Silvia is a very talented / skilled stylist - and has been doing hair for more than twenty years - but just because she's an original gansta does not mean she doesn't keep up with the latest styles and trends. I only had a relaxer, demi-rinse and trim - but when Davia (her fellow stylist) did my last relaxer - I had the opportunity to see her other work and I was super impressed. She's a little on the quiet side - but that just means she's an excellent listener. I left her chair feeling restored! Both mentally, spiritually and physically - Lol. Nothing like a fresh hairdo to lift the spirits! Hmmm . . . what else . . . what else . . . The phone number on the door is not the correct number. Silvia's number is 912-996-7116. Davia does a good job as well - but she can be a bit hard to reach. She was my Mother's stylist and Mother raved about her and she always kept my Mother's short cut looking awesome. They even have a barber, but I didn't get his name during my last visit. There don't seem to be a lot of salons here in Brunswick that cater to black / African American hair - so I hope my review helps give this wonderful spot a little web presence / bread crumbs for others to find them! I even went as far as requesting a FB connection. I have been at a couple of salons in town and wanted a mature drama free environment to walk into. I assumed Innovative was the opposite. when I followed up the next day on the lack of response, you would think I would get a reply of apology and "let's make an appointment" and a "yes it no cash is accepted." inst I received digs in regards to my "Issues with Brunswick" which I had to remind the stylist of her history with Brunswick as well. As a professional, it is never appropriate to go back and forth negatively with a seeking customer who sees your establishment as one they would feel safe and com going into. Behavior, timely responses, and pricing acceptance are paramount in reputable business establishment. if you are negative and have hidden jealousy and issues with someone who's done NOTHING to you or ya son's dad "that wasn't me that was my former coworker," you probably shouldn't be in business servicing women. Maybe it was God's protection for me, maybe my tips, relationship, promoting and support is not for this one. Who knows, I probably would have had a bad hair experience. I want to keep mine, bald is not for me. I'm a thick girl, what works for you doesn't for me and I won't be convinced otherwise. 0 rating from me on Response Time, Customer service, Professionalism and all around, RESPECT. One of the ladies working in had very short hair much like I was looking to do and I shortly after learned that the gentleman who cut her hair short was going to cut mine. He asked a ton of questions, showed me many pictures of other cuts he had done and really listened to what I wanted. After we were both on the same page he cut off about 11inches, it was a big change but I knew I was in the right hands. They even donated the hair for me!!!! I will never go anywhere else for cuts, I haven't had any color done but I know I'll be back for that soon!!! Pic of my gel manicure less than 2 weeks later - peeling/lifting really significantly, and you can see scratches on my nails from buffing through the polish. The tech told my mom they couldn't do french with regular polish which we both thought was weird, and they skipped showing/asking her the pedicure packages. My mom's regular polish (pictured, orange) is holding up pretty nicely though. The prices/services are on a small card on a side table not near the desk that I had to find after they took my mom back and text her pictures of- it would be nice if this was easily visible or kept at reception. Last, I'm from NYC and the prices are the same as my spots in the city!
