I always try to visit yarn stores, when I am travelling, and this one has a lovely community feel, where you are welcome to bring your project and hang out and chat with fellow knitters and crocheted. On entering my eyes were drawn to a beautiful wrap, crocheted by the lovely resident teacher Zanna. It was stunning, and, she revealed, really quite simple to make. The yarn selection isn't tremendous, but you're sure to find some unusual ones, and I was pleased to pick up some sock yarn that was hand-dyed in Memphis, as well as Berroco's interestingly textured Summer Sesame, and another exquisitely colored sock weight yarn. Store hours are currently limited, but, it's well worth a visit, if you are there during Friday and Saturday opening hours.

She met with us, gave us estimates of yardage needed and a firm quote on the labor as well as pick up and delivery. We chose our fabric and purchased it and has it ready when the pickup day arrived. No surprises about cost and the quality of the work is superb. Now the heirloom sofa and chair from my late "favorite" aunt has a fabric that my wife doesn't hate. In fact, she loves it. We both do. Now, the furniture is a fond memory of ours, as well as part of my history. These projects take forever whatever you do. In a Covid influenced world, everyone's schedule gets out of control. However, not many over sold vendors would hold a reasonable price AND maintain high quality. If those things are important to you, rely on Mary's. It's worth the wait, and waiting is a given whom ever you choose.

I was excited to see a retail store. The shirts always have unique, happy designs. I started buying them for myself (cross, and heart appliques) and love what they offer for children. Since I'm a boy mom it's hard to find cute, little boy clothes without being to "sissy." These t's are perfect. If you're within a mile or so of the store it might be worth visiting, but I wouldn't recommend driving farther than that. When I'm traveling, I like to visit quilt shops in different cities, and don't mind driving a bit out of my way when the shop is a good one. However, today I was on my way to Alabama and drove over 15 miles, one way, out of my way to visit this store and it was a complete waste of time and gas.
