The problem with this shoe repair place is that you can't get a simple shoe repair. I needed a heel tip -- the little replaceable plastic/rubber piece on the very bottom of a high heel that wears down or snaps off and is easily replaced. They said it would take them THREE MONTHS to do this. I drove 30 minutes to get there, left with my broken shoe. Don't bother!! read more

I fixed my sandals (chewed apart by my new puppy Rocco) twice and re-glued the sole that started to be un done on my Johnson & Murphy dress shoes and I still have almost a full tube of Shoe Goo ready to seal our rubber boots during the upcoming cold and rainy seasons. I went in to the shoe guy to get a brass fitting on my Birkenstock clogs fixed, the guy was pretty grumpy and stand off ish but I didn't pay too much attention to it, the price was fair and my shoes were done in good time. Not even a week after i picked them up the shoes broke in the same place again. So I went back to the store, explained the situation, and immediately the man who was helping me got grumpy and was not happy to help me. He told me there were a few different fittings he could put on the shoe so I asked to see them against the shoe (soon as they were black and silver against the tan shoe) I thought this was a reasonable request cause I would like to see if it would stand out or not, yet again did he got angry and short with me. He brought my fixed shoe back out, threw it across the counter, and didn't say a word. I was shocked by this very unprofessional behavior for a business that had so many good reviews. I thought I'd give it another go but after not one, but two bad experiences, I will definitely not be going back to the shoe guy. If you feel like being greeted by a grumpy old shoe repair guy, then this is the place for you. P.S. I walked in here a couple of weeks ago, hoping to get a pistol holster modified; not a big job. I did not get the proprietor's name but he could not have been more accommodating or helpful. He dropped what he was doing and went to work to solve the problem, all the while with courtesy, professionalism and a sense of humor. After spending at least fifteen minutes on the little project, which was completed to my satisfaction (maybe more time), he charged me five bucks! Five Bucks!!! He went on to say that if the problem was not solved that I could bring it back and he'd work on it some more. Now I ask you, "What more could you possibly want as a customer, eh?" While he was working on this, other customers were in and out, picking-up their shoes, which had been repaired ... I'd say, hmmmm, maybe three or four other customers. I could not help but overhear the conversations as these customers paid for the shoe repairs. I heard nothing but favorable comments from these customers; not one complaint. BTW, they have lots of other shoe care products, cleaners, polishes, leather softeners ... shoe laces (of course, but a HUGE selection).
