They carry so many brands and up to date styles and everything is nicely organized. The space itself is airy and spacious. They have a really comprehensive selection from warm ups, to activewear, to shoes, and accessories. There are lots of change rooms and everything is super clean. The staff when I went were friendly and knowledgable about their products. If you can't make it down to the shop, they have a really well organized online store as well. However, I would suggest checking the size charts of each individual brand carefully as I find a lot of variation between different brands' sizing. Tights are final sale but you can return/exchange unworn leotards within 60 days.

You don't have to make an appointment, which is nice. I ended up with a pair of Bloch Amelie and I am so happy with them compared to my first pair. They were the first shoe the fitter chose. She allowed me to try on numerous other pairs and was very helpful while I talked it out. They really are so much better than my first pair where I was sinking and unable to really "get over the box". Now I can easily get over the box and they look stunning! Also, if you are not into sewing your ribbons and elastics they offer the service for a reasonable price.

If they don't have the shoes you want, they can do special orders as well. They keep a record of your purchases in the computer so you can keep track of which styles you liked or didn't like and what size you are in different brands. Danceshoppe also carries anything else you need for dance class - soft shoes (ballet/jazz/ballroom), beautiful Mirella leotards, warm-ups, accessories, dance bags, and DVDs/CDs/books/magazines. A bit out of the way (Sheppard, west of Yonge) but worth it.

Was walking home and the storefront caught my eye. They were closing up shop soon so everything…read morethat they generally display outside was packed in the front of the store. Made things a bit cramped, but manageable. They have lots of costume jewelry and attire (tons of fancy dresses), and also regular jewelry. From what I gathered, most things they buy are from auctions (ie second hand), but in great condition. I got myself a simple silver bracelet for $16, and they cleaned it for me. Saw a trumpet lying outside, and the owner was nice enough to show me a beautiful vintage tenor sax (about $1200) from the back. Unfortunately they had just sold an alto sax for about $150 not long ago! He also said they sold a steel drum recently, which shows how much variety they have. Apparently they get new things in every day - definitely fun to just browse and pick up something nice! At first I felt like the owners (I believe it's a family - father, mother, daughter) were a bit...what's that word...well the vibe I got from them at first just didn't feel right, but I talked to them a bit about what I'm looking for and they were super nice about everything, even joked around a bit. I popped in once after 6 months of not seeing them and Dominic had put a crinoline aside for me that came in. Put aside for me for 6 months? That's true customer dedication!
