A local cultural arts center introduces active civilian's not only to the local scout or brownie bake sales, but a wonderful on going venue to express and experience a wide variety of typical and not so typical events. We've been to; concerts both in the auditorium and the outside stage, dance recitals, tumbling, expo's, network shops, food shows, plays and fairs. Of course EB day takes place here along of course with the 4th of July sensational fire works display which left our entire group covered in ash, lol ( perhaps they should check wind direction and crowd proximity next year ). The building is fairly modern and the staff always friendly. Tons of parking both on the grounds or through the Heavenly Farms fields. Unfortunately EB being one of the largest commuter towns in central NJ doesn't have a true Mayberry type Main street and really no place to collaborate with fellow local brethren. So come on out and meet your friends, neighbors, officials and be apart of the community, you owe it to yourself and your family.

I really was so warmly welcomed here and they were eager to help answer any questions and just engage with some of the key points. So many charming things used to learn today. From mastodons of which you can enjoy seeing a 10-foot-tall mastodon sculpture : a woolly mammoth-looking creature which once roamed the hills of Staten Island in prehistoric days. Learn about the industries that thrived in this area for example, their chewing gum factory, the terra-cotta factory & ceramic factory. Such wonderful things created for people to enjoy, however, the Freshkills area and then to see all the years and years worth of efforts made to clean up the area and make it safe and beautiful and a wonderful habitat once again. It was nice to see that it's treated as a beautiful treasure. Grateful to the women who lead the groups that were very persistent in this endeavor. I loved seeing the erasure poetry activity.. where are we made poetry by blocking out the letters that were the writings of the museum's kind founder William T. Davis. Reconstructing his writing.. it's a wonderful little game that takes you slowly into his thoughts and his love and reflections of his town. I'm happy to learn about the founder of this museum and how he took care of all the sailors by constructing these buildings and giving them a home after a lifetime of working hard on the ships Very thankful for all the hard-working people that keep this wonderful story alive and in the minds of everyone lucky enough to venture this way.

You can get through most of the garden in under an hour and a half. They are known for the Chinese Garden which is breathtaking and costs just $5 to explore. The exhibit shares great history and really makes you feel like you're in a different world. There is a cafe with outdoor seating where you can grab a small bite and there's also a few adorable cottages and one of them is converted into an ice cream shop with benches outside. They also had a dance festival which was fun to watch. This was the perfect place to spend a summer day!

A recent sold-out lecture by Dr. Robin Wall Kimmerer was inspiring, challenging and warmly entertaining. It was followed by a marvelous chamber music concert featuring a collection mostly contemporary works influenced by a connection with nature. Grace Farms' mission is to support nature, arts, justice, community and faith. It's a much-appreciated place to refocus and refuel in these difficult times.

They have film events, kid's story time and may events for the entire family. It's a beautiful space to explore Korean culture . The staff is great and welcoming.

After standing for a few hours, I really regretted not getting a ticketed seat for myself. So in the future, I'm glad that I have that option. Once you enter The Shed, you take the escalator upstairs to get to the concert hall. At the end of the concert, the doors open and lead you out right next to The Vessel so I thought that was a nice visual perk at the end of the concert. I hope I get a chance to come back and get to walk around the place and see a little bit more of it.

Theater review: seating was 3 escalator flights up where most seats were good ones. Comfortable folding style chairs with the theater exhibiting good lighting and audio. There was a mobile bar during intermission that offered wine, water and soda for purchase. I didn't see any merchandise for sale. Production review: When I learned Tom Hanks would be performing Off Broadway in "This World of Tomorrow", I was eager to get tickets. Although the production is Off Broadway, the prices were definitely Broadway and no surprise there with headliner Tom Hanks--one of my top favorite actors of all time--in the starring role. The play takes place in the year 2089 and is all about time travel with Hanks' character--Bert--traveling back to 1939 during New York's World Fair. Without giving anything away, the storyline explores themes on falling in love, technology and what makes life meaningful. We really enjoyed the production which runs through December 21. Overall, it received positive reviews. Some were mixed and in my opinion, I thought the play should have been shaved down by 20 -30 minutes (it was 2 hours + 15 min with intermission). As a Tom Hanks fan, it was truly a delightful treat on a holiday weekend.

Thinking about it gives me nostalgia for the late summer. You pay an entrance fee (I forget the exact amount, somewhere between $10-$15) but it includes all the rides and some games. This is great if you are taking kids, so you won't have to worry about tickets, tokens or any other methods of payment. The food is phenomenal for being festival food (but then again I love Polish food). For fair prices you can get potato pancakes, pierogies and imported beer. They have musicians and dancing for entertainment, though I suggest if you're interested in that kind of thing going later on, since that's when the bulk of it happens. Overall this is a fun event and worth checking out.

While the home is stunning and a great representation of some of the rich history on Staten Island, I was disappointed to learn that only the bottom floor and grounds were available to walk through. I was hoping to tour the whole house. When there's another open house opportunity I hope to go back and see the top floors. You can imagine the people who lived there and the life they led. A real look into the past.

Magazzino is a museum in Cold Spring, NY that displays Postwar & Contemporary Italian Art. We…read morevisited this space on a Saturday "day trip". When we first arrived at Magazzino, staff let us view the Antonio Marras and Maria Lai: Llencols De Aigua Installation- this will be there until January 2026. All of us visitors were then told that some areas are not open to the public at this time. This promopted the woman at the front desk in this specific building to state that museum general admission is 1/2 price per person ($10 instead of $20) and that she could only take one form of payment. Because we wanted to pay cash, we were told that we can pay admission in the next nearby building w/ separate staff. It was nice weather that day, & we enjoyed walking on the property to the next building. Although a portion of the space was closed to patrons, we got to see some artwork w/ in Robert Olnick Pavilion, which was created in 2023. This included the Arte Povera which is their Permanent Collection. The architectural design of Magazzino Italian Art is modern & beautiful in its simplicity. Magazzino has lots of campus-style open space w/ beautifully massive windows & gorgeous greenery. A water feature & open walkway between one gallery to another completes the nice minimalist aesthetic.
