After an internet search, Heather at Dolce Vita in Yorktown had positive review after positive review on Yelp. I called and the receptionist actually had me talk directly with Heather. Heather squeezed me in over two days so that I could get everything done before my wedding. That's the kind of person Heather is: she treats you like a friend right off the bat. What was supposed to be a one-time, special service for my wedding has turned into a 5-week ritual! If I lived in NN I would probably go in more frequently for my under-arms. She's that good. Heather is one of the sweetest people you will ever meet, and she is an excellent esthetician. Heather has always been gentle, but now that she has her own shop and has control over the products she uses, there is very little pain for any service--and I do know it when I say any service. Her prices actually got more affordable, and it takes less time to do my full-leg waxes, too! With that type of customer service over the phone, I wouldn't even bother seeing how it would be like dealing with her in person. I even told her I'm from out of town and only going to Williamsburg for vacation. With that attitude I don't know how you would compete against other places. I rarely publish reviews but felt compelled to write one to help out other consumers who are contemplating whether to try this place out or not. I don't think this person should be in business if you don't know how to help customers. What makes certain businesses last longer than others is when they can provide an overall positive experience from start to end. I am 4'11, and wear a size 4 shoe- the small shoes fit me perfectly! They have a few relaxation areas, showers, changing rooms, a whirlpool, and a steam room. There are a few different hot tea flavors if you want tea. There is water available and some snacks (trail mix & crackers). Phone use is discouraged. My massage therapist was Yvette. She was wonderful!! She asked questions and kept me informed during the massage and body scrub, which left me comfortable and relaxed. She also managed to pinpoint all my knots and work them out! After my sessions, I tried the steam room. This is different than a sauna. Compared to other spas in the area that give massages, the price was not too much more expensive. A week later, I went to his office for a follow up and he expressed anger that my drains weren't stripped to his liking . He told me it's important that we do hard things in life and if I wanted to talk about something hard, then we could talk about his medical residency. He told me that fear is negative and added that I needed to get up out of bed each day and look in the mirror and decide I was going to be positive and make positive choices. He said that my daughter and I knew how to properly do the drains, but that we had decided we didn't feel like it because we simply didn't care. He also would not allow me to bring my friend in for support .
