If you're in need of a reset, Hotel AKA is waiting for you! It's immaculately clean and smells refreshing. Check-in was easy and that boxed water was a nice perk. The room was clean and spacious. The shower?? How long can I stay in there before I turn into a prune? The bed put me in a coma. Oh! You don't want to go out? No problem... hang out in the first come, first serve cinema. Connect your phone and watch your favorite movies or shows. Beyond that, the lounge+bar+restaurant gives you more reason to linger. Want solo time? Grab your book and hit the patio. Need a workout? Sign up for their in-house pilates class. Polished | Peaceful | Packed

I have a LOT of 2025 places to review! BUT, it's 2026, out with the OLD and in with the new. After a week of being sick in the house, this sick girl took her talents outside and ventured to Old Town. I wanted to try a "new" restaurant and none were near my Happy Hour location. Hmmmp. I was going to head into the city to knock off a bookmark but saw this cool hotel and decided to stop. Glad I did! Only 18 around the world, my type of place to hide! Reminds me of SoHo House! Super dope decor! Very trendy. Eclectic and beautiful design throughout the hotel. Lana! Thanks for being so hospitable. Drinks were great! Cool people at the bar! Let's get into it! Crab cake - Fair - this crab cake was good but had a lot of filler. Edible and still good. Prime Strip Steak - Fair not the most tender steak but good. Fries were fantastic. (My big back loved them.) Overall, I'd come again! Very chill spot to come enjoy without the hustle and bustle of the city vibes. Perfect place to just check in and staycation, even for the night. Good food and drinks, because that is what life is about! Cheers!

My book club rented out the cinema room and we had the best time! The staff was wonderful and very accommodating. We were able to order food and drinks at the hotel bar and enjoy them while we watched the film. The space is absolutely gorgeous! Parking was also super easy outside on the street , and they also offer valet. I would love to go back for a staycation!

The staff is amazing. Every single person was professional and warm! I loved my little amenity/thank you of healthy snacks and bottled water. I was there for a meeting. The meeting space is a bit like a blank slate...big gray blank slate but that means you can add decor for a special event. Our event didn't need that so it felt pretty nondescript just in those spaces. The rest of the hotel has plenty of arty personality. It's not a cozy atmosphere, more cool and impressive. We held a small reception in the lobby and it was perfect for hobbles and a bar cart! The hotel rooms are very spacious with steamer, espresso maker, upscale snack bar (for purchase). The best and most interesting elect was the bathroom sink/counter which was the entire length of the wall!

What a beautiful hotel! Was able to stop by for a friends birthday celebration and was astounded by the beauty of the hotel. Entering the hotel, you're immersed in a dark and moody space that was also inviting. I grabbed a drink from the bar and they had a lovely selection of drinks and food. The service was quick and friendly. The event space was amazing. The space was large with lots of seating and a tv that you're able to use. It opened up to a beautiful outdoor space with beautiful plant life and more seating. While I didn't have a room there, It felt super welcoming and the staff were very approachable and friendly. I will definitely try to find a purpose to stay there in the future.

My husband and I are local and we came for breakfast at the cafe and we're so glad we did! I almost didn't review this spot because we want to keep it to ourselves :) The space is beautifully decorated, good AC, lots of outlets, and quiet! It's the perfect place to have breakfast, telework, or read. My partner and I each brought a book and it was awesome. The food is fantastic! Try the blueberry muffin on the griddle; you won't regret it. We also had the French omelette and the Sando. Both were delicious! Service was great and attentive as well. We will definitely be back!

I had an okay stay here at AKA. The space was beautiful and the artwork was so fun. We had drinks here and had a lot of fun chatting with the other patrons and bartender. He made my Moscow mules really good! We also had breakfast here in the morning. I had the smoked salmon avocado toast. It came with a large salad. Id usually be excited for a salad but it had a lot of radicchio in it and was dressed with balsamic. Those two flavors were a bit overwhelming for a breakfast. I'd rather have a lighter vinaigrette for a morning side salad and more greens. The hotel room was beautiful. They offer nespresso coffee in the room which was very nice. It was hard getting replacements and creamers from housekeeping though. When they came around and replaced the coffee, they gave us all decaf. lol. The shower was beautiful as well. A nice shower head and an open shower situation. I wanted to stay in there forever. Overall we had a nice stay here. I'd come here again.

Visited the A.Lounge and Bar during Old Town Books Silent Book Club. Tried the Merry Little Meet Cute, which was their version of a daiquiri. My friend and I weren't a fan. However, I ordered an espresso martini later and it was delicious. The service was great. The bartender even took her shaker in the hall, so as not to disturb the group. Would definitely come back to try their other food and drink options.

