Pennie texted me the following Monday, and we were able to discuss pricing, availability, and ultimately schedule our session. I arrived 10 minutes early to fill out paperwork, then I was able to get situated in my room. Pennie walked me through the steps she'd be taking for the 60 minute session (cleansing, light exfoliation, hydration mask) and thoroughly explained everything. I could immediately tell that I was in good hands. After the mask was applied to my stomach, she gave me hand and foot massages. Once the mask was removed, she finished the session by giving me a back massage. Pennie was extremely personable, thoughtful, and she brought a great energy to the room. When in depth questions were asked, one staff member rolled her eyes when I had concerns over cost discussions. I had concerns about surgery. A person should be able to feel free to have questions answered. When I advised my observations about the Clinic caring more about income than patient care, this did not go over well. When asked if I wanted to complete the surgery, I said I needed to consider. The doctor told me he would not perform it. I made the correct choice not staying with this Clinic. I saw another XV doctor who ensured the surgery would be of benefit by having me wear compression stockings for a month to ensure the surgery would be of benefit. This Clinic said most don't wear as prescribed so we would forgo and move direct to surgery. I wish this Clinic well, but I made the correct choice to seek this type of care elsewhere. I've heard rave reviews about their cosmetic work though.

I finally called these guys to ask if they do threading, and the woman who answered the phone, Jessica, said they didn't -- in fact, the only place that DOES do it is some kiosk in the mall. Igh! Jessica asked why I was looking at threading over waxing, and after explaining my situation to her, she suggested I come in, because they had special wax for those with sensitive skin and they took special precautions to make sure things go smoothly. She was SO nice and SO well informed that I made up my mind to go, and I am SUPER GLAD I did! I went in the following day and the woman that did my eyebrows was chatty and friendly. The place is really clean, and they have little private rooms for everyone that is getting something done. Not only was she chatty and friendly, she answered all of the bajillion questions I had about waxing and what to do after it was done. I won't say that it wasn't painless -- I mean hello, you're getting hair ripped off your face. It's not like a massage with kittens and rainbows here. But it really didn't hurt that badly at all. What I was REALLY concerned with was that I'd watched a former roommate get her eyebrows done, and her skin cracked and peeled and bled and just looked horrible for a few days. I have a convention I'm traveling to in a few days, and I didn't want to look horrible for it. I went home, put some aloe on my face -- it was a little puffy and itchy at first, but by bedtime it had faded away. This morning, I'm left with eyebrows that are much less fuzzy and much more well-defined, and skin that looks just fine. Couldn't be happier, really -- and when I need a touchup, I'll definitely be headed back here.
