The Rose & Crown is a decent traditional pub in Blackpool, only a short walk from the seafront and The Blackpool Tower. This is more of a family, daytime establishment - the emphasis is on inexpensive food & drinks. The real ale selection is severely limited - the focus being on fizzy lagers and other alcoholic drinks. As a place for a cheap, quick dinner it's actually recommendable as an alternative to the nearest JD Wetherspoon (The Albert and the Lion). It's smaller, less grubby - but the food similarly priced.
I chose the "Deluxe Burger" with two (!) 6 oz beef patties, and it's quite a bargain. While the patties are certainly convenience products, they were well grilled - still juicy. The fries that came with it were crispy - not the flabby, soggy kind you usually get with fish & chips. The seating areas inside aren't exactly comfy, but you're not supposed to linger here. There's also a small seating area outside.
For a quick meal and drink you can do a lot worse in Blackpool than at The Rose & Crown. read more