This was our second time staying at this hotel, but it felt like the first time all over again in the best way. The first visit was just me and my fiancé. This time, we brought our one-year-old son along for the ride. And honestly, it couldn't have been a smoother or more pleasant experience. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with the kind of warmth you hope for but rarely get at most hotels. The front desk staff were kind, open, and super helpful. I have to shout out Isaiah in particular this man went above and beyond. I had a few questions since I'm a photographer and planned to take some shots during the stay. Not only did he patiently answer every question I had, but he also gave me guidance on what I could and couldn't do around the property. His energy was welcoming and professional from start to finish. Now let's talk about the breakfast. I had the sausage, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich and I mean this with no exaggeration it was one of the best breakfast sandwiches I've had at a hotel. Hot, flavorful, and made with care. I'd honestly come back just to grab that sandwich. The vibe of the hotel is just right. It's clean, has a modern aesthetic, and gives off a peaceful, relaxing atmosphere. The bed was super comfortable, and the bathroom was spotless and well-designed I actually didn't want to leave the shower. Whether you're visiting Alexandria for work, a quick getaway, or traveling with your little one like we were, I'd absolutely recommend this spot. Solid 4.5 out of 5. We'll definitely be back.

The contemporary couture was incredible. The valet, guest check in with Aaliyah, room and location was Topnotch. No pool was No problem. We scheduled a full day visit to Balian Spa about 15 minutes away.

Disclaimer: I have never stayed at the hotel. BUT I have come in to enjoy their Bar, I've come here several times with a friend and the drinks are wonderful, the staff is so kind and knowledgeable! Everyone from the lobby staff to the bar staff is very welcoming. I think it's a great space to come and enjoy and work from. This space has great ambience; Hotel AKA has really done a great job furnishing this place. I will say that I did try to come once and they had an event at the bar, so it was closed to the public since the space was rented which sucked. But the bar manager was kind about it.

We found this hotel on social media. Apparently, it is popular among content creators, so we had to find out what all of the hoopla was about and get some content. We arrived on a Saturday afternoon, it was not very busy. The valet greeted us to park the car. Apparently, valet parking is the only option. We checked in very efficiently. We had a lot to carry for an overnight stay, so we needed a trolley. There were none in the foyer, so I walked inside of the hotel to look for one. When I finally found it, the attendant insisted on helping with the bags. He unloaded the car and trunk and took everything upstairs. While on the elevator, the attendant/bellman informed us that the hotel was formerly a Holiday Inn. He provided a little more historic information as well, which was interesting. When we got to the room, he unloaded the trolley and left. The room was really nice. It had some pleasing aesthetics as well. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was cute. The bathroom had under cabinet ambient lighting that I did not discover until we were leaving. As do most, this hotel room had a beverage station with some good features. The only downside was that I thought about using the white bathrobe in the closet because I was cold, but I discovered a yellow stain on it, which was really gross. I am not even sure why I considered wearing something that numerous people have worn. Before checking in, we grabbed some takeout in Old Town Alexandria, so we ate and immediately started content creation. The hotel is known for its aesthetically pleasing ambiance and amenities. The hotel has so many attractive areas throughout that we captured a month's worth of content in less than one day. In addition to visually appealing common areas, there is also a bar and lounge, as well as small cafe inside of the hotel. The first level had the majority of the amenities; however, in pursuit of other locations, we found a courtyard upstairs along with a well-equipped gym. In addition to the upstairs gym, there was also a theater room on the first floor. We never had a chance to visit the theater room because it was occupied at all times by other guests. The foyer and front desk areas were kind of dark in comparison to the amenity/lobby side of the hotel. The hallways were also kind of dark. I understand that this was part of the aesthetic, but it seemed a little drab in those areas. However, overall, it was a nice hotel and it was very clean. Though we did not have an opportunity to visit the bar/lounge, the set up was really pretty. The large puffy cloud-like decor over the bar gave the space really good appeal. The open walls added a nice touch as well, but it made the adjacent hallway a little noisy. As for the cafe, it was okay, but very clean and nicely stocked. I ordered some Cafe au laits and lemon poppy seed muffins. They did not have many vegan breakfast options. The coffee was free for guests, which was a nice touch. The checkout process was simple and the car was brought around very quickly. The attendant helped load the car. I would return again, but this time to relax and really enjoy the atmosphere or maybe enjoy a stroll around Old Town Alexandria.

