It's got some really lovely bits and pieces - Glasgow road signs, vintage map wall art, luggage cases, Shetland wool blankets, chandeliers, furniture as well as wee decorative pieces. One of my favourite finds was a glass pineapple that has a silver coating and now sits on my lounge room table. I didn't realise but they also have a shop through in Edinburgh and an online store. With fantastic customer service and great, unusual pieces, I'll definitely be popping in more often.

Anyway, needed a mother's day gift and I'm glad I went in. I was focussing on the unique candle scents, rhubarb and ginger or fig to name but a few, for the gift. These were so delicious I came away with one for mum and one for me. Other things that caught my eye were the range of blankets/throws and room diffusers. Staff here are extremely helpful and friendly (none of the pouncing/smothering approach some people go for) and a pleasure to do business with. If you need something lovely...time and tide. (Even if you are clumsy!)

It's like an Aladins Cave, with crazy cushions, stately chaise's, and obscure objet d'art. Not to mention the lamps. They do sinceriously awesome lamps - from multi-bulbed (of different sizes!), glass dome encasements, to the brightly coloured giant miners lamps. If you're not careful, you'll miss that they have a downstairs too. We did, and the staff ( who were in no way pushing sales), pointed it out. Third is whet they have some great pictures, in a variety of styles - but I really liked a big pop art one. If I had loads of money, I could easily spend a fortune here! The stock for somewhere like this must rotate quite regularly, so I look forward to checking it out again in a few months time.

After visiting Decorium today I was pleasently surpirzed by the place. It has an array of beautiful lights, mirrors tables and soft furnishings all with a north African feel to them. The owner of the shop says they get deliveries from the African continent around once a month and was kind enough to advise on the perfect mirror for our family home. I also noticed a lovely wooden table and 4 chair set for a very reasonable 270 pounds. I wil definitely visit this place when furnishing my first flat!

They are aware of this practice, so their no refund policy is basically ripping off the customer. After all, who wants a credit note for more paper, after finishing the job? I specifically asked if I could return extra rolls at the time of sale, only to be refused and given a useless credit note. Take your business to an honest retailer.

Which I appreciate isn't the fault of the staff but I'm a firm believer it costs nothing to have manners and it may have left me a bit disgruntled when I got round to reviewing the place. Even if that hadn't happened, I don't think Libby Libby would have made a lasting impression on me, anyway. As far as decorating shops go it's alright, and the wallpaper designs draped down in the window display are all very eye-catching, but I didn't bank on it being that expensive. It's not grossly overpriced by any means, but considering you're greeted with very reasonable bargain bins the minute you step foot through the door it's pretty disappointing when you find there's not much more value at the back of the shop. The selection is good if a bit garish. I mean, if Libby Libby's wallpaper could speak it would all be shouting "Pick me, Simon" and vying for the customer's attention, but their selection would be great for feature walls. They've got some really up to date stuff and their kid's collection is fantastic. I was just a bit deflated by the price. I know wallpaper isn't cheap these days but I thought £10-15 pounds a roll was a bit steep. Saying that, it looks like it's durable and of a higher quality so you'll get what you pay for, They've got a nice selection of paint, some lighting bargains and are up to scratch on current trends but it was just the price that got to me. Is wallpaper really that expensive these days? It's been a while since I decorated my cave so maybe I should get out of it and give Libby Libby some business - I did really like the floral prints they had on offer. I just don't have hundreds of pounds to spare. I would say this, though - cool points awarded for wallpaper embellished with medieval knights! My next feature wall would kick serious ass with that, and I'm not even joking.

We needed to sort out a time for them to come by and drop the tiles off, so I stopped off whilst in town. What a tiny wee tile shop! The staff were very friendly, and even knew what I was talking about when I basically garbled a spiel about our landlord and tiles. I even got a sneak peak at the tiles - not exactly my first choice in tiles, however, I was only going to be in the flat for another 2 months... (Yellow - like egg yolk yellow - tiles for a white/brown kitchen? Er... no thanks). We sorted out a delivery date and the tiles arrived. Perfect - well it would have been if they hadn't been THAT 'lovely' yellow....

It is rather expensive, and aims at an affluent market- Tedesco's, out in Springburn is better for bog-standard tiles- but these are far more elegant and stylish.

I popped in for a little look around and was very pleasantly surprised. Dwell sells all sorts of home wear from big furniture items like sofas and beds to more decorative items like candles, cushions and art. Everything is very neutral and classic in style and is of excellent quality. Some items in here would make a fantastic base for decorating your home to which you could add little quirky bits and pieces to put your own stamp on the place. I think the prices are actually pretty reasonable in a "you get what you pay for kind of way". Unfortunately I can't afford any of the larger items, but if I could I would definitely invest in a few! I fully intend to go back and purchase a few of the smaller (and cheaper!) items such as a lovely lamp I saw.

Anyway, I was on the hunt for a particular 'Glasgow Patter' tea towel and was guided here by my online personal shopper Briony (that's Yelp for you!). Sadly, they only had a Scots patter one, not the Weegie version, so my search continued. But it looks like a nice wee store if you're looking for a gift or greetings cards. It's easy to walk past though as it is in a basement. (Didn't this used to be 23rd Precinct?)

I was in for stocking fillers for the girls and did not leave disappointed. Smudge is going to be utterly delighted with her scarf wearing panda necklace and Santa was pleasantly surprised at the less than terrifying price tag. With the additional 10% check in discount I felt positively virtuous and absolved of all the sinning I had just been committing in Waterstones. Where my restrained buying for other people plans had failed spectacularly. By the time I had reached the till I had already decided this was going to be a five star review but then the wonderful staff at the till tried to help me lug the buggy up the stairs. I say tried because I may have been using the handy basket at the bottom of the buggy to hide all the books bought in Waterstones, meaning that the buggy weighed more than a family hatchback and actually couldn't be lifted even by two people and Puff just had to suck up bumped up the stairs. A great wee shop that I'll probably be back in again before Christmas. If only because I need some of the amazing Christmas cards with huge Rudolph noses and really my tree isn't going to be finished until I have a rocket decoration hanging from it. The several girls who work there are quite charming and good for a chat. Will be back again!
