I truly loved my apartment. Spacious and perfect for me and have been living there for 6 years. Maintenance always responded quickly. A few days before my move, I had a severe back injury and could barely walk, never mind drive. Jade and Isaiah arranged for me to stay for 3 more days after my lease expired as suggested by my laser therapist. I was a resident at The Slate through October 2025 and had a positive experience, which is exactly why I chose to reapply in April 2026. Unfortunately the experience this time around left me deeply disappointed. I paid $325 in fees, was denied based on credit, and was told all fees were non-refundable -- including the administrative fee, for a lease that was never created. When I asked for even a partial goodwill refund as a returning resident, I was told no at every level. I understand policies exist, but the lack of compassion for a former tenant who returned in good faith says a lot about how this company truly treats residents. I would caution anyone to carefully read the fine print before paying any fees here. read more

Recently lived here for about 1 year or so. Nothing special. The trash compactor was always down & infested the entrance with gnats and flies. The prices were a little high for the area but I think the interior of the apartments is nice, just a little small. The front office staff is always helpful tho. We had a few instances were we needed some things looked at and they always were available to help and very friendly. I can say the quality of the apartments themselves did to down, in my opinion, since first moving there. Since this has been the only apartment I've leased in Savannah I cannot speak for others so I will say it's not horrible, just average for the price you're paying. It was very cool having a liquor store & restaurant in the front of the apartment complex but the laundry mat did bring in some unwanted traffic. read more

The management is ok and responsive, it's the people that are problematic . The property however could be cleaner, people do not clean after their dogs. There are large and vicious dogs everywhere. Trash is left out in front of doors from Friday to Sunday causing smells and vermin! Breezeway is filthy from garbage leaks and debris. The rent is high like everywhere else. People drive at 80mph in the narrow parking lot. Do let this discourage you. read more

Firstly, the staff here is incredible! Karen, Destini, Jerry, and the rest are just so welcoming and make living here feel like I'm a part of an amazing community! Any problem is resolved quickly and efficiently. The community is always maintaining cleanliness, and keeping the landscaping looking fresh. I can't recommend the slate high enough. Also. Let's talk about the resident events! Monthly painting nights, s'mores nights in the summer. Super bowl parties... the list goes on and on! I love getting to know my neighbors through the events! I have lived here for over 2 years. When I first moved in the Slate was amazing. They had a Starbucks coffee machine where you could get coffee & hot chocolate every morning. They had weekend events at the pool & movie room. The past year everything has changed. Buildings are dirty. Lawn unkept. Garbage compactor is never working/always full. They still make you pay a monthly charge for "valet trash" when the compactor is broken. If you sign a lease you still have to give a 60 day notice before you plan on leaving. So when you sign your lease contract even if it ends on said date, it will actually not end on said date, but will automatically renew you into a month to month lease (that you did not sign into). Very deceptive, & office staff unhelpful & RUDE. My fiancé & I were in the office numerous times speaking to about about moving out, not once did anyone mention they we did not give them a 60 day notice. Much friendlier, cleaner, helpful places to live in Savannah.... The Slate is a no go. read more

Lived here for two years. Pretty decent apartment complex with new appliances. The lighting on the apartments facing the woods is really bad though- almost feels like a cave especially w/ my apartment because I didn't have a patio or balcony. I wish there was seating outside the dog parks or just scattered throughout because there's nothing much to walk to in the area so I'd be more inclined to walk around the complex if there was actually thing to walk to and sit and chat with residents at. I dunno. Good place though I never had any issues with management, my application and renewal were fairly easy. Overall good experience, would recommend if you have a car. read more

Place has went downhill in last few months. I have to listen to loud bass all day and night. Nights and weekends are extra loud with screaming and hollering. Management says call the police. Its their job. Grounds also downhill trash and paper in breezeways. Save your money. Place is loud and overpriced. Cheaper better alternatives. Cmon lease end. read more

Five-star apartment style living for sure! I absolutely love living here. Maintenance responds immediately. The ladies in the office are also so kind. They have never been rude to me and any small problem I have had they answer quickly and do everything in their power to fix it. The apartments are also gorgeous. They are one of the only three bedroom and three bathroom apartments in Savannah. Closets are huge walk-in closets. Also the kitchen!!! The kitchen is huge. So much counter space, so much room. We have the best apartment for hosting people with a large open layout and a charming porch! read more

not worth the $2000 rent....I loathe the day I moved in here. you definitely do not get "blissful living ". I have not had a moment of peace. the unit although quite modern and aesthetically pleasing, if u are a lower unit, forget about enjoying it. the noise from above ALL DAY EVERY DAY is like nails on a chalk board, you will hear everything your upstairs neighbors do including walking, closing door etc. And if you live under inconsiderate people (like I presently do) you will get no where complaining about them. I took videos and audio to the office with promises they'd handle it.... No results. clearly there is no type of sound barrier between floors, they are poorly made, I've lived in places that cost wayyyy less and you didn't hear that level of noise from upstairs. We avoid being at the noise box whenever possible to have a piece of mind when we're off. Shoddy construction plus inconsiderate neighbors does NOT equal blissful living. Tried using the pool once last summer upon move in but it was dirt. checked back days later, still dirty. the apartment was not move in ready, several things had to be repaired on initial move in, including carpet cleaning. If you have kids DO NOT let them walk in the parking lot alone, it is very dangerous (I have video) my daughter and myself was all out threaten by a driver one night, when reported to office nothing was done. Complaints resulted in nothing so save your emails. Considered paying the buy out but too close to end of my lease. if you are someone who noise doesn't bother this is perfect for you. if you are someone that protects and require peace keep looking read more

3 year lease here, and the first two were wonderful. During the COVID pandemic they were amazing and understanding and incredibly empathetic towards their residents struggle. I just wish corporate would bring back the Starbucks Machine in the lobby / common area like the first year I lived there!!! Wink Wink! read more
