The ship has recently changed hands and was completely overhauled by the new management. They have a good size car park, outside seating, and two distinct areas inside. At the front of the pub is the bar / lounge area with plenty of seating including coffee tables with comfy sofas, tables with hard chairs - a general mix of seating type. At the back is the restaurant area which is more standard seating. They do serve food here, and although I've not tried it myself, I am told it is very good. The bar serve a wide range of lagers, beers, spirits and mixers (I believe this is a CAMRA pub as they have the newsletter on the bar). The staff are well presented and friendly without being overly chummy. The toilets are clean and well maintained.
It's a really nice pub actually, and the only reasons they didn't get 5 out of 5 is because there isn't a pool table, and the beer is slightly above average price for the area. read more
