I really can't say enough of how delicious the scones are at this shop inside St. Jacob's Market. I tried the savoury cheese and chive scone, blueberry, raspberry white chocolate, pumpkin, and cinnamon scone - all were so fresh and full of flavour. None of them were overly sweet, which I loved. Even better how they were $1 each since I came close to closing time on a Saturday afternoon. Yes, they're a bit on the smaller side but for $1 each, I really couldn't complain after tasting each one! I also tried the lavender and honey macaron, which was unbelievably delicious! I love trying unique macaron flavours at different macaron shops and this was definitely one of the best flavours I've ever had! The crisp macaron shell combined with the melt in your mouth strong lavender honey filling was heavenly! Support this cute bakery - they deserve so much more recognition for the quality of baked goods that they make! I'm looking forward to my next visit and can't wait to try their other scones and macaron flavours!

I found the yummiest macarons ever at a stall in the St. Jacobs Farmers Market today (Thurs Oct…read more2nd). Apparently it was their first day vending at the market. I'm sure they will be a huge success. These macarons are incredibly delicious. The shells are light as air, moist and delicate, with good feet. The fillings are so bright and flavourful. There were four flavours when I purchased my dozen today. Strawberry, lemon, vanilla, and pistachio. I purchased three of each type and I've so far tried the pistachio and strawberry. Both are exceptionally good. The strawberry has a dollop of strawberry jam in the centre of the buttercream which really punches up that fresh strawberry flavour. I have now tried the lemon and the vanilla. The lemon was divine. Sweetly tart with a bit of lemon curd in the middle of the buttercream. Yummers. I wasn't expecting to like the vanilla as much as I did. I mean, it's vanilla, right? How good could it be? The answer, my friend, is unbelievably good. This is pure vanilla at its florally best. Yeah, that's right, I said it. Florally. There are specks of vanilla bean throughout the cookie and that gourmand floral note really shines through. This vendor will do exceptionally well. I guarantee it. These macarons can go up against some of the best in Toronto and come out on top. I'm totally a fan now. I hope the pastry chef starts expanding his flavour selection, but I know I'm just being greedy. If he's talking suggestions, I would request salted caramel, rose, and lavender. I would love to taste his take on a salted caramel. Mmm.

So far the best macarons I've had are at a French patisserie in Buffalo. These are good, but so…read moreclose to being great. My understanding is that the hardest part of making a macaron is the cookie shell, and these are wonderful. The texture and flavor is just right. The lavender did not make me think of soap initially. The violet absolutely did. That's not a strike against them. Those notes are just so popular in soap, it's an automatic association. The same is true of rose, but it's so often used in drinks and foods that it's not as jarring. The problem I had with these macarons is the filling, and it's probably such an easy fix. It's just too sweet and somehow when combined with the floral flavors, I could swear I had the actual mouth feel of soap by the time I'd eaten all three, like a faint burning on my tongue. I'd definitely recommend the rose lychee, and maybe doing a mix of flavors instead of all floral or having just one at a time. Macarons are 50 cents than the other patisserie I tried (Nadege) during my trip, but still competitively priced.

The place was full of delicious-looking desserts, but I stuck by my cookie craving and wound up grabbing a Florentine. It's fantastic. It had a deep, super rich caramel flavor I found irresistible, while the chocolate coating on half of the cookie was equally satisfying. I also bought some Mini Xmas Cookies to try later and they were equally top-notch. French Corner is the real deal. I'll definitely be returning.

In the box was: White Chocolate Peach Mousse Fruit Tart Coconut Exotic Fruit Pistachio Mousse Raspberry Mousse Log Cake Aesthetically, all the pastries looked amazing! I felt bad cutting them to take a bite! My favourite is the Coconut Exotic Fruit. All the layers tied nicely together and tasted really good! The fruit tart was also good. Im not the biggest fan of peach but it was not bad as well. The Raspberry Mousse Cake was well balanced and not too sweet or tart. Sadly to say the Pistachio Mousse that was shaped as a cute Christmas tree was my least favourite. As this was a gift, I did not visit the location in person or know the price, but I do want to eat other selection of pastries and cakes if I get the chance!

Every time I come here I find that the average demographic leans a bit older so I'd like to share with younger people especially if you like to cook with hard to find ingredients. This place is especially great if you love making Italian dishes and baked goods like me and don't want to drive all the way out towards Mississauga and spend more than anticipated at other specialty stores, or even somewhere like Fortino's where you get charged an arm and a leg for certain produce and meat. Everything here is so fresh, and I love that they sell their prepared handmade pasta at the hot table for CHEAP. I got one serving of their handmade tortellini in alfredo sauce for just $6.99 and I was able to make two meals out of it without any extra sides or drinks. I haven't tried anything else because they had already closed most of the hot table when I got the tortellini but what was still out looked really good. Their desserts are pretty good too, I prefer their cookies over their cakes as I feel I've had better elsewhere, but nonetheless have a great selection with good pricing as well. Highly recommend stopping by if you're in the area, I feel like even if you came in without the intention of buying something, you'll still manage to make a purchase of some sort lol.

Unfortunately 3 weeks before his party he had a really bad fall and had to be airlifted to the hospital. I called the bakery almost 12 days in advance - more than enough time before they even began prepping anything for this small party - and they refused. Well actually, the employee on the phone was extremely unhelpful to begin with and when I requested I talk to the manager they left me waiting for almost 20 minutes on hold. When I did speak with the manager, I explained the situation I believed she understood and offered me a refund. I was clear we were going to rebook the party for the summer time and I'd be sure to call on them again for the order. In the end, I never got the refund. I've emailed the bakery numerous times with no response. I was even warned it was pointless to email customer service as I would not get a response. What honest business does that? So we are going ahead with the party and I highly recommend you go with the professionals at Pusateri's or Eataly. It's been a much better more positive and honest experience from the get go.
