if a seat is available at the counter. Service at Home Kitchen is warm and welcoming, and you're in for a treat if you're lucky enough to sit in Zan's area (short for Suzanne). I couldn't decide between a tuna sandwich or a grilled cheese, and she suggested combining both into a tuna melt. Brilliant! Along with a shared order of large fries, it was a tasty and filling lunch. The best part? All of it was gluten free! Home Kitchen bakes their own GF bread and pastries, and they are far superior to grocery-store GF baked goods. Even though we were sated from lunch, Zan encouraged us to order dessert, since they had a GF chocolate cupcake with salted caramel frosting. On her recommendation, we got two cupcakes to go - a GF chocolate cupcake for me, and a pumpkin cupcake with maple cream cheese frosting for my friend -- which we enjoyed later in the day from the comforts of home. Wow. Super delicious. More please!

Since it was between breakfast and lunch we decided to stop into Atlantic Baking for a coffee and a pastry. Atlantic Baking is an unassuming shop right along what I'm going to consider a main street through Rockland. Not necessarily THE main street, but the Main-est we saw, so I'm sticking with that. Inside are several cases of pastries, breads, rolls, donuts and other baked goods that looked at me as if to say "I dare you". There was a cinnamon roll-ish thing that looked really good, and a Vanilla latte are what talked to me most. The staff (two young ladies on this morning) were busy hustling and, even with that, were helpful as they tried to keep taking care of customers. The vanilla latte was SUE-PERB, albeit a bit hot for my taste (had it let is cool first). As we sat having our halfway-between-breakfast-and-lunch-but-not-really-brunch snack there was a steady stream of customers, I'm guessing about 50/50 regulars and cruisers. Aside from pastries, coffees and teas, there's a cooler with canned/bottle beverages for the on-the-go beverage drinker. With as much activity as was going on during our visit you'd think it'd be difficult to keep clean, but there was a gentleman who came out frequently to take care of emptied tables, trash, etc. There are windows into the baking area, proving that they've got nothing to hide. Most everything is made on site with fresh, natural ingredients by people who take pride in what they do. Atlantic Baking is a charming place and a nice stop for a mid-morning snack

I definitely dug my fish tacos and fried zucchini fries. The fish tacos was definitely not thin piece of fish, but a nice thicker cut, and plated nicely with fresh salsa on top. The fried zucchini fries were also similarly thicker cut which I honestly didn't think would work. I would have thought that with a thicker cut, the zucchini would have required a longer cook time in the oil that would have made the exterior just a tad overdone. To my surprise, both the fish and zucchini were not overdone, and instead just perfect. A nice sprinkle of parmesan cheese added a needed salty profile to the zucchini. As a true roadside shack, there is seating outdoors on old school long wooden picnic tables. I visited after peak lunch time so there was plenty of seating which made my experience pleasant.