Great location and walking distance to Old Town Alexandria Customer Service Joshwa was great and super helpful. He provided exceptional customer service before our stay and during. He also provided a couple of recommendations of places to eat that we did try. Thanks so much!!! We also received a beautiful card and complimentary anniversary gift from him as well, thank you. The Bellman The gentleman's name escaped me but he gave us info about places to park and informed us to adhere to the signs since VA loves to tow. He was pleasant, held the door open for us, and was the first person we encountered before entering the hotel. When we left, Mr. Andrew carried our bags for us and was great!!!! I DID NOT like that the hotel charged my card a $200 security deposit without my consent. I reserved this hotel on Booking.Com with the "Pay at the Hotel" option. It would have been nice to have received a heads-up that this charge was coming prior. Food The hotel does have a cafe that is only open from 5:00 pm until 11 pm I believe. We did not get an opportunity to order. **Tip** It would have been nice for brunch to be offered in the morning. Ambiance The aesthetics of the hotel were great, super modern, and CLEAN. The lights were turned down low so it was dark. The Room The room was VERY CLEAN, the bed was comfortable and the pillows were fluffy. Did I mention CLEAN Parking Valet is available for $18 Daily and $40 Overnight Parking is available across the street and on the sides for 2hrs from Mon-Saturday 8am-5pm. It's VA/DC so parking is always limited and horrible.

Embassy Suites by Hilton Alexandria Old Town - April 2026…read more In planning for a 2026 visit from my sister, we focused on how best to experience the Cherry Blossom Festival in the Tidal Basin and the Jefferson Memorial in Washington, D.C. She would be arriving on Amtrak from Wilmington, and my apartment is in Old Town Alexandria, so we looked for hotels adjacent to Metro's King Street station (which serves Amtrak, the VRE, and the Yellow and Blue rail lines, in addition to several bus lines. There are several excellent hotel choices at King Street station, but one that stands out is the Embassy Suites, right across the street from the Amtrak/Metro rail station. The hotel is family-friendly, spacious, clean, and safe. There's a wonderful made-from-scratch breakfast for all guests, along with a 90-minute happy hour featuring complimentary drinks (2 per person) in the early evening. My sister's room was ready when we arrived at around 3 p.m., and as we checked her in we found the room's TV welcomed us by name. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom was equipped with sustainable dispensers for the shower (no single-use plastics in the room). The room was quiet and remained that way throughout the two nights my sister stayed there. During our stay the presence of families with young children was evident - kids were clearly enjoying themselves and were exploring features of the hotel geared especially for young children. We found hotel staff members helpful, not intrusive, and alert to the needs of the hotel's guests. On the same street half a block away there's Theismann's Restaurant & Bar, which offers a full bar and a well-crafted menu of moderate- to high-priced American dishes. I've recommended nearby hotels in the past, and those recommendations remain. I can now add the Embassy Suites to the list. It offers ready access to the entire District-Maryland-Virginia region served by Metro and related regional public transit services, and is a great point of embarkation when exploring Northern Virginia and D.C.

June 2026 stay…read more Stayed here years ago. This time around was just okay. Needed a local getaway, so my Sister & Brother stayed the weekend and hung out with me 1. Parking was $40 a day in the garage next door. Supposed to be in & out priviledges. I COULD NOT use my room key card to get out of the garage! 3x I tried to exit and each time, I had to contact SUPPORT to lift the gate up. Went to the front desk after the 1st time, and they gave us 3 new room cards. the Same issues persisted time after time! Sunday when we tried to leave for massage appointments, since we couldn't get out of the garage, my appointment was canceled because I was 5 mins late, altho we left 30 mins early, for an appointment that was 10 minutes away.... fawwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwk. EB did reach out and offered to credit the entire parking. 2. Breakfast was fine, except they didn't open the little dining room outside of the breakfast line, or it closed super early in the morning. Tables were packed. The first morning, we just brought our plates up to the room as there were no tables to eat at 3. Evening reception: 2 free drinks per night. The "snack" bar was pretty empty every time. Consisted of M&Ms that kids and much older adults would just put their hands in. Brocolli, carrot and celery snacks each night with hummus and vegetarian dressing. Bagged chips and mints. This was less than desired. A super long line for drinks tho, 1 bartener each night who were both very nice & patient 4. Room #743 was facing the back/side of the hotel. There was a bright light on the building infront of us that stayed on overnight, good thing for the black out curtains 5. Never saw the housekeeper. Sunday, we left at 145pm with no service, but thankfully when we returned @530p everything was cleaned. 6. There are No pens or pad in the room. I went downstairs and asked for a pen/paper and was told to bring the pen back downstairs lol 7. My brother went outside and tried to come back in @1030a on the morning we were to checkout. His card didn't work! He couldn't get back into the building, my sister had to go down and let him in. Unacceptable! I texted the Courtesy # to let them know of the issue, and that person also confirmed that checkout is at 11am. 8. When you scan the QR code at the lobby for pool information, it says it is open from 9a-930a on sundays and Holidays. The actual pool sign says until 9pm. Sharing for awareness. I uploaded a photo of what the QR scan said , as well as the physical pool information as found on the 3rd floor I would probably check out the other EB in Arlington, VA next time should I need another break in my norm. You should too!

