As I happened to be passing right by The Royal George, I thought I would pop in to see what it was like as a potential venue for a meal or chat. It was really intriguing.
The whole ambience speaks of historic mystery. There are several nooks and crannies that ably serve as semi-private eating places. The main area sports a generous fire place, which I am told, is a centre of warmth during the colder weather.
There are photos and pictures to check out and a very friendly staff. I found the clients visiting while I was there were also very approachable and welcoming. They seemed very much at home and at ease.
So if you like a good atmosphere for a meal or light refreshments then I believe you'd not be disappointed at The Royal George. Just remember the low, ancient beams.
I've not tasted a meal there yet but the menus and the prices looked worth exploring. Why not take a break in this quaint yet very much alive village in Somerset.
