I've often compared prices of this store to major furniture stores such as overstock.com, and Frugal Home Finds still beats overstock's prices. This is a family owned store and the people here are very friendly and helpful if you have any questions. To discredit the negative comment, Frugal Home Finds has been developing more and more hours recently. They have actually stayed open a little later for me since I didn't get off work in time to pick up some furniture. The shop owner, Selena McAdams, is an interior designer, and all of the items inside Spruce have clearly been selected with great care and attention. I hesitate to call Spruce an interior design store, because it's much more than that. On my visit, I was totally taken with their selection of adorable and unconventional stuffed animals. I picked up a sea foam green latticework pendant necklace. It reminds me a bit of a lawn chair. So, a big thank you to the person who suggested that I check out Spruce. I am so pleased! Not only did I find a special handmade horn bracelet supporting single mothers in Uganda, I also bought a lovely one of a kind painting to give as a hostess gift to a dear friend. The store is chock full of traditional gift shop favorites, such as pewter by Mariposa, YETI, dopp kits for men, and side-splitting witty guest towels for every personality. They also carry many handmade speciality pieces, monogrammable gifts, and local artwork for any budget. When I walked in, a lovely hostess greeted me from atop a ladder, as she hung a new modern chandelier for sale, confident in that green wire. It is surprising to look around my house and realize how many things were purchased at this outlet, and almost all of them on a super-closeout ultra special deal. Some might say I'm cheap, and I'd agree, but I also love nice things. Many, many years ago I saw the apothecary table from PB on an episode of "Friends," and thought it interesting and little more. Then imagine my surprise probably 10 years ago (quite awhile ago at least, don't quote me on timing) when hubby and I visited and saw a slew of apothecary tables on super sale for $49-$79... don't remember precisely, but seriously only two digits in the price. We've bought lamps, pillows, home accents, window treatments, light fixtures, vanity mirrors, lots of stuff over the years. This past weekend we visited and the deal I couldn't pass up was from the PB Kids collection, adorable retro shaped lunch boxes for some young ones on our Christmas list for $7. Seriously, so cute. I also grabbed a great looking travel cosmetic bag set for an older cousin who is in college, and we bought a couple of great nostalgic metal Christmas ornaments. You can tell from the moment you enter that their attention to detail is even more on display in this shop. Once you get past that you are seemingly in an industrial park in odd location and enter inside, the creative, serene space comes alive! A shipping container serves as an impromptu dining room which is so intriguing and appealing! There are beautiful, uniquely curated chandeliers and lamps everywhere. Gorgeous sofas and enveloping chairs in calm & dreamy palettes. Beautiful bed lines in luxurious fabrics. Hearty dining room tables and rustic chairs to accompany them. Memphis is sorely lacking in quality home furniture. The Back Room certainly fills an underserved niche. The people working there seem glad to be there and are happy to help coordinate a look that works.