Hyatt Centric Old Town Alexandria, Virginia…read more When Bruce Springsteen announced he and the E Street Band would be performing at Nationals Stadium in D.C., I reached out to family and friends to see if they could be in town for the show. When my sister responded that she could make the show I immediately looked for a hotel in Old Town Alexandria (VA). I've lived in Alexandria for 14 years and believe we're well served by the hotels operating locally. Because she would be arriving from New York on Amtrak, I looked for hotels in Alexandria that are within walking distance of the King Street Metro station. There's an Embassy Suites, a Hampton Inn, a Hilton, and a Hyatt Centric, all within a five-minute walk from the Metro station. Right from the start the experience was a good one. My reservation was quickly recognized, as was my membership in the World of Hyatt, Hyatt's loyalty program. I was able to cover the cost of two nights ($580.92, including taxes, total for the two nights) when I checked my sister into the hotel. The hotel is perfectly located for using the Metro bus and rail lines (a five minute walk to Metro's Yellow and Blue lines and bus lines) - including the bus that will take you across the river to the MGM Grand Hotel in Oxon Hill, Maryland. There's also a free bus and trolley circulator and free DASH buses that all share a bus stop directly across the street from the hotel. The bar is well stocked and staffed by friendly and courteous bar staff. There's a valet service (best to check first about the cost - I think it was $45 per night but I didn't need it so I'm not sure I have the price right). The Hyatt Centric Old Town is probably the newest of the national brand hotels located near the King Street Metro station. It's clean, reasonably priced for the area, and as far as I can tell it's a safe and secure option for visitors to the DMV (District, Maryland, and Virginia).

The bar area is well appointed though rarely busy, and we've never availed ourselves of the restaurant or food offerings so cannot comment on that. The Front Desk staff are really great **shout out to Ryan and Gerry** , who were both immensely helpful to me as I straightened out a reservation snafu before and after arrival (not their issue). The one drawback is parking, as they only offer valet and it's $40 per day. Kind of steep, but parking is at a premium in that area. If you are staying on a weekend, you can park by meter electronically, which is very reasonable -- it does get tricky to find a spot, however. You can find free parking spaces up a bit further, but take note of the parking area restrictions and heed them. You will either get ticketed or towed if you do not, so fair warning lol. This hotel is just a great location and the rates are usually very reasonable. Just another note that if you book a Hilton stay through a third-party, they will not award you any points for your stay. Kind of a bummer. So be sure to check any third party rate with hilton.com and see if it can be matched so you can take advantage of the points.

They have valet here and the valet folks were really busy, but accommodating when we needed to quickly drop off our vehicle. The guy checking me in upgraded me to a suite, which was a nice surprise. The common areas in this hotel were beautiful and kept up nicely. When we got to the room it was nicely set up and quite large. The bathroom wasn't very impressive though, it featured a tub with shower curtain - many nicer properties have been updated to remove the tubs and replace them with shower systems. The other issue with this tub was that it didn't drain well, which wasn't fun when taking a shower. The TV in the room was kind of small for how big the room was and how far away the TV was from the bed. Also, the TV had streaming services, but no Pluto. I've been loving having Pluto on Marriott TVs lately. The bed was comfy and the HVAC worked well and wasn't too loud. Overall, it was a nice stay, even though we literally got there around 5PM and put our bags in the room and left, staying out past midnight before returning, then waking up, showering, and heading out around 9AM. So, we weren't there nor in the room very long, but it was perfect for our needs. I'd stay here again.

There are some glitches, but overall I had to give this hotel five stars because the people are so…read morekind, helpful, and knowledgeable. The hotel is really beautiful and there is nothing I like more than a courtyard. This area is well-maintained and very relaxing. It also is a great space to wait to get into the restaurant and bar associated with the hotel. The rooms are very attractive and well laid out. The rooms are also specious and updated. The only problem is the shower which is slippery and has no bar. It also takes a few minutes for the water to warm up. One of the most wonderful aspects of the hotel is that if a room is ready you do not have to wait for the check-in time. What a great way to run a business!!! Parking is about fifty dollars a night. But if you want to leave late there is no extra charge. The hotel also gives you a twenty-five-dollar credit for Home Grown - the breakfast restaurant associated with the hotel. The people who run this hotel make you feel like you are important and they want you to stay without squeezing every penny from clients by adding extra costs. Old Town, Alexandria, is charming with several small museums, lots of boutiques and small shops, and great food. The people are not so friendly, but the service sector makes up for that. Additionally, the trolley and buses are free, and the Metro is close by.
