I had no idea what this place was. I just saw a cute pup on NextDayPets.com that fell in our price…read morerange. It wasn't until I went to the pet store that I started to worry. The trainer asked where I got him & said, "oh, Lancaster county" which raised my suspicion. I knew I shouldn't have looked but I searched for the last name online & found this Yelp page. I started putting it all together & I just got angry. Upon the vet visit 4 days after getting Sammy, he has a severe yeast infection in his ears and has tested positive for Giardia for a total of $400 in vet bills AND has to go back to be tested in a month for another $80. Do not support this place. Stay as far away as possible. I'll be happy when this headache of health issues is over and (hopefully) this place is shut down. UPDATE: Sam still has Giardia, even after 2 rounds of treatment. He's experienced constant eye ulcers which require a visit almost every month. Luckily for us though, everything else seems fine. No heart issues (yet), no other eye problems or genetic issues.

You can't view the dogs on your own. They are kept in back and you need to fill out an application to view and then they will bring the dog outside for you to meet. 2. Short staffed. They need to hire more people since it can be a long wait to see an animal. 3. They do not accept out of state applications (even if you are there to visit and not adopt that day). 4. Their hours can change with minimal notice. You need to check their Facebook page for recent announcements and if they will be opening late.

We have grown over the years from 4 kennels in a garage, to our new kennels with 14 kennels and our cat cabin for those in need. This could never have happened if not the support of local business, the general public and our volunteers. We are an all volunteer, non-profit assisting in the care of unwanted and abandoned pets from Juniata and Perry counties find their new forever loving homes or reuniting them with their owners. Over the last 15 years we have helped approx.. 2000 pets get back home or find new homes. Those that stay here before finding their new home are completely vetted, spayed/neutered and micro-chipped. Our vet bill last year alone was approx. $40,000.00. The fur kids are fed well do to charitable food donations by various sorts and local businesses. They could not get this care without you. We do our best to give back to the community by taking in these animals, educating the public on proper pet care, prompting proper licensing etc. We hope to continue with this and continue to grow in years to come. Can't say enough good things about the folks at Furever Home in East Petersburg. They provide a…read moregood environment and the cats here are welcome to live out their lives if nobody adopts them. When I adopted a Pet Pantry cat who was living at Furever Home, I almost felt bad about taking him out of there. Food bowls, litter boxes, cat trees and toys everywhere! Zero rocking chairs! This is kitty Valhalla, at least at shelters go. I told them I couldn't compete with that many trees and toys. But what these cats need most is a home. And that part is working out well, at least in my case. This older male cat had no reason to bond with me but nevertheless, here he is as I write this, hopping into my lap and waiting for me to go to bed so he can curl up next to me.
